There were times in Dead Space when I didn't want to enter the next area cause I knew something horrible would happen to me. But yeah, I get what you mean, I was more scared of what was going to happen to me than actually scared of the necromorphs in and of themselves.
-
Oh, no, I did that. I don't remember what was so special about it though, except that you get the ray of life or whatever (which has limited uses, wtf is that about?!).

If you only own a license then you have no right to transfer that license. Use game sales become illegal if the publishers decide that's what they want.

The first one wasn't psychologically scary, but I was tense the whole fucking time. They did a good job of making sure you never quite felt safe. Like... I know I'm probably safe, but I can't ever let my guard down, because the instant I do they're going to fuck me over.

Voices don't play in the single-player. Luckily it didn't manifest until after I'd beat the story, so all I missed out on was a little bit of talking in the Truth artifact things, but at least I had subtitles.

Are you referring to Spore? The space stage was my least favorite part. The game is slowly building into a more and more complex strategy game, and then all of a sudden I have to try to manage a vast interstellar empire with a single ship? WTF? I still liked the game quite a bit though.

I still want them to acknowledge that the glitch that makes it so that no voices play, but all other sounds work fine, is a problem with the game and not a problem with my PS3. Fuckers.

There were a couple. -
Yeah, I'd definitely recommend the base game for $7.50, not the complete pack though. The add-ons don't really add anything of value.
-
I merged HotChops' Dead Space 2 Demo thread with this one, since so far we've mostly been talking about the demo in here anyway. *Edit* - On topic, I'm skeptical about the multiplayer, but I'll give it a shot. Like Jack points out, I was also very skeptical about the AC:B multiplayer, but that turned out to show some real promise.

Have you been playing Enslaved by any chance?
-
It's $4.99 on the NA PSN. @StaySICK: Yeah, Revenge on the 360 was my favorite. I got 5 stars or whatever the highest rating is on every single event in the game.
-
This one felt faster to me. It felt like Isaac moved and aimed much faster than in the original. But yeah, overall they really kept the feel of the original game, which is fan-fucking-tastic in my opinion.

Bad climbing animations were probably my biggest problem with Enslaved. Honestly, I could deal with the fact that you weren't like... doing anything, during the climbing segments, and might not even have noticed, if the animations had just been fluid.

OMG 1000 TIMES THIS! -
Yeah, I always do the "what I want to do" playthrough first, but then after that I did other runthroughs to see how things turn out differently if you do.
-
This. I'd be okay with random crew members dying, but I don't want any of my squadmates dying.

games that have made you cry.

No, because it was on the PS1, and I did not have enough room on the memory card. -
That's not actually accurate, that gets back to what I was saying earlier about the FCC reclassifying the internet. Previously, the FCC had classified ISPs as something else (I don't know all the legal specifics) which it did not have the authority to regulate, and so when it tried to regulate them the court said that they can't do that. Now the FCC has reclassified ISPs into the same grouping as telephone companies, and they do have the authority to regulate that classification. So unless and until the courts say that that is an improper classification, the FCC rules will stand. And it is unlikely that the courts will do that, because the FCC has broad discretion to classify methods of communication.

Unless you're a gunner. If you're a gunner and you get hit by a product grenade just keep shooting like nothing happened. 50-60% of the time you'll kill the tank that hit you with it, and they'll only kill you about 15-20% of the time. My hypothesis is that if you keep shooting like nothing happened they assume that they missed or it didn't affect you, and so run away and hide.

Haha, are we in a Steam gifting war now? Don't make me gift you Civ V. *Edit* - Also, Dirt 2 is freaking gorgeous. PC truly is God's platform.

How can you say that getting rid of traffic checking was a good thing? That was a major mechanic. Also, Crash Mode and Traffic Attack were two of my favorite modes, and neither one really made it into Paradise. It was like the devs went "What does Ethan really like about our games? Let's take all that out."

Similar thing happened to me in Tales of Destiny. There's a ring that you can put on any of the companions, which lets the 2nd controller control that companion in battle. So my friend and I were having an awesome time playing through the game together. Then the jerk up and turns evil and leaves the party, taking my motherfucking ring with him. I didn't play the game for like 2 years after that.
