  1. This is a bit like saying "hey, it was on a Steam sale a few months ago, so it's not worth buying now." We're talking about the best game of 2010 here. I spent $80 on the LCE and I'm damn sure gonna double dip on the PC version (eh, if it's $50, probably not). Also, the Amazon sale (I think the game was a bit higher than $5; the number quoted on the forum was $13 or so) didn't include either DLC, and the Steam game will. I'm not talking about a sale, there were XBL download-code cards for this game on Amazon for $5 for several months at least. They weren't "sold by Amazon", they were sold by somebody else, but they were there.
  2. At my high school our government class was basically "this is how the government works, this is what the constitution says, etc". We only had it for one semester though, not all through high school. In grade school we had social studies which covered some of that in more general terms, but it was also mixed in with history and other humanities-type stuff.
  3. Jurassic Park: The Game. I enjoyed it, though I'm glad I didn't specifically buy it (got it for free for subscribing to PS+). Graphics were some of the worst I've seen this gen, voice acting was bad, and pre-caching was terribad. There were frequent pauses of 1-5 seconds between input sequences, which really destroyed the flow of the action scenes.
  4. Apparently it's a US/Canada thing, and it's French for "broth". I'm guessing that the Canadians got it from the French and then Americans got it from Canada.
  5. Yeah, I'm not gonna write it off based just on the demo, but I am less interested than I was. This brings up another topic though, about how games (especially RPGs) need to get better about having an interesting intro. The intro may not do justice to the game, but it's the part that anyone who's on the fence is going to judge it on, so you'd better work to hook them in.
  6. The only issue for me is that I can't imagine they'll price it low enough. It seems to be gone now but a few months ago Amazon had XBL download codes for Alan Wake for $5. I won't be able to bring myself to purchase the PC version for $30 (I'm sure it won't be any lower) when I know it's been so cheap on console.
  7. Someone put entirely too much work into that.
  8. The pedigree consists of some (admittedly awesome) RTS's. Not exactly super relevant to developing an RPG.
  9. The art style was fine, but the environments were bland as hell. But I agree, I'd pick it up for probably <$10 on a Steam sale. *Edit* - @Cyber: I got insanely bored before I even got out of the cave system. Like, the second or third conversation I was just like "I have no interest in continuing this"
  10. Slightly NSFW (not too bad though, just a heads-up)
  11. I thought it felt like a combination of Dragon Age and Fable, which for some reason just didn't do it for me, even though I love both of those games. To summarize my reaction: meh.
  12. According to the ad at the bottom of this page I'm only one click away from a Roman orgy.

Just be careful Ethan, those Romans weren't very clean, always use protection.

For some reason on this machine (not the one I was on when I originally posted) it clears my whitelist every time I close the browser, making it very inconvenient to leave ads on for this site.

"The six degrees of..." ah... well, you know...

  13. What do an Arkansas divorce and a tornado have in common?
  14. $1.99 on Amazon after my promo code from buying Dragon Age 2.
  15. Ah yeah, knowing who Gary Glitter is certainly helps...
  16. Enemies scale from player level, power-leveling non-combat abilities makes player level increase. Or rather, individual enemies don't scale, but as you level it unlocks higher tiers of enemies.
  17. Ah yeah. Living in the US I know exactly where mine goes.
  18. Even though you may not have used the services recently, you have to admit you'd rather live in a society with police and fire services than one without them.
  19. What about police, fire service, public roads, etc?
  20. It's "levi-OH-sa", not "levi-oh-SAH". Dumbass.
  21. I'm sorry, I can't resist posting that at every opportunity.
