  1. I'm pretty sure every romance option is returning, and positive the 3 romance options from the first game are.
  2. Well the idea with different percentages is that the more money you make the more you can afford to part with. Taking 25% of the income from someone making $50k/year is going to hurt them a lot more than taking 25% from someone making $500k. You could take 90% from someone making $50M/year (I know there aren't many of those people) and they'd still be making a ludicrous amount of money. *Edit* - To be clear, I'm not advocating a 90% tax on anyone, just illustrating the point.
  3. Problem not solved, I pay 20%. He'd still be paying less than me. Unless you mean that you cap the highest rate at 15% and have the lower income rates even lower than that. *Edit* - though that 20% is including state income tax, which obviously is going to vary from state to state. Not sure what my federal rate is.
  4. I've heard "whale on" but I've also always assumed it was "wail".
  5. That depends on how you define fair share. I would assume that at least everyone can agree that the rich should not pay less than everyone else, but Mitt Romney makes $20M per year and has an effective tax rate of 14%, which is less than what I pay and I only make $40k.
  6. Yeah, I won't knowingly buy any game with StarForce. Same goes for Ubi's always-on DRM. And here's the thing for me: if I refuse to buy the PC version of a game because of DRM, I will also not buy the console version even though I have the console.
  7. I can't shake the feeling that James is going to be as boring as Jacob was, but if so it won't be due to lack of effort on FPJr's part, cause he is definitely very enthusiastic about it.
  8. Yeah, I know there are other benefits, but the lending library is the only one I really care about. I don't mind waiting 3 days for packages instead of 2, and the VOD stuff doesn't really interest me either.
  9. From the Mass Effect thread. Not to pick on WaS, cause I know I'm taking this comment completely out of context, but it just made me think of the attitude that I think is a huge problem in American politics; people act like the majority should be catered to at the expense of all others. Tyranny by majority is still tyranny, and the whole reason we have things like the first amendment is to protect the minority from the majority. Just because most people like one thing doesn't mean we should force it down the throats of everyone else. Again, specific comment taken entirely out of context, so don't take this as me attacking you WaS.
  10. Oh, the lending library doesn't work on the apps? Guess I won't get prime then. Shame, I was really considering it.
  11. I think it's interesting how they have Femshep's voice actor but not Maleshep's. It's like they don't want to acknowledge Maleshep isn't a real person.
  12. Amazon is the internet's Walmart, without the white trash connotations.
  13. lol, it's not like they can put it on Origin without EA's permission.
  14. I'm also really glad they improved the hologram visuals, the ones in ME2 looked like shit, especially when you were allowed to move around because they didn't shift right with the environment. They were obviously just sprites pasted over the screen, and I thought we'd moved past that.
  15. I agree TNext, and I thought the same thing about the Kinect features in Halo: Anniversary. *Edit* - Just watched the trailer. Why is Liara pointing a gun at a hologram of the Illusive Man?
  16. How is that different from Cerberus Network/other project $10 stuff? *Edit* - @Thursday: I don't think you should try to make a better product by providing more content than you will get with piracy, because it's simply impossible, anything you release will be pirated. The closest you can get is online multiplayer. But you should try to focus on more positive "reward" type stuff, because that generates good will and makes people want to buy the game, even though they could pirate it. Even though I could pirate the added content I'm going to go "it's cool that they're doing that" and be more likely to buy the game, even if the added stuff is something I have no interest in.
  17. No, if the Catwoman parts didn't exist I wouldn't suspect wrongdoing, it just would bug me. Though they could have fixed that with like a 10 second cutscene establishing why she's there and her realizing Batman's in trouble, so really I'm just nitpicking.
  18. Nope, never heard that before outside the context of the super hero.
  19. I take issue with this viewpoint. I mean yes, it's clear they developed the game planning to have that content, but you don't know what would have happened in a pre-DLC world. Maybe the content would have been in the game, but maybe it just would have been cut altogether, and there would have just been some empty rooms on the Normandy with no mention of Kasumi or Zaeed. I don't mind project $10 stuff that comes free with a new purchase, but I don't like it when it seems like they cut content just to sell it separately. For that kind of thing I'm kind of like Johnny and just go by whether it seems to me like I got a full experience or not on the original game, which admittedly is entirely subjective. *Edit* - @HH: because without the explanation of how it came about it's just deus ex machina, which seems like lazy writing.
  20. @Hot Heart: If it were just the appearance near the beginning with Two Face, I'd agree with you, it's the later one that I would take issue with. As I said in my previous post, I don't know of a practical way to really make that distinction, because you can't know what the developer did or didn't do in most cases. And honestly this project $10 stuff doesn't really bother me at all; sometimes it seems kind of shitty, but I almost always buy my games new anyway so meh. Alright, I was going to say more but dean posted while I was writing so I want to read his before I go on.
  21. @Thursday: As a theoretical matter I'd draw the distinction at whether the content was developed as part of the game and then cut out for a project-$10-type thing, or whether it was developed separately as add-on content from the get-go. Obviously as a practical matter though that's impossible to determine for anyone outside the studio/publisher. The best you can do is consider what evidence there is and try to make a best guess. The Catwoman stuff, for instance, seems pretty shady cause it's pretty well integrated into the story, and without playing those parts certain scenes would just be total deus ex machina, not to mention what dean said about Poison Ivy, so it's pretty clear that they developed the whole game with the Catwoman segments in mind and then cut them later. This is all pretty theoretical for me though since I buy pretty much every game new anyway, so it doesn't really matter to me.
  22. Yeah, I've never heard of that either. Closest thing I can think of would be a utility closet, but that's just the little closet-room with the hot water heater/furnace/air conditioner in it, and occasionally brooms/vacuums/etc.
