  1. Time wise it's 10 years since Heroes first aired, which I think Molly showed up in like the first or second episode. But yeah if Claire has 15 year old twins you'd assume there's a wider gap than that. If X-men can age 20 film years in the space of 5 real years then I'm sure Molly and co can age 20 tv years in the space of 10 real years. One fun thing if you go back n watch it is it's so obvious that the first appearance of Sylar isn't Zachary Quinto. Especially now he's all over Star Trek (shame he's not really in much else).
  2. While overall it's larger, Arg Skellige quests aren't much more of the game than the main Novigrad continent.
  3. I started watching it but didn't get very far, it kinda dragged out a fair bit or something like that, didn't quite catch me.
  4. I've beaten the main campaign of Borderlands. Everything exploding into a hundred guns and armour at the end was too cruel. The actual final fight was quite easy, but I've ended up with quite an OP pistol and my only issue with it is I didn't spend much time on upgrading my pistol ammo (thankfully the bosses exploded into a a chunk of eridium too so I can rectify that). Onwards to the rest of Dragon Keep then onwards to Witcher 3 DLC.
  5. So with Far Harbour and Blood and Wine being out recently I decided to finish off Borderlands 2 cos I'm an idiot Nah, I started on Borderlands tail end of last week as I was between games n Blood n Wine wasn't out until yesterday. It's taken a bit longer than I suspected to wrap up. Especially as Metalcaveman had gotten myself n couple others Dragon Keep to play through in co-op but it all kinda fell apart. But I've got like maybe 1 main mission to play, and I'm halfway through Dragon Keep. I like the changes made. I do dislike that DLC items will show up in inventory/quest list and if you click em it opens up the relevant Steam page. Kinda scummy move.
  6. https://imgur.com/gallery/DJfLe Some No Mans Sky concept art stuff. While I'm only middling in eyeing up this game, I'm glad to have some cool images to freshen up my wallpapers with. The pastel tones help a lot I think. (Also I've just noticed my tablet decided I was writing "kooky" and I'm wondering about all the weird auto-correct typos that'll be spread over the web from this weekend. I really need to pull finger out butt n sort the keyboard out on that)
  7. Far Harbour is the last of first set of DLC, but there's certainly more (better bloody be given they increased the price to almost as much as the man game).
  8. So there's a bit of a to-do at the moment over conservative election fraud. We have rules in place to limit expenditures during elections, and there's an issue where Conservatives had this "Battle Bus" that toured the country and was used by various campaigning MPs...and none of this expense was declared. So it's now being investigated. Though I'm unsure if much will come from it. Tories are tearing themselves apart over the EU election too. Doubt we'll have the same party in july that we have today. *rubs hands together*
  9. I've some games to add to this, will throw them up here tomorrow. Currently mulling over reviewing some android game apps too since it seems I've quite the collection now.
  10. I can't believe kooky would force the game to be delayed. It is interesting, it was due out in 3 weeks. I'd be curious to know why the sudden n massive delay. There was speculation on a networking bug but I'd think they'd state that. I wonder if give all the "so what do you do?" questionX they've figured they should maybe add something of substance maybe, or forced to by Sony. It's currently the indie jewel in their crown and won't look good look for theme if it falls flat. The hype this game is getting is rather insane, and vile as the sub reddit shows.
  11. I have sapphire if that does much, or is it xx only?
  12. Hah! Alcohol is the vice of the working class and binging students. They raised the minimum price rather than outlaw it. Cigarettes are like 80% tax too.
