If TV and ambient noise is a problem, there is the famous "Jawbone" headset (from Blue Ant?) I've thought about getting one, but really have no use for it for phone or PS3. I've never met a PS3 user with a headset so it's moot.

RockyRan: No, I was talking about this http://www.playstation3headset.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/ps3-bluetooth-official-2.0.jpg

I just need something that's good enough that people can hear what I say, for a cheap price. :P

Oh, right, forgot about that one :P

  2. He's more hardened than the Jack Harkness you know from season 1 of Who. I think it fits well, considering his history. Though I guess they might be exploring that later on, don't really remember.
  3. Like Dean says, Season 3 of Torchwood is far from terrible. It is my favourite part.
  4. @Ethan: I think it should be lower, considering the soundtrack is already recorded to be part of the game. Throwing it on a CD and selling it can't possibly cost them so much that they need to charge the equivalent of an artist whose music is produced to stand on it's own legs. Though I ended up eventually not liking the game too much, I was really impressed when I opened up my copy of Persona 4 to find the full soundtrack included. Not a collector's edition. Just a standard edition picked up way after release for a low price.
  5. I've been saying this for years! Ever listened to the gametrailers podcast? It's hilariously bad.
  6. Which is also one of the most retarded design decisions in the series. I miss the time where the way NPCs would react to different kinds of arguments was based on what type of character they were, not whether you had enough paragon points -.-''
  7. I think this is a case of "damned if you do, damned if you don't." If the DLC character is integrated well into the rest of the game like Javik then people will say "this is central to the game, it should have been included!" Whereas if the DLC is just tacked on and not integrated well like Kasumi and Zaeed of ME2 people will say "this is shoddy work, you should have put more effort into integrating it!" The solution? Don't make characters DLC. I'm fine with extra side missions and mini-expansion style things, but when you start making characters it DLC it gets kind of messy.

Why is there people being snobby about the names of alcoholic drinks in the fitness thread.
  9. Only he is not making an argument for why it is legal, he is making an argument for why he is personally ok with it.
  10. Is the criteria for whether something is good or not really as simple as "It's in the constitution"? O_o
  11. I tend to walk and bike a lot. It's been helping me slowly lose weight over the last year. I usually gain weight under the winter, so I consider my 1 pound loss (I know, huge numbers!) to be a success this year. I would go to a gym... But the cheapest I've found that they would let me in at would cost half my jobseeker's allowance every month. I wish I was kidding. I don't live in a good town for exercising.
  12. Ok, you asked for it: The jawline looks a bit weird. Other than that, it's great. Really great.
  13. In case the PCG article left anything out, all the information is on mmo-champion. I'm not gonna compare to find out though
  14. @Spork: oh, yeah, I like that stuff. And I think the guns in ME3 sound fine.
  15. I'd be fine with it if it was a much larger area and duration. As it is, you either fumble around in the dark or hit Z all the time. Both of those options are tedious.
  16. Personally, I can't stand the sound design in BC2 and BF3. Might be realistic, but I'm not looking for realism. I'd rather have something unrealistic that sounds powerful, than machine guns that sound like super-powered vacuum cleaners
  17. ... What? My complaint is that the medallion is dumb because it makes me mindlessly press z every once in a while. It's boring and dumb game design. It has nothing to do with how positive the effects of pressing z mindlessly is: it could turn everything around me into gold, it would still be a mindless and repetitive task.

... Not really, TN. No matter how you're playing it, it's still a story that builds up towards that ending and puts a great emphasis on that final battle.

You don't have THAT much freedom to define the story.

You don't have that much freedom to define *events*. How your approach those events is up to you.

Eh. You have some options, but the story still generally goes the same. You're still out to rally troops and save the galaxy. The level of freedom is not nearly as high as your Big Lebowski comparison suggests.

  18. Please explain where this accusation that I wasn't using it properly comes from, if you can. The idea that I am using the medallion wrong because I'm only complaining about the annoying parts is honestly one of the most far-fetched accusations I have ever heard.
  19. The fuck? No, I know it did more than that. I just didn't feel the need to list all it's features because I was complaining about the bad parts. How the hell does it's other features make the parts I was talking about less dumb? It doesn't, that's how.

    Isn't most holidays?
  21. The problem was not the complexity of hitting Z. Hitting Z is a very easy task. The problem was the tedium of doing so constantly.
  22. Yeah the medallion is definitely the oddest design decision in the game. If you want to make items glow, just make it an option in the menu or something. Having me walk around pressing Z all the time is duuuumb.
  23. Aaand that trailer kind of reignited my interest in the game. Do we know when the enhanced edition stuff is getting added to the PC version?
  24. Ethan: This is true, and I do try to inform myself of what benefits a particular band before I spend my highly limited cash on them. It's a shame, and a failing of the music industry, that things are that complicated.
