  1. I had to give away the gift I got for my step-brother. I got him both Mass Effect 1 and 2 on PC on the Steam sale, but then I had to tell him that he shouldn't buy it himself. So I didn't actually tell him straight out that I bought it for him, but I'm pretty sure he put 2 and 2 together. I'm just glad he asked me before he bought them.
  2. I'll probably buy that when the price drops/it goes on ridiculous Steam sale. It looks like it could be cool, but I've never been a big fan of adventure games like that.
  3. I've only given/received Steam stuff, and that's mostly because 1) it's only on sale for a day, 2) it's too inconvenient to delay delivery, and 3) if I did delay delivery there's a decent chance they'll buy it for themselves.
  4. That's why I said I could see giving it to an acquaintance or something.
  5. Yeah, I could see giving a lottery ticket to an acquaintance, or as a little throw-away addition to a real gift.
  6. Logitech G500. Bought it a couple weeks ago. Like Dean's, it has adjustable weights. I got it because as I got back into PC gaming more I started to encounter games that had more functions than I could comfortably/quickly use on the keyboard, and this mouse has 3 thumb buttons which are fantastic for that. Also can store 5 user-set sensitivities, so I can adjust it for different tasks.
  7. Well honestly, stuff you're giving to other people could just go in the post your purchases thread, since you purchased it...
  8. Why do you have to kill everyone? Why not kill the paragon people and keep the renegade people (like Zaeed and Jack) alive?
  9.     Yeah, that got me the first time.
  10. Pirate, this is about gifts you've received. Though it might not be a bad idea to make a giving thread too.
  11. So, even though it's still a couple days before Christmas, I thought I'd start this thread for what you've received. This isn't just for Christmas though, in an effort to be less culture-centric this is for any gifts you've received during the "holiday season", regardless of the specific event/holiday they are celebrating. I'll start: Thanks for increasing my backlog Dean! Jerk.
  12. When I saw you it was like my world hard froze.
  13. I have not yet found the emote that adequately expresses how hilarious and awesome this is.
  14. How new is "new"? I'm sure a lot of people have older multiplayer games.
  15. Thanks D-K. I responded to clown before I read any of the other replies in the thread. *Edit* - This was my 666th post...
  16. The thing with it marking all of them as read has happened to me I think twice. I was having a lot of problems with the unread stuff not working right when the forum was brand new, but it seems to have quit happening over the last week or so.
  17. That's funny, it definitely gave me my Zelda fix. @McFlufferton: I paid $45 for the 360 version, and was not disappointed. $10 would definitely be worth it, especially if it works with a game pad.
  18. I want to join, but I cannot until later. Going out to lunch with my fiancee. This is not meant to imply that I don't want to go out to lunch with my fiancee.
  19. So, with all this talk of Festivus I'm tempted to make an "Airing of the Grievances" thread, but I know that it would not end well.

Hating things as a collective is a bonding exercise, Ethan. The enemy of the enemy is my friend..

It's like they just let everyone be a mod these days..

  20. Is there a way to view more than a user's 3-4 most recent posts on their profile? Like, a way to see all of them?
  21. When a game's cutscenes are in-engine, but for some reason instead of showing them in real-time they have them prerendered anyway. Seriously, why would you do that? It just makes the cutscenes look worse cause they have compression artifacts and shit. Enslaved did it, but it's even more noticeable in Batman: AA (both games I've been playing this week). In Batman it's like they smeared vaseline all over the digital lens before recording the cutscenes.
  22. This is a reverse example, but I still think it bears mentioning: the upcoming Battleship movie. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battleship_(film)
  23. No, just the article. The article lied, didn't it? I hate it when they do that. *Edit* - I do understand that the court said that modding the game was not copyright infringement, though.
  24. They ruled that gamers do not own their games, they merely license them (provided that the EULA is written properly). If it's just a license, then the publisher, as the licensor, can write into the license that it is nontransferable, which means I can't sell the game to another person.
