  1. Like a Dragon is a separate story with separate characters, you don't need to have played the others to play that one.
  2. Ghostrunner Holy shit this game is fantastic. It's like if Mirror's Edge and Super Meat Boy had a baby, and I am here for it. Basically you are a robot assassin in a cyberpunk dystopia, and you kill baddies by wall-running and grappling around and slicing them with your cybersword. You die constantly, but like Super Meat Boy you respawn instantly to give it another go, so each encounter is like a puzzle. Then you get to feel like a complete badass when you do this: (that's actually a very simple encounter from early in the game, I tried to record more but for some reason Game DVR stopped working so all the rest of my videos were just blackness ?) (also the video is only at 30 fps because that's what my capture settings are, but I was actually playing at 60) As you all know I'm a complete wuss about frustrating games and having to replay segments, so the fact that I liked this should prove it's not bad at all. There were a few parts where I thought the checkpoints were a little too far apart, but on the whole it really strikes a good balance between difficulty but letting you get right back into the action. I could probably count on one hand the number of times I really got frustrated with the game, which coming from me that says something. 5/5
  3. Apparently Nevada has "paused" counting until 9 am Pacific time tomorrow, because they want to cause as much anxiety as they possibly can.
  4. I wish I still had time to do achievement hunting like that.
  5. Ghostrunner. After I finished Sleeping Dogs (which I always want to call Watch Dogs), I needed something to play while waiting for the PS5 to come out. I'd seen reviews of this and they were all glowing, and there was a free demo so I tried it and damn. This game is amazing. And don't let the haters tell you it's not playable with a controller, I'm halfway through and have only been using a controller and I'm loving it.
  6. Apparently you can turn off the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in the accessibility options on PS5, which is cool, because I know some people with disabilities were concerned those features would cause them problems while playing. What's less cool is that their justification for not letting you use a DS4 on PS5 is that it doesn't support haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, which are necessary for PS5 games, but if you can turn those features off then that explanation doesn't hold any water...
  7. Sleeping Dogs This game was pretty good, it was nice to play a GTA-like somewhere other than America. The melee system was a lot of fun to, to the point that I actually enjoyed combat for its own sake, which is rare for me in a game like this. I also liked the Chinese action movie vibes, and while the plot was fairly predictable it didn't really detract from the overall experience. 4/5
  8. Legion is getting really mixed reviews. The consensus seems to be that it really suffers from not having an actual protagonist, and the varying scores are due to differences of opinion on whether the gameplay is fun enough to make up for the fact that there's nothing to make you care about the story. Since story and characters are usually my main driver in playing games, I think I'll give this one a pass.
  9. Dead Space 2 I really loved the first Dead Space, but for some reason when I played this one the first time I bounced off it. I'm guessing it's because I tried it immediately after replaying the first Dead Space, and horror creatures like these never work as well if you're too familiar with them. It's been years now though, so I think that effect wore off to some extent, and it stuck with me this time. Though I don't know if I could say I "enjoyed" it per se, it's really good, good enough to have me considering buying Dead Space 3 at least. 4/5
  10. My wife and I got a few episodes into that and decided it was more irritating than funny. Glad you liked it though.
  11. For reference, it was about the same quality as this video: ie, pretty good, specially when there's not a ton of fast movement, but definitely not as good as playing it on local hardware.
  12. My connection is 160/20 Mbps, I even ran a speed test during the demo to make sure that wasn't the problem and it showed 145/18 Mbps (which makes sense if the game was using the other 15/2). It looked okay when the screen was mostly still, maybe a little soft but not bad, but whenever there was a lot of fast motion it got pretty bad, like the bitrate was set too low. And latency was great, so it didn't feel like I had a bad connection, everything was very responsive, it was only the image compression.
  13. I just played the Immortals Fenyx Rising demo on Stadia (you don't need a subscription to Stadia to play it), and it was pretty good, definitely has me looking forward to the full game. It was played basically like a more fantastical Assassin's Creed Odyssey, though with even less emphasis on stealth. I actually liked the combat more than ACO though, I think because it was more fantastical, so like the dodge move was more like a blink, and took you farther, that kind of thing. The Breath of the Wild influences are even more apparent than they were in ACO too, but considering BotW was my game of the decade that can only be a good thing. Unrelated to the quality the game itself, Stadia is not as good as I remembered it being (coincidentally the last time I used it was the ACO demo). Latency was still great, barely even noticeable, but damn image quality was bad. I expected it to be like a Youtube video, but it's worse. Definitely not the way I would want to play games at home on the TV, though I can definitely see why it would be attractive if you don't want to spend $$$ on dedicated gaming hardware.
  14. I have been playing with God mode on since like my 5th run... ?
  15. I forgot about that game, but man it looks badass.
  16. Sony has released a free Black Lives Matter theme for PS4. EU - US
  17. Fiiiine, I guess I'll try Hades again after I finish Dead Space and Sleeping Dogs. lolwut
  18. I wouldn't say it's harder per se, it's just the ways it's hard are frustrating instead of fun, like with the camera and controls fighting you. There are plenty of games that have extremely precise controls but are still balls-ass hard, but when you know what you need to do and you know (theoretically) how to do it, but it just doesn't always work, that's not a fun kind of difficulty.
  19. Super Mario Sunshine This game is still amazing. Night and day difference from Mario 64. There's still a slight amount of wonkiness in the controls as far as getting Mario to do what you want, but it's so much better than 64. I was actually motivated to keep playing and get more shines even after I had beat the game, whereas with 64 I only slogged through the last 20 or so stars I needed to beat the game because I couldn't bring myself to give up. I'm probably done with it now, but I could definitely see myself coming back to get all 120. 5/5
  20. I have not played, DS3, this is the first time I've ever played DS2, and I'm not the kind of person who can play a series out of order. ?
  21. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition It was on sale for $15 on PSN, which was cheap enough to get me to bite. I was already planning to wait to play it on my PS5, but then I found out they've announced they're doing a PS5 upgraded version, which will be free to owners of the PS4 version, so I guess I'll probably wait for that...
  22. You would think people like that would know better than to enter the US...