  13. Heh, some of that was from their DXHR advertising. And yeah it's good they're covering the end of DXHR instead of ignoring it. And totally worth giving DXHR a shot. It's a strong aesthetic so holds up quite well still (like, fuck the ceilings are soooooo gooood*). I tried Deus Ex, but it's clearly not aged well mechanically. Also there's the Directors Cut out which tweaks the game (though jarringly dumps "Missing Link" in). I think I've done DXHR like four times now and I think my first two shots through were almost one after another. It's about 20-30 hour range and frequently in sales (S-E have quite frequent sales on their site). There's conversational boss battles, it covers what'll be a realistic debate at some point in the growing transhumanism movement, the aesthetic is fantastic, and while essentially there's only like ...2-3 main "levels"(I believe Eidos refer to them as "hubs") in the game you have plenty of exploration throughout them and there's a nice little world, and a hint of conspiracy throughout (also there's cited medical journals throughout the levels which I only recently found out are totally legit pulling from published papers n not made up like the newspapers). You know I've written this and then I'm like "I feel some deja vu here" and what do you know: http://pressxordie.com/2011/12/14/my-game-of-the-year-deus-ex-human-revolution/ *http://imgur.com/a/FDAbV
  14. Eurgh. I'm not really keen on the "this film is naf but it'll be alright for kids" stuff, it really demeans children and why we end up with stuff like Angry Birds: The Movie in the first place. If a film is shit then don't expose your kids to it or that's what they'll expect films to be. There's an increasing cadre of films that work great for both kids and adults alike such as most recently Zootropolis which was a bit heavy handed on the racism thing but kids can grasp those themes and the adults can be amused by Godfather references. I watched the Peanuts film with my younger siblings and I loved it, and the next morning I woke up to them watching it again and it wasn't a stupid film at all and very much a film that kneels down to eye level when speaking to the kids. It's why Pixar have done so well, and heck majority of Disney films too. It's like parents that'll buy the crappy food for their kids n be like "I wouldn't eat it but it's good enough for the kids". If you won't eat it why force it on the kids. Children are developing, if anything hold what they consume to a higher standard. I may or may not have a slight repressed beef. (and don't take it personal Mal, you've had no influence on any children I know to have nurtured the beef)
  15. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2016/2/schedule/1/enacted Psychoactive Substances Act 2016 came into power today, with the main aim of cracking down on "legal highs". Now I'm all for cracking down on "legal highs" given they can be made of pretty much anything, some oregano with crushed bath bomb mixed in for all you know. And that's bad and dangerous. Problem is they've written such a vague and broad law that they've had to exempt: medicine alcohol nicotine & tobacco caffeine food Food! Anything that induces a "psychoactive effect" pretty much is outlawed, but so much affects us in that way. Even chocolate which you give to kids! And it's super stupid to crack down on "legal highs" and then exempt alcohol and nicotine which are known to be seriously damaging to health and society at large. I don't know who said it but something along lines of "if alcohol was invented today it'd be outlawed".
  16. I've been passing smaller segments of time lately with Harbinger, one of the games from a past Android Humble Bundle. It's a pretty neat ship combat game, though quite simplified and a lot of the tactics is in balancing out your fleets load outs. You start with one ship (which your starting ship choices expand as you level up) and a bunch of scrap and you progress through Sectors, gaining missions, allies and loot as you go and you can upgrade to have two more ships in your fleet, though your starting ship is the one that has to survive. Overall "campaign" is to make it through 4 systems, the furthest I've gotten is to the second system. For a smartphone game (I think it might be tablet only though) it's pretty decent way of passing the time, though it could do with maybe some clearer indication of some buttons and functions. E.g targetting enemy ships I think you can have certain weapons fired to individual ships. Also the Mission screen is fiddly in that regard. Maybe. Also like FTL if you get a shit run of systems, such as a blackhole area (drains your hull), then a electro storm (drains shield) then onwards to an enemy stronghold in next sector and you're kinda fucked with no friendly base along way to heal up. It can be a bit slow between sectors at times too, which I don't know if that's the game or my tablet but not really had an issue on other games. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fi.bugbyte.harbinger (the screenshots show like races n such next to the screens but there's nothing like that in the game, it's purely ship-to-ship n no talking beyond getting missions) It's also on Steam which seems a slightly tweaked UI but mostly the same: http://store.steampowered.com/app/396480/ (one of the screenshots shows the enemy targeting system I mentioned)

  18. I believe that's what Baconrath is getting at. It does suck as a player, but I understand it from a dev stand point since it's not always in actual real world negotiations you get to present the original terms back after you've attempted better terms on your behalf. I think it could be better presented than how the negotiation screen currently presents it to be a bit more transparent. Like a "mood" or something, and each change to the negotiation reduces the "mood" so immediately you can only negotiate for something lesser than what was originally negotiated. Or maybe have it in turns, so they present, you give something back, then if they reject they come back with something. If they are still fine they can re-present their original offer, or they might now require like 10 extra gold from your or something.
