  1. Anyone play BlazBlue: Continuum Shift? Because I want someone to play with.

    1. Enervation

      Enervation

      I would.

      If I had it. :'(

  2. Brain, you said that in chat as well...but, without playing the game, it looks like there are multiple 100% damage combos (without X-factor) on YouTube already. How practical they are remains to be seen, but my initial impression remains that MvC3 is the kind of game that will be more fun than SSFIV for casual gamers, while SSFIV is the kind of game that will be more fun than MvC3 for people who want to put hundreds of hours into learning the ins and outs of the game, and play at the highest level they can. I wouldn't mind being proven wrong, and I should be holding a copy of the game in my hands before the end of the work week. I'm glad I'm going into the game with relatively low expectations, either the game is roughly what I'm expecting, and I'll have some fun with friends while it lasts, or it will be better than expected and I'll be pleasantly surprised. Dude, the videos you linked me only show people getting taken from, at most, 75 percent health to 25 percent health. The one you showed me that took a character's full health was a TEAM combo, which included hyper moves, which require charges. In terms of actual infinites, as in combos that can go on forever and can be easily repeated over and over without charges, only Akuma has one. No one else. Also, you haven't addressed the fact that there are also infinite combos in Street Fighter IV, with the same character. I'm not saying MvC3 is anywhere as balanced as SFIV, but it's really not a bad game, and the online level of play is actually quite high. I'm sure you'll understand once you play the game, though.
  3. Talking with people who own the game, watching WNF, watching YouTube combo clips and matches, reading about the game...I'm pretty darn sure there are some good arguments for not liking the game. From the looks of it, if you take the game seriously and want to approach it as a competitive fighter, it's pretty easy to get upset at the game. I'm not planning to put several hundred hours in the game or play the game seriously like I did with SFIV/SSFIV, and hopefully that means I'll just have a lot of fun playing friends...but I've already heard enough to have a good idea of why people wouldn't like the game. I guess it might be easy to get upset, but I am a veteran of MvC2, and a hardcore one at that. If we're talking imbalance, then that game is the poster-child. Yet somehow, people managed to play professionally and enjoyed it. My point is that people don't like it for the imbalance, but compared to MvC2, there's none there. Also, Peteer, are you a professional at fighting games? The inputs might be simple, but the combos aren't the easiest thing to pull off. I'll also point out that only one character has an infinite in the entire game, and that same character has an infinite in all three editions of SFIV, a game which you seem to revere. Justin Wong at first didn't like the game, but you can see he came around. I'm confident in the future of the game, and with additional editions inevitably being released, I'm sure the rough patches will be ironed out (i.e. fucking Sentinel!). I have personally played at a very high level of MvC2, and I know that despite a fighting game's imbalance, it's very rare to have something truly game-breaking. There's an article on Shoryuken about this I'd like to link. Read this shit, yo. http://shoryuken.com/content/only-problem-mvc3-you-3694/
  4. Wasteland. Wasteland. Wasteland. Also, if they count, all the Infinity Engine games.
  5. Really? I'm the only one with a Wonderswan OR a Neo Geo Pocket?! Come on, guys!

    Apple

My G3 is still kickin' runs well, and is still rockin' OS 9, which is awesome, but my G5 is on its last legs and I've had to get it fixed a few times. My friends are Mac stalwarts, but their computers break down all the time. Modern Macs have nice build quality and are beautiful, but under the hood don't last very long at all. OS X is alright... I guess. I still prefer anything by Windows, and the fact that it's so god damned difficult to change basic functions of my computer on OS X seriously pisses me off.
  7. My soon-to-be Power Rig, In the Mail Soon: Manufactured by iBuyPower CPU: i7 960 4x 3.20GHz/8MB L3 Cache RAM: 6GB GFX: EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti (weak, but great overclocking) 1 TB HDD Pretty shitty case, but aesthetics aren't my priority. DeathAdder and stock keyboard. Mobo: SLI Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R w/4x PCI-E 2.0 x16 USB 3.0, S-ATA 3.0 RAID LG BLU-RAY Re-Writer, DVD±R/±RW Burner Combo Drive 23" LCD 1920x1080 ASUS VG236H 3D-Ready 120Hz NVIDIA GeForce 3D Vision Bundle Overall, pretty ridiculous and very expensive, but other than the GeForce should last me a while.
  8. Green Lantern looks good. The reason I say this is because it looks less like a superhero movie and more like a comic book. What I'm trying to say is that in making a movie, certain liberties have to be taken, such as removing a lot of the pulp and melodrama and unbelievable characters. Lantern does not, and it seems proud of it. Not to mention the suit looks awesome and exactly how I pictured it, and his powers made a great translation to the big screen. My only concern is that they won't focus enough on the whole 'will' aspect of the Green Lantern. I prefer John Stuart as a Lantern, but considering the new comics, Jordan seems like the logical pick. They have a lot of stuff to draw on in terms of content, and what I'm most excited for is what they might do with a sequel. Blackest Night, anyone?
  9. Awesome for a listen or two, but paying too much attention or overlistening could cause melancholy.

It's really a great game. I suggest doing so. I started following it because it's one of only two sports Indians are actually good at :).

  14. Harvey Birdman Game: VERY Underrated.

Exactly. The whole 'Democracy' thing is being pushed, but people forget that a Democracy can still be corrupt, like Iran, and to a far lesser extent, India. Look at all the groups on the forefront of the political stage in post-protests Egypt; they aren't the brightest or most peaceful bunch. Also, the 'peaceful protests'? I'll admit, maybe 60-70 percent of people were peaceful, but the rest were rioting, plain and simple. There was a picture I saw of a normal man ever...

      staySICK

all governments are corrupt. Look at our own.

Also; certain types of people will seize any opportunity to riot and cause damage and harm. This has been seen countless times throughout history; a movement of peaceful protest will begin, and a group will seemingly join in, only to start rioting and looting at the first opportunity. No matter the cause.

  17. Gah, FUCK Zero! I NEED my Mega-Man fix! In my ideal world Onslaught would be the final boss again and the Blue Bomber would be there instead of Zero.
  18. Trion's really great with their customers, Gooch, so they ought to be able to fix your problem soon enough. Give them at least until about 4 tomorrow. They should have a solution.
  19. Rift is just full of yes.

  20. Nanosaur needs to get on the app store. Same with Diamonds 2.0. I miss OS 9.

    1. Akuam4n

      Akuam4n

Was that the game where you had to get all the dino eggs? I remember that one!

  21. John Hughes... I miss him. I saw... GoodFellas, which was spectacular and The Departed, which was also just incredible. I easily give the edge to GoodFellas, though.
  22. Anyone see how Mike Fahey used the anti-redesign Penny Arcade comic as the headlining image for Sunday Comics?
  23. Well, Penny Arcade hates the new layout, too. It's only a matter of time.

I just tried Kotaku... there's 1 story on the front page. 1. How the hell are you supposed to use that?

      Akuam4n

You can click an icon in the top right; makes it blog style (or so they call it); and then the stories appear one after the other.

Supposed to showcase the top story , and then show 3 others at the bottom. It does make the graphics they use pop out though. They got that part right at least.

    4. Johnny

      Johnny

The blog style is honestly not better.

  24. You know what was awesome? Baten Kaitos.
