  1. I just played some Amnesia with all the lights out, and it's 1:00 in the morning here. I'm not exaggerating, and I literally vomited with fear.

    1. TheForgetfulBrain

      TheForgetfulBrain

That fear effect that makes the screen all woozy can't have helped.

    2. SomTervo

      SomTervo

It only gets worse, as well. Get a bucket ready for all playsessions ahead

  2. Anthem by Ayn Rand Chronicles Vol. 1 by Bob Dylan Rendezvous With Rama by Arthur C. Clarke Blood Meridian or The Evening Redness in the West by Cormac McCarthy Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami
  3. Legend of Legaia, at the recommendation of several forum-goers, and SaGa Frontier II, both from a great store in Seattle called Pink Gorilla. If you live in Seattle, go there. I'm going there tomorrow to buy a rechargeable Genesis portable and both Digital Devil Sagas, as well as possibly a Japanese copy of FFXIII, if only for the non-shitty cover art.
  4. Uhhhh, shit! Shadow Force? Shadow Watch? Shadow Defenders?
  5. Shiiiiiit, my friend had this game! Fuck, it was something like Shadow Patrol? Shadow Defence?
  6. It's dawning on me that we (the Seahawks) are fucked on Saturday. We should have just thrown that fucking NFC West game so we could have a decent draft pick and draft JAKE LOCKER.

I don't follow sports, but isn't that the team with more losses than wins that still made the playoffs?

USC will beg Pete Carol to come back, and you'll actually get someone competent (hopefully). You'll be fine.

  7. PS3 is the tops, for me. I had a fling or two with the 360, played around with the Gears of War games, some Halo, but to me, Uncharted, Resistance and Killzone (among many, many others), are just superior. Meanwhile the 360 is FORCING you to pay $60 a year just to play with your friends. I'll admit, Xbox Live does have cross-game chat, but other than that, I can't see a single advantage the PS3 doesn't have. But PCs are the best. There's really no disputing that.
  8. Second one's a day one purchase for me. Thoroughly enjoyed the first, and the new setting seems good, especially since I partially grew up in New Orleans. The production values look to have increased, too, and they got rid of that ridiculous redesign, so all signs point to awesome.
  9. Korea may have the 4th Largest army in the world, but keep in mind they're experiencing a crippling famine and the average male height is 4'10. Not just that, but America's missiles are better and in more abundance. Almost any missile attack from North Korea wouldn't be able to make it across the Pacific before getting shot down, let alone the thousands upon thousands of planes and ships it would take to bring over a fighting force large enough to conquer the Pacific seaboard alone. Nowadays, large-scale, non-urban warfare is a very different animal, one which the US pretty much has domination in.
  10. I liked Shadow the Hedgehog, especially the whole branching paths thing. I played that game a few times through and had good fun with it. Also, Divinity II. People beat up on that game, but it's really great. Especially if you play Dragon Knight Saga over Ego Draconis, it made a ton of improvements.
  11. Seahawks NFC West champs! Saints don't stand a chance!

    1. staySICK

      staySICK

division champs with a losing record.

      *golf clap*

  12. Both Mass Effects are on my backlog, and I want to play through them both again before ME3 comes out. I lost all my save data on my PS3, so I'm replaying FFXIII just for the hell of it, and I'm gonna play through HL2 with the cinematic mod... at some point. At this point, really, what's taking up most of my time is FFVI, which I have on a gba emulator on my ipod touch. Jesus Christ, that fucking game is incredible. Someone needs to remake THAT.
  13. Bakuman is the only manga which I can stand these days.
  14. http://steamcommunity.com/id/brainhurtboy Just a warning, I'm friending EVERYONE.
  15. Haha, slagging it off. Brits.
  16. Well, CoP takes place directly after SoC, so it has more of a sequel vibe. I'm assuming they're just trying to hook people with a super-long adventure that doesn't jump around in time or setting, so they hope you'll play through these two and THEN Clear Sky. I did it that way and it didn't make much of a difference for me.
  17. Kind of a noob to Kotaku and its vast, rich history, so can someone please fill me in as to why dean was banned? I hear it was a huge controversy and there was an article where everyone vented their rage? I'd like to read that article, so linkage would be much appreciated.

Please stop fucking with me I'm actually curious. If the Kotaku editors called FFIX overrated, I don't know if I'm even going to read it anymore.

If what D-K said is true, dean is one tough badass.

    3. D-K

      D-K

That's what the british are known for, right? being tough badasses?

Also a hefty display of disposable income for Dean to take an overnight continental trip with a bag of pooh, just to make a statement. Quite a man, that Dean

He offered up some constructive criticism, they didn't like it, banned him, others ragequit for solidarity. I don't have any links, though.

  18. Tron Legacy, True Grit, King's Speech, Space Needle for fireworks, all with drinks interspersed.
  19. PROOOOOOJEEEEEEECT SYYYYYYLPHEEEEEEEEEEEED. Play that game. And Live-A-Live. Do it, be unique and awesome.
  20. Don't worry I wasn't an avid member or do the group chat thing or anything, I just kind of joined arbitrarily. I never understood that beef anyway. What's that even about? And no, not a designer. Too much actual work. I used to write copy when I actually had a stable job, but now I don't even know what I do.
  21. We often say hyphy here, as well, but only sarcastically when making fun of Bay Area people. Not that we're any better.
  22. The only place I've ever been with a widespread Chick-Fil-A presence is Bangalore, India. Also, the only cola they had available was TaB. I'm not dissing on TaB, it's my favorite cola, but even so... it's a bit weird. I just got back from a lunch with some friends at the only dim-sum place in Seattle that speaks Mandarin, and I am absolutely positive the ripped the shit off of us. Seriously, that was the most expensive dim sum I've ever eaten. Cantonese has proven useless to me so far.
  23. I was highly intoxicated many years ago when I made my original Xbox Live account's original name, which was where my current one originated. I have no god damn idea why I did it, and honestly can't even recall that week, let alone that night, but I at first hated it. I changed it immediately and continued on with my life, and eventually dumped the Xbox until many years later, I got reminded of it and decided to rebrand myself, as my newest moniker was the awful 'CrunkInThisClub'. So I grabbed the name, and picked up the 2, which I also have the intention of putting :Electric Boogaloo afterward, but this plan always falls through for one reason or another.
