  1. As a person who believed in game hours:money spent ratio (20 hrs:$20), it now really annoys me when people think in that way. Sure it helps by lowering expectations but thinking purely in that way is just insane. Enjoyment should be factored into value.

Really the formula should be (time*enjoyment)/cost. :D

      Mr. GOH!

For me, at a given price point, a game must meet a minimum gameplay time. I think I'm generous with my preferred minimum gameplay times.

$60 games get dinged if they have less than 15 hours, though a superlative 10 hour game may squeak by.

      $40 it's 8 hours.

At $20 it's around 4 hours. Anything under $20, and it just has to be enjoyable for more than an hour.

Some people go by $1/hr. I used to be like that it and its a mind fuck.

  2. This time on Moe Crusaders... Saiba wins but Rin wins betta.

  4. Now the mangaka is just fucking with us in the slice of life offshoot. Next up we'll get a... Also there is the abs again! Edit: FOUND IT. (For you Wally)
  5. That has to be poking fun at stuff like Haruhi where the VAs sing the OP, ED and any character songs. Some of them are actually really good but its odd to think about when you find out they are kind of trained to be "idols". They have to voice the part, sing the part and look and act the part. Its odd as fuck, especially when they act out of line. Aya Hirano is one of the more notable ones. I personally am only aligned to Halko, Momoi Haruko, the (some say the former) Queen of Akihabara. In any case, I got around to Dragon Half. Simple but entertaining. Up next might be Bubblegum Crisis (Old one), Record of Lodoss War (OVA), Madoka or Sora no Woto.
  6. I'll be out of SLO in a year but I'm gunning to be a professor at Cal Poly eventually, despite its problems. At the very least I'll retire around here.
  7. Mikasa is actually ripped. The image that spawned it all though now that I think about it, I'm not sure where the outfit came from. It might have been an adaptation of what she is wearing here. All in all, good fandom material to joke around with.
  8. By request: http://imgur.com/a/DPfle#0 What the album is about: There is also this: http://polsy.org.uk/play/nico/?vidid=&vurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nicovideo.jp%2Fwatch%2Fsm21206180
  9. NY is totally fine if you like the city life. Since I grew up partially in Brooklyn, I can dig it but... SLO life is better. Not a small town but not a large one to the point that you get a suburbs feel. SLO and the surrounding area has enough for you to do if you like the outdoors. If you need a big city, it is only a 3-4 hour drive away. Have family there? Can crash.
  10. Moving to LA (WHY!? LA is the shittest sprawl I've been in), SF or NY? Good luck with rent.
  11. I might regret with what I have just done. Keep PXOD around for two more years and you'll see.

  13. Okay, time to enter the world of tea since I found a cache of usable tea from a club on campus. Most are bagged but it'll work for me for now.

I was hoping for a clip from some ridiculous tea show like what Wally was describing. Too bad.

  14. I haven't heard of one either. I know Saunders Girls High School in Girls und Panzer portrayed an US high school, somewhat. Locker filled hallways is pretty warm but that is the only glimpse there.
  15. Edit: Also to answer your question Waldorf and Statler, I just remember what anime nearly made me cry. Air. ENOUGH SAID. ANYTHING BY THAT STUDIO (GUUUUUUU~ EYES) IS SADNESS FESTS.
  16. Oh yeah. To make the crushing moe/Modern anime syndrome victory on animu more crushing. COME VOTE IN SAIMOE! http://www.internationalsaimoe.com/voting/ Who is the most moe-est this year!? Will your waifu win or will some Rei clone 2000 win? FIND OUT AND CHOOSE HER DESTINY. Mine. WHO ARE ALL THESE PEOPLE!? Also I have some fighting votes in here. Some of you are warned.
  17. Yeah... reminds me of me when I was younger, I just wasn't nearly as bad. Now I'm just scatter brained and socially awkward. With that all said... god, I would help her so much. I too had hopes that going between grade levels and such can magically transform you. It doesn't. You have to go up and go back down repeatedly until you get it down (How I got to where I am). Having people to help you really helps too. GOOD LUCK TOMOKO! ;_; HNNNNNNNNNNNNG
  18. Hopefully with the return of Laharl and company you can put in a hundred hours.
  19. Just kidding. As for an anime that made me cry... none. I just get sad that they ended. I'll be sad for sure when Rozen Maiden is completely completed. It'll mean the end of the gang... now that I think about it Full Metal Alchemist may have came close. There might be something else too... this one may be happy tears but I forget what. Might have something to do with two separated couple or siblings. Sibling conflict, death and such does get to me.
  20. Forever Dragon Slave. If I have to say what my favorite genre (I think I hinted at it enough in all these years. Name my favorite Japanese game franchise.), I have to say the Japanese take on Western high fantasy. Sadly, this genre died back in the 90's and now we get slice of life moe, which is fine but it isn't THIS. It is rare to find any new ones. I seriously got to get back into Slayers. It is a personal sin to not watch it. Is Revolution that bad?
  21. Whoa, I just got an Amber Alert on my phone. When the hell did this start?

Apparently it's just an alert issued by the President, which is vague to say the least. I guess if North Korea invades?

  22. Reviving from the depths! John Woo(esk) gunfights were in my childhood from the moment I become conscious. Now I want the soundtracks of these movies sadly... they are really hard to track down even if they exist.
  23. The Little Witch Academia 2 Kickstarter is bringing up a cringe worthy but interesting idea to my head: Anime series partially funded by Western companies It is cringe worthy since it brings with it the idea that a Western company can dictate how a series can be. Imagine a Funanimation influenced anime? However, let just say that the Western companies are just helping fund a project that their demographics likes or potentially will like. Any alterations will come directly from the Western companies (Dub and any censor). The Western company funding an anime to me is the interesting part and I don't think it happening right now. It would mean that folks outside of Japan can now have a voice in what can pop out. As of right now we are just skimming off what the Japanese like. What we like are potentially localized. For a game example that is sort of similar, think XSEED. They are getting what are popular and localize them. In addition, an anime series partially funded by a Western company could in theory be released simultaneously or near the JPN release. If broadcasted... the West can do a Netflix stream. I'm getting hungry so ending it here... Interesting (Half baked) idea, yes/no? Edit: Hrmm, I'm not sure how Cruncyroll plays into this now that I think about it. They do release streams with subs on newly released series as well. Some sub groups uses those subs.
