  1. The next Beta is from Monday to Sunday, and it's completely open(!!!). So everyone here at TAY if they have even the slightest interest should give it a try and hop on the Deepstrike server. I'll see what we can do about making a guild if there's significant interest.
  2. I felt jipped when I played GTA IV. All my friends and all the review sites called it the best game ever, but it was weirdly unenjoyable. I still maintain, however, that Radio Broker in that game is the greatest game soundtrack of all time.
  3. The Beta is so god damned amazing. Though all I use is the shotgun.
  4. Rift is... awesome. And the first expansion pack will probably take a year or two to drop, so you have plenty of time. Forgetfulbrain, the next Beta is from next monday to next sunday, so I'll probably be hitting the cap.
  5. New copy of Digital Devil Saga coming in the mail tomorrow. I am excite.

I have that one! Doesn't work on my PS3 though.....maybe I'll try the PC emulator

  6. Unless they bring back a 'Classic' view, I'm leaving Kotaku. I can't support the place. I like it here, anyways, and I can get my news from Joystiq and my RSS Feed. It's just unfortunate. I'm having trouble doing the most basic things, like navigation.
  7. Kotaku... is... not good.

  8. Are fish and chip shops common in the USA? I only imagine them being popular in the UK. Over here in Seattle, all burger joints, excluding chains, have to have Fish and Chips, so fish and chip shops in particular aren't too popular, but it's not hard to find fish and chips at all. There is ONE fish and chips place in Seattle, though, and that's Pike Fish Fry, which is very good. They have curry ketchup, which is the only condiment I will ever need for the rest of my life.
  9. Well, it's basically a Fantasy MMO, but it differentiates itself from having awesome, large-scale world events and insanely deep character progression, as well as looking just beautiful. Anyway, how does the whole 'making real world money' thing work in EVE?
  10. They fixed the issues you had in later Betas. They now have a public group system where you can just click something at the top and auto-join a group. Figuring out the process of opening rifts is fairly simple. Basically there's a sort of 'pre-Rift' called a tear, and a player uses an ability to turn it into a full-blown Rift, where players will either band together to fight off the Rift, or will be replaced by AI Soldiers, which I've only experienced once for a moment. Most of the time soldiers band together to fight them off, since there are very high-stakes, high-quality rewards from fighting off rifts. Also, Rifts eventually close themselves, but another thing, called invasions, occur, which don't close themselves and consist of several rifts opening. They take considerably more people to overwhelm and often require a battle plan. They can not be summoned by players and happen maybe thrice a day.
  11. I miss Cornettos. The only ice cream I ate in India, Singapore and Hong Kong. Anyway, we have Drumsticks here, and there's a type of them that is identical to a Cornetto. So yes, we do, in a sense, have Cornettos, since they look and taste identical. Also, don't you guys call arugula 'rocket'? And eggplants are 'aubergines' and sometimes 'melongenes'. Arugula and Eggplant were the weirdest English differences to me.
  12. I have a 3/0 K/D in Modern Warfare 2... my secret shame. Other than that... I beat Battletoads? I was the best at MvC2 in my arcade in Mongkok when I lived in Hong Kong, and 3rd best at Third Strike, and everyone was pretty god-damned serious there. I got VERY good at Resistance: Retribution after a while... not sure if it means anything, though. I'm honestly pretty bad at most games other than fighting games. I love them, though.
  13. Oh, Jesus, Rift is awesome. Making a pre-order now.

Awesome world events (rifts, invasions), good group finding system, fun war-like PvP, looks very, very pretty, quests are fun, keep my interest, not all just 'kill this many monsters', again, rifts and invasions are awesome, armor looks good, class system is ridiculously deep and customizable, fun and imaginative instances, good sense of progression from area to area, community isn't abrasive, start and mid-game content is solid, haven't gotten to endgame yet, crafting system ...

Shot, Champions Online is my first MMO so I guess I'm a noob to all this! So its good then :)

  14. Haha, in India, Polos were all I fucking ate. Shit's delicious.
  15. Welp, my computer spontaneously lowered its resolution by... a fuckton. Not sure what I should do or why this occurred. I DID upgrade to the latest NVidia Drivers. I have an M11X. Hmmm....

Problem with whether it's using the Intel or the nVidia card? Glad I didn't update mine m11x yet.

Welp, fixed it by downloading new drivers for my integrated graphics. It was Amnesia that was causing the problem. It's OpenGL, so when I play it it automatically switched to my integrated graphics, but apparently the new drivers had a fix for that. Lucky me, I get to play a game I paid for.

  17. SaGa Frontier sucked. SaGa Frontier 2 was very high quality.
  18. Trion is really winning me over with their incredible customer interaction. It's about time for me to end my WoW subscription, anyway.

Well, I'm in the process of obtaining a job soon, so that'll change.

  19. I thought Dead Space got stale and desensitized me... then that regenerator fight rolled around. Oh, boy. I'm shaking in my boots.

  20. PAX Prime I'm going to for certain. So, yeah.
  21. Making Nasi Goreng tonight. Also, someone at work today compared the Confederate Flag to a Swastika and I overreacted a bit, so I might have made another enemy. We'll see how this goes...

I dunno; the Old South was based on the institution of chattel slavery based on race while Nazi Germany was based on similar ideas of racial superiority except that the Nazis wanted to exterminate a particular race. Indeed, the Nazis planned to institute a system of slavery for 'lesser races' like Slavs and Africans.

Yet the extermination of a race was their primary objective, not the utilization of the races for gain of personal wealth. The Confederate Flag stands for the Old South, which had many positive qualities not including slavery and illustrates the pride of a people that take up a large slice of the population. Nazi Germany's positive qualities were few to none, and whatever positive qualities it had are not properly remembered, where the desire for prioritized state's rights is, and fon...

      Mr. GOH!

I dunno. The Old South was based entirely on chattel slavery and awful ideas of primogeniture and class. Nazi Germany was actually mostly about expanding the German sphere of influence and not really about the Holocaust, although the great evil of the Holocaust eclipses any other purpose. Much like the great evil of slavery eclipses any other quality of the Old South.

  22. My favorite game of all time would be... Final Fantasy VI. VI was just an incredibly revolutionary, spectacular game, and it feels strange having to explain why it's so great. The villain was perfect, one of the best I've ever seen, it had an incredible, complex cast of characters, which, though large, was amazingly balanced and so finely tuned to be, if not believable, marvelously entertaining. The game allowed for a great amount of character customization, with no character being shafted with a single class or 'paradigm', and revolutionized the genre and the industry in innumerable ways. The game is spectacular and holds up incredibly even in the modern day. I could genuinely write essays about this game. P.S. Loving the new profile pic, Shaner.
  23. Ha! Oh, Strangelove. You and your ridiculous opinions. Anyway, DDS was amazing, just kind of grindy, and Nocturne is something everyone has to play at some point.
