So, now that I've finished the demo, I can safely say that it's just as heart-hurty as the original.

I don't like how they changed the aiming reticule. In the first one it was actually projected into the world, so you could see it move as you pointed it at different surfaces at different distances from you, but now it's just a sprite on the hud. At least it's still different for each gun though. And is it just me, or are the skin textures on the necromorphs much lower resolution than they were in the first?

Yeah, I haven't played it yet (still waiting on the download), but my impression was that they were trying to make it more action oriented for some segments.

I couldn't tell you what the backstory for a single one of my Shepard's was. I decide the Shepard I want to play, and then pick the backstory that I think fits that the best, I don't try to conform my play to my backstory at all.

That seems weird to me. In both games I basically created my own identity from scratch anyway, the backstory in Fallout 3 did nothing to increase my immersion.

Okay, when you said "story" I took it to mean "plot" rather than "backstory." I think that whether you like the backstory in Fallout 3 or the lack thereof in New Vegas is just a personal preference thing, but that the plot to New Vegas is significantly better than the plot of Fallout 3.

Fallout 3 had the better story? The main story to Fallout 3 was like an afterthought. It's like 3 quests.

Finished Enslaved. Decent game, glad I didn't pay full price though. And the stuff I've already played through, like ME, is low-priority. I just put it on here cause I was outlining what I would finish in an ideal world. Like I said in the OP, I know I'm not going to get through even close to all of these. And Dragon Age DLC + Awakening is not going to take the whole break. I played through all of Origins like 3 times last Christmas.
