  1. Has anyone played Hydrophobia since that huge update? If so, is it worth it now?
  2. 2, 3, Reach, 1. I'm not counting the online, just sp. If I add in ODST, it goes to: 2, ODST, 3, Reach, 1. I liked Reach, but it was really on its own. I really wanted it to be a blatant book copy, and it wasn't. I like it, but mainly for the online (which I like best out of the series). It's a very hard question to answer. Yeah, I was ranking them based just on the campaign too. I'm not that big into multiplayer games, though.
  3. The ME2 box is hand-drawn/painted, and the foreshortening is terribad. Look at Miranda's arm, or the gun Shepard is holding. The content of the picture isn't awful, but it's really poorly executed.
  4. I think the ME2 one is pretty bad just because the art is so awful. The foreshortening is just terrible. The Heavy Rain one is bad because of the retarded expressions on their faces, and in that it compares so poorly to the European box art:
  5. I would rank the Halo games as follows: Reach > 3 > 1 > 2 (just personal preference, I'm not trying to state objectively which is better) I can't figure out where I'd put ODST, just cause it's different enough from the others.
  6. So I beat 3D Dot Game Heroes last night. Haven't decided what's up next. I'm leaning toward Shadow Complex, I think.
  7. I liked Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, but that was a while ago...
  8. I wouldn't say the Portal 2 one is great, but it's not just awful either. It's meh. I do find it amusing that the fat one is staring directly at the skinny one's crotch though. :horny:
  9. N64 GCN Wii Gameboy (color) Gameboy Advance DS Lite PS3 PC Xbox Xbox 360 iPod Touch (I marked iPhone)
  10. The side of the road thing is before automobiles. I believe it's to do with having people pass on your right so you could grab your sword if they were a threat. The explanation I've heard was that coach drivers used their right hands for their whips, and so they drove on the left to avoid accidentally clobbering pedestrians in those narrow streets of yours.
  11. IIRC, the u was never actually "dropped". For a long time spelling was never really standardized, and Merriam-Webster promulgated some proposed standardized spellings around the same time Oxford did. Americans adopted Webster's and the UK adopted Oxford's.
  12. It's a z sound when we say it... UK pronunciation: ad-VER-tissmint US pronunciation: adver-TIZE-mint I believe I got the emphasis correct on the UK one... Also, short form UK = advert, US = ad.
  13. I don't understand the appeal of hooking a PC up to a TV. 23 inch monitor that I sit 2.5 feet away from beats out a 50 inch TV that I sit 10-15 feet from. I even have my 360 and PS3 hooked up to a monitor instead of a TV, though that is partly so I'm not always hogging the TV. I do love how standardized 360 pad support has gotten for certain kinds of games though. For FPS or RTS give me a kb/m, but for games like Batman: Arkham Asylum or racing games I'll take a pad any day.
  14. http://board.pressxordie.com/index.php?/topic/85-skin-suggestions/page__view__findpost__p__6214 There's the skin. That's your post, btw.
  15. @Kenshi: Yeah, I realized that later, but at the time it looked like a spoiler. "In the final mission you do X."
  16. This. Games I say I hate I haven't usually played to completion, but I have played them.
  17. I picked PC, though if you'd asked me a month or two ago I would have said 360. People always say Sony has the best exclusives, and while I can acknowledge intellectually that that's probably true, I'm just not really interested in most of them. Now I've got a PC capable of playing new games again, and so I'm shifting back that direction.
  18. Is there a way to change it so that images inside spoiler tags will auto resize? Also, I thought we already had a white and blue background picked out for January.
  19. So, as you may have guessed, this is a thread for people to list what games they've beat in 2011. Please only list games you've never beat before this year, games you've beat before and then played again don't count. Also feel free to add thoughts on it. I'll start: 3D Dot Game Heroes. It was a lot of fun, more than I expected. Even though it was marketed as a parody, and it clearly is actually a parody, it's a surprisingly solid game on its own merits. I loved all the references to old games strewn throughout, and there was one at the end in particular that was my favorite (minor minor spoiler):
  20. The season/series thing confused me when I was first exposed to it too. In American usage, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek Voyager are different series, each one consisting of multiple seasons.
  21. All I expected out of Fable III was that it would basically be Fable II with a little bit of new stuff added. I was still let down. I mean, I enjoyed the game okay, but not as much as either of the first two.