  19. Just Cause 3 Overally I enjoyed it, though I think the final island was a bit too big, I'd have been more open to bigger cities like the capital and some of the bases they had (though I think the biggest base was on the second set of islands). The mission sets were rather samey too, to the point in the final bit where you follow the pipes there's references between the characters of it being rather deja vu. But things go kaboom and I eventually got a vague hang of the zipline which made it more enjoyable so yeah it's all cool. Next game might be FFIX since I'm on Disc 4 for that and it's pretty much just Memoria to work my way through.
  20. I'm not super sure it is. I don't know when Memorial Day is but I know that's when it's out in the US cos we had a discussion on that being the stupidest way to say when a film is out. There's quite a few films out n coming out with not-quite close release dates. The Nice Guys is out in the US but not until next week for us. Civil War was similar, Zootopia too.
  21. X-Men: Apocalypse So I went into this expecting it to be pretty damn terrible, as it says within the film "The third one is always bad". But I was pleasantly surprised. It's not Days of Future Past good, and certainly not Civil War good but it's better than the shittier X-Men films. Main reason for going was part of this geek Meet-up group my therapist suggested I join and that was all good. I felt the main issue with it was that the writing was rather poor. They put out Chekhovs gun fairly early on so you knew how the menace of Apocalypse would be concluded. I felt it struggled to do the ensemble cast very well, we left the film and were like "Did Psylocke say anything at all or she purely there for boobs?". There's also a scene it of some impact that ultimately felt like it had none there and was more a way to tie up a wee loose end. However Magneto was great in it and his storyline was neat in setting up the terrorist of sorts he would become. Also showing off a chunk of his powers, which are waaay more than the films have ever let on except I guess the Golden Gate bridge (he even got his force shield!). Magneto is an omega level EM-spectrum controlling mutant living on a giant ball of iron flying through space. There was some nice fun moments throughout, with mainly Quicksilver and Nightcrawler providing the comic relief. Also a remark from the Deadpool film came true Oh there's a post-credit scene, but it's a bit poor tbh.
  22. Yeah I tweeted about this earlier. I can't see them managing to cram 60 episodes of a show, or 27 volumes, into a single movie. You'd have to remove a lot of the plot and pretty much any character development. Apparently the Attack on Titan filmed sucked too, so folks aren't hopeful on this. Also while I agree it's pretty naf that the GitS film is whitewashing and all that given it's clearly set in Tokyo, it's stupid that the article writer and the director is being all "yeah we're gonna go all Japanese on this cos reverse whitewashing" when it's clearly a European setting. The director is casting Japanese actors cos it's a Japanese made film, pretty much exactly why GitS has American actors. I wouldn't trust a director that honestly truly believes the series makes no clear signs on the areas and peoples represented.
  23. I enjoyed the beta but not enough to splash out even on the lower tier PC game. Got plenty other titles to amuse myself with at the moment.
  24. tbh I'm not a huge fan of these, or I think Conan much really he's not really our kind of talk show host, but this might amuse some of you: I suspect that Dinkelage has played his share of video games. Cersie can trash talk though. (and I imagine given the Tracer stuff Blizzard were not keen on the Widowmaker remarks but hey)
  25. You guys know of the character map right? (and yeah, I used to have to know the Euro alt code back in early secondary school(and a few others), but Euro became more of a thing so it got added as a default key)
