  1. Agreed. I find it amusing, but beyond that I don't actually care.
  2. Yeah, when not talking about fighting specifically "jab" is used as a generic term for any starp strike, but usually implies more of a poke than something than would do actual damage. So for instance, someone might jab you with their finger, as dean said, or a pencil, or pretty much any hand-held object. If they jab you with a knife it would imply that they just got you with the tip of it, and while you might be bleeding it's probably not terribly serious. tl;dr: "jab" seems to mean the same thing in the US and UK, with the exception that we don't use it to refer to getting injections. An injection here is "a shot."
  3. My friend had an old CRT from like the early 80's, and when he turned it on you could *feel* it instantly, even if you weren't facing it. It was unpleasant.
  4. I like Gametrailers, because even if their opinion differs from mine (they like it and I don't, or vice versa) they still provide the kind of information I need in order to tell if I will like it. So even though I don't always agree with their conclusions (especially the numbers at the end), they're still immensely helpful to me in deciding whether I'll like a game or not.
  5. I wouldn't mind taking it off your hands...
  6. Yeah, I bought the screens a year apart from each other. I would have bought another one of the Dell 23 inch ones, cause I love it so much (fantastic color quality), but they didn't sell it anymore. *Edit* - As for the voice chat, my friends and I always just jump in a Steam group voice chat. No PTT necessary.
  7. I don't think I've ever gotten motion sickness from a game. 3D movies always give me a slight headache for the first 10 minutes or so, until my eyes adjust, but after that those are fine too.
  8. Don't get dizzy. And with insurance you end up paying more for the little stuff, but it's to protect you from the big stuff. Like a car wreck or whatever.
  9. Okay, managed to get the client installed. Picture quality is still really fuzzy, but I'm playing it on a monitor so maybe it's less noticeable on a TV.
  10. Ah, found a workaround for the login problem: I went to their support page, that let me log in, which also logged me in on the main site. *Edit* - or not, it signs me back out again as soon as I try to get to the client to d/l it. Well this is really fucking frustrating.
  11. It's certainly possible that they've upgraded the service since I tried it over the summer. *Edit* - And I can't test it because their login page isn't working (tried it in Chrome, FF, and IE).

  13. Yeah, at first I thought it was a translation issue, but the article linked said it came from Atlus' US PR, so I assumed they were competent at English and that it wasn't due to translation.
  14. Except most of the newer games aren't on their "all you can eat" service, you actually have to buy them.
  15. There's nothing wrong with the box art itself, it's just all the crap covering it up that's the problem.
  16. I love how they're acting like people are misinterpreting them. "No plans at this time" means you don't have any plans to do it, ever. Obviously you could change that, and make plans in the future, but as it stands now that statement means you fully intend to leave it as Japan only. Their later comments make it seem like though they are planning to release it, just not right now, and they're like "you misinterpreted." No, fuckers, if you are planning to release it in North America, even eventually, then saying you have "no plans at this time" is a lie. Learn English.
  17. I've tried it. In my experience the latency is too high to make action games very playable, with about 1/3 to 1/2 second between hitting the control and seeing the result on screen. Also the video quality isn't great. The graphics are fine, but the compression makes everything feel soft. I tried Just Cause 2 on OnLive, then I tried it on my 360 connected to the same monitor and I was shocked at how much clearer everything was on the 360. So you're better off playing on a console than playing on OnLive. I think the tech is promising, but it's not quite there yet.
  18. Yeah, I think that's just the angle with the playstation reflecting the blank wall behind it.
  19. The (currently) last page of a 98-page thread of speculation about the Arrival DLC on Bioware's forums: http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/103/index/6128586/98
  20. Well here's my desk: Left monitor is used for my PC, right monitor generally has my 360 hooked up to it, but I move my PS3 over when I'm playing something on that. Then there's the TV area: It has the other 360, the one my fiancee uses, the PS3 (when it's not on my desk), and the Wii hooked up to it. Rock band components are kept in the Rock Band box beside my desk, which you can see a little of in the lower-left of the picture.
  21. The only ones I can pick out are Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Halo: Reach.
  22. I'll post mine too as soon as I get home from school.
  23. That's stupid. I might want to play a mage at some point, but fuck I hated Carver.
