  2. Hey deanb, what's your name?
  3. Well that's an interesting take on experience, I suppose. Have to wait to see it in action before I can surmise anything else.
  4. Dohoho. Don't fall asleep on the subway. Trust me.
  5. Have kids. (preferably more than one) Then let me know if you can see how it could happen. When you're trying to juggle a spouse, a full time job, multiple children and making time to play a few games with your friends when the rest of the family is asleep...it becomes pretty easy to see how it could happen. It doesn't happen to me because I'm a night owl, and gaming when tired ends up affecting my mornings more than my evenings, but it doesn't surprise me at all that I've had more than one friend fall asleep while gaming in the past. Hmm, I can see that providing quite an incentive to fall asleep. I suppose I should clarify a bit - I don't understand when people my age, university fellas, fall asleep while gaming. I can understand that maybe, just maybe the coursework would be enough to cause an extreme amount of stress to fall asleep... but I'm a full time computer science student full up on units (they wouldn't let me take any more classes) as well as a part time job, leaving me with barely even the weekends to play (because I also work weekends, even Sundays, which means good money). I guess people are just built differently. As for kids, though. Christ, I had to do a babysitting job once. Babysitting all my little kid cousins. The horror.
  6. I really, really fail to see how people can fall asleep at the keyboard or at the controller. Isn't the whole purpose of a game to entertain you and attract your attention? With the exception of extreme sleep deprivation (which I highly doubt people have, because you're fecking gaming, right?), it's just... really, really, hard for me to believe that it can happen.
  7. Getting that too, huh? I've been getting it recently, the server I've had set up for my dorm hall seems to be lagging a lot recently, had us up on a ledge for quite a while. Of course after experimenting around we successfully concluded our server was dead in the water. Possible fixes do not seem to have worked. Did they forget to update the MP server to the current version or something? O_o
  8. Agree with that entirely, man. I always find that using PTT is kind of... slow. Personally I just use Skype with my friends instead of using the in-game voice. Quicker that way. Also, nice setup Ethan, but I would've gotten the same screens for both systems to even out the symmetry. XD
  9. Last time I got motion sickness from any game was when I was playing the original Halo on a huge, huge screen. I think I might have been sitting too close, but the room wouldn't allow me to move any farther back.
  10. No respect for human life, huh. I don't know about you, but I'd take that as a compliment. It takes a lot of balls to think of your fellow human beings as statistics and commodities rather than, well, people. Otherwise, I don't see his point. He's being really stupid with that essay of his (and only one class? He couldn't POSSIBLY be considered a full time student, and where's he getting his money?), and even stupider by getting angry at you for your opinion. If he doesn't value your opinion, it's highly likely he values you as a person and a friend even less. Just cut and run. My 2 cents says hes probably crazy and/or mentally disturbed.
  11. If there's a preorder for this, I'm definitely going for it. Never played the original Guild Wars, but GW2 is something I've had my eyes on for quite a while now, ever since they first released gameplay footage. Oh, and the art style is awesome. Reminds me of MGS.
  12. Let's make dirt angels! Surely the grass is nice and green and uncontaminated!
  13. I'm uh... currently running on a Macbook Pro right now. My computer still has not been fixed. It's been years since I've checked what's actually inside it, but it was all made by me. All I remember of it was: CPU: Core 2 Duo Memory: 2 GB RAM 80 GB HDD <--(>_>) GPU: Nvidia 8600 GTS The case is stock, and I'm not even sure what the hell my motherboard is, but it is old as feck and is the thing that broke, requiring me to fix it. It's been a good run.
  14. Woo, you're finally here! xD

I would've said something earlier but I've been busy recently.

  15. Hwah. Hwah never changes.
  16. I like his "value v. worth" argument. Very interesting take on digital media.
  17. I have not cried every at any video game. I frankly find them kind of irritating since usually when these emotionally charged scenes pop up, I've just finished a 1-2 hour rush of blowing people's heads off. Not to mention I find sad scenes funny as feck.
  18. Yes, I always find it funny how people don't seem to remember that the Vatican City is an entity unto itself.
  19. My take on Europe. If it offends you, I apologize, but this is 'Murica for ye. And now my take on 'Murica.
  20. Make sure you get the REALLY little one, too.
  21. Took me half an hour to figure out Bahrain. >_>
  22. I took off Kotaku and replaced it with reddit. God damn it.
  23. Yes. While games may not actually desensitize us to violence, they apparently may cause us to dramatically underestimate the intelligence and diligence of real world police. (I'll change the color of my car. They'll never find me now! If that doesn't work, I'll just crouch in this shadow until they forget about me in a few seconds.) Unless you play Need for Speed, of course. In which you learn that no matter what European turbo-charged supercar you're driving, a police sedan will ALWAYS be able to catch up to and GO FASTER THAN your $750,000 car tuned with $450,000 worth of aftermarket parts. Nope. They're just regular cars. Mhm.
  24. I don't think this kid truly understands what cremation demands. Also, he must be a genius. Surely I shall convey my worries to the police, telling them that my mother has not returned home! Cop: Perhaps the home may have a clue as to her whereabouts! Finds corpse. ಠ_ಠ
