E3 Predictions 2020: No E3 Edition
TheMightyEthan replied to TheMightyEthan's topic in General Gaming Chat
Counter prediction: Sony will not mention VR at all. Not that there won't be a PS5VR, but they won't talk about it for quite some time. -
Yeah, didn't Catherine Classic release on PC about the same time Full Body released on console?
-
Yeah, I know it's not P6, that was my attempt at being completely ridiculous in my optimism. I will totally jump on the P4G bandwagon though.
-
Bah, I want to get my hopes up but you are dragging them down into the muck of reality. I think it's Persona 6, and will be a simultaneous PC and PS5 launch.
-
@MetalCaveman Man, I really liked the first two Darksiders, but you're sure making me glad I never played 3. @deanb Yeah, any time a game requires me to remember something like that I always just take a screenshot. That's what I had to do with the safe codes in Persona 5.

Halo 2 Anniversary PC Halo 2 was always my least favorite of the Bungie Halo games, but it's actually better than I remembered it. I was posting on Twitter and Discord about how the Arbiter missions aren't good, but really it's only the first one. The ending is still absolutely horrible on its own, but obviously the blow is lessened substantially now by the existence of Halo 3 and the knowledge that I won't have to wait years and years to finish the game. Anyway, I don't actually know how to assign this a star rating, since it's got so much tied up with it, so instead I will just post my ranking of the Halo series: After several minutes of trying I've learned that's impossible too, so instead I will just say that I no longer consider this game worse than the other Bungie Halos (again, other than the ending). They all have their individual upsides and downsides, and this definitely fits in with the rest.

Super weird. I was also listening to System of a Down earlier because of the latest episode of 12tone, which analyzes Chop Suey. -
Well, everything in the US is just peachy. Yessir, no problems here.
-
I heard it on the Kinda Funny Games podcast, but here's a link to a Polygon story about it: https://www.polygon.com/2018/7/9/17548666/uncharted-nathan-drake-bullet-damage-luck
-
So I just learned yesterday that apparently in Uncharted when the screen is turning red it's not to indicate that Drake is getting shot and taking damage, it's to indicate that his luck is running out and he's about to get shot. That completely solves the problem with him being almost completely immune to bullets. It's genius, and I don't know why they didn't make it clear that that's what's happening.

E3 Predictions 2020: No E3 Edition

You're correct, Killzone 2 was a PS3 launch title. Killzone Mercenary was a Vita title, but it wasn't a launch title, and it wasn't developed by Guerrilla Games, it was developed by Guerrilla Cambridge, which was actually just Sony Computer Entertainment Cambridge that they rebranded for Mercenary. I agree it won't be called Horizon: Zero Dawn 2, but Horizon: Some Other Subtitle. ? -
I've actually been playing on PC primarily for the last couple years, but 99% of the games I play are also on console, and the ones that aren't I can take or leave. Actually, looking back at the games I've beat in 2018, 2019, and 2020 (so far), and only 3 are PC exclusive. They were all good games, but they're not worth maintaining a gaming PC for.
-
I've been thinking about my gaming habits recently with the new consoles coming up, and I think I may be done with PC gaming. It's been ages and ages since there's been a PC-exclusive that I absolutely must have, and I could get both new consoles for around the same price as upgrading my PC to compete with them (I'm assuming around $1000, which is probably actually not enough to upgrade my PC). I don't know when my gaming habits changed, but it's pretty marked now that I'm really paying attention to it.

E3 Predictions 2020: No E3 Edition
TheMightyEthan replied to TheMightyEthan's topic in General Gaming Chat
So Sony delayed their event, so it will still be a while before we find out if that controller is white or black. I do want to add a Sony prediction though: they will show something to do with HZD2. It might just be a logo, or a mention that they're working on it, but something will be there. -
Yeah, using the Insurrection Act to suppress riots wouldn't be completely without precedent, although in 1992 it was at the request of the California governor. The last time it was used without the consent of the state government was in 1957 when the courts ordered the Little Rock, Arkansas schools to desegregate, and the governor deployed the national guard to prevent desegregation, then the president deployed the army to move the national guard units out of the way and enforce the desegregation order. *Edit - And I see there was another page I missed...
-
I keep going back to it, and no matter how I look at it I can't see it as anything other than black.
-
Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan It was decent. I managed to make it through with only one character dying, and that one died because of something I did that I should have known would kill them. I liked how much shorter it was than Until Dawn, but I didn't like the setup as much as that one. The biggest problem though is there was basically no falling action, and not even really a climax, we just suddenly escaped, the end. It felt super abrupt and unsatisfying. There really wasn't even any ending cutscenes to kind of give that sense of resolution to the characters. The other thing I didn't like, and this is a huge spoiler, is That's just my own personal preference though, nothing I could say the game actually did wrong. Overall I'd give it a 3/5. The trailer for the next one looks more promising though.
-
That's too bad, I really liked the first two.
-
I asked my wife without suggesting a color and she said it was black, but then when I explained the dispute and showed her the other picture she said it's probably The Dress 2. ?
-
Lol, what are you talking about? That's the same black one.
-
I understand how color works, but if the image were dark enough to make the white parts look that dark then you wouldn't be able to see the dark parts at all, but you can clearly see both the sticks and PS logo. We know at least those parts are black from the original image, and in this one they're no darker than the supposedly white parts at the top. The light part around the very top is just what black plastic looks like when lit with the predominantly blue light from a TV in an otherwise dark room. You know, a common lighting situation for controllers. I'm not saying they got rid of the white controller, just that the one in this particular picture is black. Which lines up with what a lot of people were predicting that there would be multiple colors.
