  1. Vanquish Kind of run of the mill 3rd person shooter with difficulty spikes (it got frustrating a few times*). Also where you can beat bosses to death with your fists. If I were younger with more time, maybe I would try to get better and speed run this game (love the hand cannon) but for now... onward! *Especially when you die repeatedly and have your upgrades removed from you, making the section even harder...
  2. Transistor I personally like this way better than Bastion but it took me a while to figure out what and why the story was about. I'm only really frustrated by how enemies can bounce around and still smack you. Otherwise the gameplay is on point. I'm not sure if I'll do a new game plus run since I have such a backlog and replaying Ace Combat 7 is already a time sink.
  3. I think it is time to upgrade from Old Faithful AKA my wired 360 pad. It'll be one less wire coming from my tower. And I guess my brother's PS4 has an extra controller now. In this house, we don't have none of the off brand 2nd player controller nonsense.
  4. It's kind of great that people are trying to mod in fixed cameras and tank controls into the RE2 Remake. Hopefully it all pans out and I will have another way to play the game whenever I get it. So glad it turned out great. While there has been some complaints, I think mainly from AMD folks (same old story that shouldn't be a thing), overall I haven't heard of anything performance wise in the negative. I think the biggest performance hit I gave myself was a quick mod (.ini edit) to eliminate/greatly reduce pop in (highly recommended mod). That was like a 15-25 FPS hit, sending me to an average of 90 FPS on my 980TI, 16GB of RAM and some older i7 CPU (from the 980TI generation). Everything is at max at 1440p resolution. I think I recall you are running something more modern and better than me so I think you'll be fine. If your monitor is 1080p then I think you'll crush the game. If you try out 4K then I can see it struggling. I do have a Gsync monitor so it does smooth out any unevenness in frames.

  7. Guess I'm not getting Metro Exodus.

To add to what Mal said: the problem isn't that it's not on Steam. The problem is that there's no valid reason for third-party exclusives on PC. It's one thing for EA or Ubisoft to keep their own games exclusive to their own stores. I wouldn't expect Epic to put Fortnite on Steam. But throwing money around to keep titles off of Steam is anti-consumer bullshit.

By all means, Epic should run their store and put pressure on Valve but this is the wrong way to go about it. Third-party games like Metro Exodus should be available everywhere so that people can choose where they want to buy them. Competition is good, but taking choice away from consumers isn't.

I think the devs literally threatened to pull out of the PC market if we boycott them too hard. Umm, okay.

Hahahaha, yeah I heard about that. Sounds like it was a single dev as opposed to an official stance, though. Gonna have to wait and see on that one but lol, blackmail is a pretty bold strategy to win customers back. If that's what ends up happening then good fucking riddance. I love Metro but there are other devs out there more deserving of my money. Like, I dunno, those that don't act like they're entitled to my money or that don't make me jump through hoops to buy their games.

  8. https://geofront.esterior.net/2019/01/28/trails-from-zero-to-eighty/ Zero fan translation is at 80% along with other nice features. Honestly, the port is about on the same level as Sky PC releases since it has autosave, turbo and other improvements.
  9. Hmm............................................................................................... I'm going to keep it And just chill out in my
  10. https://metacouncil.com/threads/i-co-founded-a-company-that-does-pc-ports-among-other-things.553/ Not directly related to Falcom games but... this is interesting. Durante has his own PC porting company now. Paperwork are all done and through. It'd be great if this one company hires Durante's company to do a certain port. Kind of like how this one company hired some freelancer localization people who know there stuff. Then let these people do their thing. And since this one company almost certainly has Sen 4, just have these people do their thing on that title as well.

Help, I am stuck in this cult that drip feeds me DRUGS.
  12. I decided to play Transistor after Okami. It is one of my backlogs that I wanted to get to and since i have so many Japanese games, I figured that I give an American/Western dev a spin. Took a bit to get how it all works but damn, it is pretty good. So far, I'd say it's more interesting than Bastion but we'll see how this all pans out. Both game oozes style with great soundtracks but, while solid, I wasn't ever completely sold on Bastion gameplay.
  13. https://n.pr/2WjfZMb We're back open for three weeks. Almost guaranteed that we'll be back on for round two by then. If Trump and the GOP want a wall so bad, we can build one in DC. Thousands of people doing bucket brigade and shifts can get it done in a week at most.
  14. If they can get the enemy count correct then I will fully welcome Iron Rain and future spinoffs into the EDF family. I always welcome the chance to have a different toned EDF. Fun thing that most people tend to forget: Insect Armageddon was where the idea of classes took place first. So yeah, April 11th is when I go off the bonkers again...
  15. Well, here is the second $0 payday for 800,000 federal workers. Like sure, a fair number are technically working but essentially the US lost 800,000 jobs for a month straight. Who knows how many secondary jobs are affected... All for the stupid fucking wall.
  16. Okami HD Got all the Ana- Stray Beads as well. Overall I do like this game but man, platforming in this game is almost 90's level. Doable but it's a chore when you aren't sure of the distance you need to travel. Camera is bull too. Onwards...
  17. <<Look at this fool with his immense backlog buying yet another game!>>
  18. Just having a small taste... Feb 1st is a long way off you see.
  19. Trying to be responsible by going through my backlog instead of, say, going closer and closer to 250 hours of EDF 5 that I WILL be doing all over again if and when it comes to PC. So first off is Okami HD. I have been working through this for a while. It is good but it shows its age in mechanics and visually it can be pretty, its assets can look really blurry. This is the reason why I am still working on this. Other games on my radar is Atelier Sophie, Zwei: The Arges Adventure, DMC HD Collection, Yakuza 0, Ys: Memories of Celceta and Tokyo Xanadu. THEN AND ONLY THEN I WILL MOVE ON TO Dragon Quest XI. I have no idea how I am going to get to replaying Trails, Cold Steel and getting to the Crossbell games (Prepping for CS3)... not to mention the previous Kingdom Hearts games (KH3, finishing the fight, sir).
  20. I only ran the 1-shot demo to see how well it ran on my PC. I'm all good and I think I can wait. Besides, if my brother gets it on the PS4 then I have access to that... later on I can play on PC to experience it in all its gory.
  21. https://gematsu.com/2019/01/yakuza-kiwami-for-pc-launches-february-19 Yakuza Kiwami on PC SOON. I still need to really get into 0... but the giant insects needs killing.
  22. We may be annoyed, pissed or sad but that doesn't mean that we can't have a laugh.
  23. <<Bloody Namco>> <<Give it to me now>>
  24. I might be playing on the PS4 just to avoid the likely port problems. The only reason I would wait is if Durante is hired as a freelancer like Hatsuu is. None of the bullshit one day consulting that happened with Ys 8. I guess there is another reason to wait is to see the translation first. I don't think 9 months is enough for Hatsuu to do enough but I think having the other two (Kris and Ryan) will help since I assume they all worked together on the previous Cold Steel game. I'd be a little (as a courtesy) shocked if Kris and Ryan were recent hires to work on Cold Steel 3. If they were then shit will be fucked.
