  1. Sounds fun to me. I can't do it until at least Monday though, since I will be at my parents' this weekend.
  2. Oh yeah, I do that too. I hate it when it doesn't give you an autosave option on exit. *save* *quit* "Are you sure you want to quit? All unsaved progress will be lost." *cancel* *save* *quit* "Are you sure you want to quit? All unsaved progress will be lost." ... I also hate it when there's no confirmation that a save has occurred. Dead Space on PC is this way. I go to the save point, select a slot, hit save, and the menu just closes without actually indicating that it saved, so then I always have to reopen the save list so I can verify that it's in there.
  3. I remember when it first came out it was a PITA to get it to work with the 360 pad. Has that gotten better since then?
  4. Here I was thinking, "Pffft, there's definitely been good pun runs since the date of this exchange... Oh wait... It never ends... IT. NEVER. ENDS." Truly an epic in the realm of punfests. Haha, good times.
  5. I will agree with calls that games should support both.
  6. Why does a video card need a carrying case? Do people frequently remove them from the computer and carry them around? "In other news, a local man was fatally shot by police after attempting to rob a bank with what was later determined to be a high-end video card. An officer on the scene was quoted as saying it would have been cheaper for the suspect to just use a real gun."
  7. I've never heard "sticky tape", but it's pretty self-explanatory. "Tape" is common here for scotch/selotape, and I've also heard "clear tape". Duct tape is the same. Apparently "parcel tape" = "packing tape", electrical tape is the same. Is masking tape called the same thing, or is that what you call gaffer's tape?
  8. Yeah, I only know selotape because of Flight of the Conchords.
  9. Only Japanese? That makes me a sad panda.
  10. I save all the fucking time if games will let me. Like, before and after I do anything. "I'm about to open this door." *save* "I opened the door, nothing bad happened." *save* etc etc etc I don't keep millions of saves though, I usually have about 10-15 and then I start overwriting the oldest one each time. I learned that from Fallout 3 because I had so many saves in that game that any time I tried to open the save/load menu it would seriously take 30 seconds to a minute to load the list. I do though always keep a save from before this "part" of the game, in case I don't like what I did and want to go back. So for instance in Mass Effect that means I keep a save from before I land on each planet, which I then overwrite once I leave the planet. This is intended to prevent stuff like phallus' KotOR experience.
  11. Has anyone tried to download the Japanese PSN demo yet? If so, does it support English?
  12. Tried the demo. Cool idea, but it doesn't really seem fun to me. I think it's just that I don't like the type of game though, and not any particular criticism of this specific game.
  13. Yeah, I prefer the two-gun method over the gun+pistol method.
  14. I added a poll. I prefer matchmaking. It's just so much more convenient. I actually really like how Starcraft II does it: it's matchmade, but if you want to play a custom gametype those are all listed in a gametype browser, so you hit "join game", pick the type you want, and it throws you in a game. I think it's a good combination of the advantages of servers combined with the advantages of matchmaking.
  15. Only some games. Starcraft for instance, and I love it. And that's why I said I like matchmaking better instead of saying I like console multi better.
  16. Ah yeah, I prefer matchmaking over server lists too, I guess I just can't imagine preferring it enough to buy two copies.
  17. You can still play multiplayer on the PC, so I don't really see why that's a reason to get both.
  18. Here's how you solve the problem: track down the dev team of the portable Uncharted and kill all of them.
  19. I know the guys you're talking about, Strange. My tactic is to shoot them before they jump on me.
  20. By "non-traditional" I mean parents and sisters and such people, not the kinds of games it can run. I think those are the kind of people who will go "ooh 3D!" but then look at the PSP2 and be like "Okay, so why is this better?"
  21. I think you're right that this has everything the core wants, but I think the 3DS will probably do better with "non-traditional" gamers, just like the Wii.
  22. The thing that turns me off to this more than anything is that with the PSP there is absolutely no comfortable way to hold it such that I can both support its weight and still use all the buttons. This one looks bigger and heavier than the PSP, so I am skeptical that that problem has been addressed.
