  1. Kena: Bridge of Spirits This game is really good. Shockingly good, considering it's the first game this studio has ever made, though you can definitely see their movie roots in the visuals. The story is engaging and moving, even if it's a little cheesy. Think charming kids movie. The game itself is fun too. It's a little repetitive in the overall structure (they applied the Rule of 3 like it was a law of nature), but the areas and specific tasks you're doing are varied, as the different abilities you get along the way. My only real complaint is that it's too hard. I started on normal difficulty and by the end bumped it down to story, though that was a little too easy. I wouldn't have minded the difficulty so much, but some of the checkpointing is just bad, making you redo stuff before getting back to the fight where you died, so it adds an extra layer of friction on top. All in all though I'd highly recommend it. Grade: A
  2. Okay, so scratch that, further research revealed that model doesn't do full 4k in 120hz mode, it interlaces the frames, which wouldn't be the end of the world but I'm trying to future proof here so I don't want any issues like that. So then I went to the next model up, which does do full 4k120. But then there was another that was only a little more expensive but better still, and a couple more rounds of that process and now I'm getting this: 48" LG C1 OLED Full 4k120, every kind of VRR there is (HDMI Forum, Freesync, Gsync), it'll be great.
  3. Yeah, they're cool, but $25 seems more like what they should be.
  4. Oh man, that purple one is hawt. If I didn't already have two I'd be all over that.
  5. We have a little desktop one we got when our cats were young because they liked to climb the full sized one, and even now that they don't anymore we still only put up the little one half the time. It's a lot less work.
  6. Yeah, I've been thinking about my rating more, and it's still a 4/5 because of those problems I mentioned, but it's a 4/5 with a because it just feels so good to play.
  7. Halo Infinite This campaign has some issues that I could go into (the boss fights are terrible, all the main story missions feel samey, no big army-clashing set-piece battles, only one biome, etc etc), but the core is so so good none of that really matters. It's just so damn much fun to play, and moment-to-moment it feels like the Bungie games. I'm actually wanting to dive back in to the open world to do all the FOBs and stuff, and I never do that with open world games. This is a great game despite its flaws, and I very much look forward to what 343 can do to improve upon it. 4/5 *Edit - I'm going to try a letter grade system, since I feel like that makes more intuitive sense to me than numbers. Halo Infinite gets an A-.
  8. I've been wanting to upgrade to a 120Hz VRR TV for my gaming setup for a while, and then this one dropped in price on Amazon, and with my Amazon card I get to break it up over 18 months 0% interest, and it has a better panel than my current one so I get a sharper picture, better colors, and better brightness.
  9. New TV stand is much less crowded, plus it has room for a Series X once I get one, which the old one did not.
  10. That's really cool, as is all the increased focus on accessibility in the last couple years. There's that video of The Blind Gamer literally crying at the start of TLoU2 when it starts reading through all the accessibility options.
  11. That was Paper Mario for me last year, enough so that I have very melancholy associations with that game even though it's nothing but light hearted fun.
  12. Yeah, they had my curiosity, but now they have my interest.
  13. This trailer for Suicide Squad gives me serious Sunset Overdrive vibes, and that's a very good thing. Saints Row looking a lot better than I expected too, after I heard they were toning it down and losing the dildo bats.
  14. Is that game MP only? Something I saw made me think that it was.
  15. *Deleted my dumb question because for some reason the spoiler tags didn't show up the first time I came in here.
  16. It's not all that scripted. Sure you have to kill them at a specific time of day on a specific map, but there's always multiple ways to actually do it. All your complaints are valid though, even if they didn't bother me personally for whatever reason.
  17. Sadly we already know that their next game, Redfall, is one of those 4-player-coop PvE shooters.
  18. I'm holding out for Halo before I decide for sure, but as of right now my candidates are: Returnal Deathloop Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart I think it's unlikely Halo will beat out those, but given the reviews it's not impossible.
  19. They did buy the gun for him, and refuse to take him out of school when he was drawing pictures of people being shot and writing "the thoughts won't stop".
