  1. I'm in exactly the same position, down to having last seen Far From Home and Wandavision. Once Endgame put the cap on the story I'd gotten invested in I just haven't had the energy to keep going.
  2. Everybody jumping on the Smash train.
  3. Because it's sexy as hell, that's why! Also I'm on a launch Xbox One controller and it's getting a little loose in its old age.
  4. I thought your government was taking a "live and let live" approach to the cartels.
  5. Yeah, the disconnection issue is server side, nothing on your end. The only crash I had was when I was exceeding my available vram, which, you know, that one's kind of on me.
  6. Yeah, this wasn't any problem with the game, it was just me trying to optimize the graphics vs. performance, because as soon as I can start tweaking it is impossible for me not to. The audio issues were something weird with my computer interacting with the way I had my TV setup, it affected all audio from my computer, not just the game. The only real issue I've had is the disconnects, but I don't care about playing online anyway so it hasn't bothered me. *Edit - Though there is one problem with the game that made my optimization harder: on any texture setting below Extreme there is a LOD issue where ground textures in the distance are super low res. It looks terrible. My PC is capable of running the game nicely at 4k, but trying to use extreme textures while running at that resolution was causing me to run out of vram, so a lot of my tweaking involved figuring out what I needed to turn down to not have that happen. That kind of stuff is common on PC though, there's always something, and it's the kind of stuff I'd rather not have to deal with.
  7. No shit, you want to pretend it's real assets it's gonna get treated as such. Makes me think of all the people who are like "the government can't tax crypto cause it's all digital" and like, they definitely can, and they can throw you in prison if you don't comply. Or, as I once read on Twitter, "whoever controls the physical substrate controls all its supervening phenomena."
  8. Guardians of the Galaxy That game was actually pretty great. It doesn't have the polish of big first party games, but it's well put together, a lot of fun, and keeps things nicely varied. It's basically Uncharted in space, and I actually think it's a better game, even though the presentation isn't as slick. It's fun throughout, which is all you can really ask for. 4/5
  9. Doesn't matter either way, chapter select doesn't overwrite your save, so you can do it any time without messing up your progress. *Edit - Related: And pro-tip about the Drax the Dismemberer trophy:
  10. I am also playing Forza Horizon 5 and enjoying it. Though I spent an hour and a half with the benchmarking stuff trying to get the settings to where I want them, and then two and a half hours troubleshooting audio issues (unrelated to the game itself), which all reinforced why I much prefer console gaming...
  11. Oh, yeah, that's been the problem liberals since forever.
  12. I followed a spoiler-free collectible guide from the beginning, and got the collectible trophy at the beginning of chapter 13 (I think? It might have been 14). I did have the trophy for unlocking all abilities glitch out on me, but was able to fix that by going back a few chapters via chapter select and re-buying the one it didn't count. Now I just need to finish the game, and get the one for Drax doing his special attack on a particular kind of enemy.
  13. Guardians of the Galaxy Based on chapter numbers I'm about halfway through, and I'm really enjoying it so far. I've heard it described as Uncharted + Mass Effect, and I can see why, even I think that description overblows the RPG aspects (I've also heard it called an RPG, which just... no. It's the least RPG of any action game I've played in the last 10 years, each character has four skills you can buy, and that's the extent of it). The combat is fun, and getting to order the various Guardians around keeps it varied. They've also done a good job so far of keeping the missions varied, and not fallen into the Uncharted misstep of having way too many combat encounters. It doesn't have the polish of an Uncharted or something similar, but the fundamentals are all there, and all work very very well.
  14. I've got that game on my list right after GotG. Hopefully I'm not as bored by it as you were.
  15. I was still in the first area and felt like it needed a fast travel, but yeah I would have been fine with it only being between certain types of room, in fact that's exactly what I was imagining. Like let you fast travel between save rooms.
  16. So, I gave Metroid Dread the old college try, and I just was not feeling it. Part of it is that some of the mechanics felt dated, and part of it was that I just prefer melee combat in this kind of game. I'm also guessing there's an element of Seinfeld is Unfunny to it, though I can't say for sure. The real killer though was how much just running through areas you've already been through there was. This game could really use a fast-travel. About the fifth time I finished something or activated something to open a new area or whatever, then looked at the map to see where I needed go next, and my reaction was "ugh, I have to go way over there?" I decided the game wasn't for me. At least with Gamefly I'm only out a few days of my sub instead of the purchase price less whatever I could get for selling it, which probably would have netted out to about $30.
  17. Yeah, for me the issue with Avengers wasn't that it didn't look like the MCU, it was that it looked too much like the MCU without being the MCU. It was like MCU uncanny valley. Guardians seems to have more of its own personality, even though it's clearly influenced by the MCU Guardians.
  18. £250m is less than what you save each week from leaving the EU!
  19. They're kind of right that the left has nowhere else to go, if you ignore the idea that if you're too far right the left just won't vote at all.
  20. This is just like the Democrats over here. They're so concerned with courting moderate Republicans that they completely ignore all the people on the left who don't vote for them because they're too similar to Republicans. And then those moderate Republicans they're trying to attract still vote Republican anyway because they're Republicans.
  21. Life is Strange: True Colors This is the first game I got through Gamefly, and it was a good choice. The game is really really good. I figured out the twist about 5 seconds before Alex did, which is honestly about the perfect way for that to work out, and that kind of timing is really hard to pull off. I don't love it the way I loved the original, but if I had played this one first it might have had that same kind of feeling. Right before the end I was a little worried, because the big climax scene kind of fell flat for me, to the point that I checked my phone during it, and there's one little aspect to the reveal that I thought was a little too wrapped-up, but everything else was so great, and the epilogue redeemed it, so overall I didn't think it detracted from the game. 5/5
