No I know I can hide it, but I like it there so I can conveniently empty it when I'm done deleting things. Right click -> Empty Recycle Bin
-
Because I like to have things sent to the recycle bin instead of deleting them outright because sometimes I accidentally delete the wrong thing, or decided I didn't want to delete it, but I also don't like things sitting in the recycle bin for extended periods of time, so I like it there so I can easily empty it. tl;dr: OCD

Yeah, I just went through the games in my library on my Raptr profile. Though I know that library is missing some of the much older titles I used to play (like NES and Genesis), I'm pretty sure I've added all the ones that would deserve a place on this list. The hard part was narrowing my list of about 30-35 games I thought might deserve a place down to the 15 that I was allotted.
-
I agree whole-heartedly. The only thing on my desktop is the recycle bin.

He was referring to the anime. I didn't even know there was ever a live-action one being made.

SiwihiwiHEET! I'm gonna preorder this when I go pick up Portal 2.
-
Yeah, I think I'm going to have to go with Wind Waker also.

That assumes my other hand is already on the keyboard, which most of the time it isn't.

First off, everything I'm about to say assumes that the kid is located in the U.S. Your right to free speech is actually stronger on government property than it is on private property, because the first amendment is a prohibition on government limitations on speech. That said, it's still subject to reasonable time, place, and manner restrictions, and telling a kid not to talk during class/lecture is a reasonable time/place/manner restriction. Also, not all speech (really "expression", it's not limited to "speech") is equally protected, there's a continuum with political/religious expression being the most protected, and criminal expression being the least/not-at-all protected (fraud, incitement to violence, etc), with other stuff falling in the middle. If what he's saying isn't protected then "freedom of speech" isn't a defense to the teacher telling him to shut the fuck up, and even if it is protected it's still not a defense because it can be subject to reasonable time/place/manner restrictions, they just can't block the message altogether/unreasonably. A school is intended to facilitate learning, and restrictions on speech that would interfere with that purpose are generally going to be "reasonable." I find constitutional law, especially the first amendment, quite interesting.

Middle-click.

lolwut? @Cyber Rat: Do you mean analogies?

w00t! Now I don't feel as bad about leaving it off my list. Also: I'm surprised that's so low on your list.

That's why Jack wants to fuck him.

Oh no, it is. DA2 broke 1 million sales in two weeks... I know it's not doing poorly, but "it's doing well" and "it's doing as well as they'd hoped" are two entirely different things.

Man, that was painful. Many fantastic games were cut. I would like to throw out honorable mentions specifically to Starsiege: Tribes, Rise of Nations, and Advance Wars, among many others. Halo Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Super Mario 64 Starcraft Mario Kart 64 Knights of the Old Republic Shadow of the Colossus Homeworld Black & White Portal Mass Effect Call of Duty 2 Red Dead Redemption Burnout: Revenge (X360) Civilization V
-
Yeah, I realized I'm confusing Burnout with some other game, but I can't figure out which one (possibly one I made up). It's still true for Splinter Cell, though. *Edit* - Also, it's the final 50 (or 100), not 15. If it were 15 I would agree with you, but with 50/100 it could make a difference.
-
What do you want the rule to be on the same game on multiple platforms? Most of the time I don't think it should make a difference (like RDR on PS3 or 360), but for instance I find Monday Night Combat on XBLA to be much different from Monday Night Combat on PC. *Edit* - Also there are games like Splinter Cell: Double Agent, and Burnout Revenge that released both on Gen 6 and Gen 7 consoles, but the Gen 6 and Gen 7 versions were ENTIRELY different from each other.

Huh, I did right-click copy, but when I tried to paste it just pasted what had previously been in my clipboard. I'll try again sometime.

This bugs the shit out of me too. If you say "the sky is usually red" you're just wrong, and prefacing it with "in my opinion" doesn't make you any less wrong. Just because you say it's your opinion doesn't change that it's actually a factual statement, which you are wrong about. People are taught in grade school that opinions can't be right or wrong, but they never seem to grasp the flipside of it that if what you say is verifiably right or wrong then ipso facto it's not an opinion, regardless of what you call it. So if you say "in my opinion the sky is usually red" then not only are you wrong about the sky being red, you're ALSO wrong about it being an "opinion." To throw some law in here, for the purposes of things like slander/libel/fraud/etc, a statement is an opinion if, by its very nature, it cannot be proved or disproved ("Coke tastes better than Pepsi"), conversely it's a factual statement if it can be proved or disproved, whether it is actually true or not ("Coke has fewer calories than Pepsi". Disclaimer: I don't know whether that's true or not). *Edit* - Also, "freedom of speech" doesn't mean people can't disagree with you, dumbass.
-
Not according to Dictionary.com. Based on your Google link it looks like "amendement" is the French spelling.

I really like the concept of EVE, and enjoyed playing it for a while, but it's just too damned complicated. I can't wrap my puny little brain around its mechanics. *Edit* - Yeah, when I played it was back in undergrad, and I would frequently select a new destination for my ship and then go to class while it autopiloted its way there.
-
I don't like it when games say "START button." It makes me feel like I'm being yelled at.
-
So... does this mean DA2 isn't selling as well as they'd hoped?
-
Ah, okay. I'm not ENTIRELY crazy!

That video was really familiar to me. I feel like maybe they took a video for the first Portal and just stuck different narration over it. I'm going to do some digging to find out. *Edit* - Okay, I can't find it, if it even existed, but the part that REALLY seemed familiar to me was the bullets filling up the inside of the turret, and then spilling out when they cut it in half. The whole thing seemed pretty familiar, but that was the part that made me go "I've definitely seen this before." Semi-relatedly, "That's 65% more bullet per bullet" is one of the funniest things I've ever heard.
