You can run XBMC as software on Windows, which is what I'm doing, I just thought I'd try the linux version first because I don't have to pay for linux or pirate it.
-
Yeah, I used to use XBMC as my dashboard for my old modded Xbox and I loved it, so that's what I'm using cause I'm familiar with it.
-
Yeah, that's really cool but my first thought was that it will probably kill you in some horrible way.

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/campaign-interview-call-of/730375 I know it's marketing, so grain of salt and all that, but these Overwatch missions sound really cool. I'd consider buying it at launch if I was convinced singleplayer would be beefy enough to justify it.

Posting from my HTPC. Actually built it on Monday, put XBMCBuntu on it, couldn't get hdmi audio working, screwed with it all night, gave up, went to bed. Tuesday I was like "okay, I'll give regular Ubuntu a shot." HDMI audio works right off the bat, so I'm happy, get all my software and everything set up, then I go to try to get the remote control working. Can't get lirc working right, so it won't recognize my remote, I go to bed frustrated again. Today I put Windows 7 on it, everything works like a charm. What I have learned from this: even for a media appliance, linux isn't worth the trouble.

I have no idea about the UK, but I know in the US if you voluntarily quit from a job then you can't get unemployment benefits.

EA, your transparent attempt at viral marketing does you no credit.

Yeah, in the last few years I've bought numerous games that I pirated way back when. Often times I end up never even playing the newly purchased copy, but I still don't regret the purchases.

Yeah, I can climb a fucking chain link fence irl, and I'm not exactly an olympic athlete...

It was Stay Puft marshmallows. I tend to not notice product placement either unless it's really really hamfisted, which tends to either mean they go way out of their way to zoom in on the logo or it's stuff like the "vintage 2004" from I, Robot.

I agree wholeheartedly. Though I'm surprised sites like Youtube don't detect that you're using it and block the actual video from playing too.
-
Yeah, I originally was looking for an animation of one opening and closing, but apparently they're too old school.

That's not a flipping phone, this is a flipping phone: I know, fucking retarded.

Bungie's new project: http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/21/activision-bungie-contract-reveals-four-game-plan-code-named-de/ The reason I'm posting it here is because I'm wondering if the timed Xbox exclusivity is some remnant of Bungie's deal with MS, or just that they're more familiar with the 360.

atm we just know the accounts were hijacked, don't know anything about methods.

It's so weird that Google Chrome isn't available on [Google] Android.

Oftentimes puzzle-heavy games give me more trouble on my second time through because I remember most of the puzzle but I'm forgetting one crucial aspect of it. Then it's hard to figure out what I'm missing because I just did the rest by rote, without really thinking through why I was doing the things, so I have to try and work it all back out again from scratch.

It was bound to happen.

I couldn't ever get into Sins of a Solar Empire because I prefer my 4X games to be turn-based.

I like some aim assist when I'm using a controller, but I agree that actual lock-on is lame. *Edit* - The exception to that (contrary to everyone else, apparently) is RDR: I thought the lock-on in that game really helped with the fantasy of being the quick-draw, gunfighting cowboy badass.

Obviously we should just abolish all laws and government entirely, and let every live or die, succeed or fail as fortune dictates.

To explain the 47% thing: in 2009 47% of US households paid no federal income tax. Source: http://money.cnn.com/2009/09/30/pf/taxes/who_pays_taxes/index.htm However, that doesn't mean they don't still pay taxes. From the article:
