  1. Since I presume a bunch of this are in the early and open beta this weekend. What are folks thoughts? I quite like it, lot of flavour to the charachters. I mainly use Pharah which I'm quite nifty at. Mix around the most with the different healers who are all fun and useful in their own way. Main beef really, and comes from being Pharah so much I guess, is that it's not super clear on where the roofs are which can be annoying. On Hollywood for example there's several lifts (elevators...whatever you call them) and not all of them lead to serviceable working roof top. At this point I'm fairly sure the tiled roofing no-go, though also on Hollywood there's a thin wall for the first giant door, and you can't fly over that. So yeah, something a bit more consistent on what is roof n accessible. There's so many vertical characters it's a bit of a heavy oversight. Other one is being a bit more indicative of health, too often the first sign I'm running around low on health is watching the kill screen and being like "woah, I have no health". So yeah, thoughts, who you're playing, etc?
  2. Not posted anything cos I've not painted for years. My paintings were mainly done at college so largely academical; my favourite being local hill Roseberry Topping in the style of Van Gogh and you learn a lot from that, 2D pictures don't really do him justice. His stuff is like 3-4 layers deep. Outside of that done a few smaller bits n bobs my mum has a painting I did of James Dean hanging up in her lounge for her birthday many years ago. I guess when I'm back at hers I could take a picture n post it. The rest is in the attic unfortunately.
  3. @Ethan But yeah, I think boiling him in water and then dropping a load of chicken on him was a terrible way for Uncle Ben to go.
  4. I think at the time I was having issue with how it played, I can't entirely remember.
  5. Yeah, Elite is one of the two games I've used the Steam refund system for (other being the Korra game). Even the tutorial kinda lost me. Grabbed Rouge Galaxy later which was more my speed (and played more like a broadside than a spaceship but potatoes potato)
  6. Our local cinema is an Empire. I think there's only a few of those around.
  7. It's free comic book day, anyone pick stuff up? I grabbed the below: Mainly for my sister (she does some etsy like bits n bobs n comics are a frequent medium) as well as younger siblings for in-car reading (they're slim enough to slip a few into the seat pouch)

    Hardware Porn

http://www.geforce.com/hardware/10series/geforce-gtx-1080 GTX 1080 (and related) announced. Basically runs circles around anything else on the market atm, and major gains for VR performance to boot. Costs as much as you'd expect but hey means everything else will slide down in price to match. Kinda weird to see they've not started a new series with it now being in the 1000 range like they did when they got past the 9000 series last time (I guess this being a magnitude smaller helps with the numbering a bit).
  9. I've picked up some cheap rigger gloves n heavy duty bin bags to give a clear out of the front n back yard (back yard has a chunk of boiler parts kicking around left my the maintenance people which'd be nice to go now they're getting dry, front has a bunch of piled up leaves, weeds, dead plants n general wind blown rubbish build up). And for myself I popped into the new Works* that's opened in town (Man, The Works pretty much was my college shop in the day, was bummed there wasn't one in town when I moved here), and picked up an easel, a starter set of acrylics, mixed brush set n a bunch of pre-stretched canvases for the pretty solid price of £27 all together, less than my EMA** back in the day. Also got a stack of comics while I was in town too, but they're free so not sure they count as a "purchase". *For the non-brits (and maybe some of the brits, I don't know if it's a fully national chain) The Works are sort of a discount/ex-catalogue book shop mainly with like last years autobiogrpahies n mish-mash of other stuff such as a GTAV Brady guide alongside a stack of books on body art. But for me they also have a pretty good super cheap art n crafts section. Another shop down the street which is also a lot of cheap home stuff sells easels for £20 alone n the really nice art shop even further round the corner would do £20 for like a tube of paint) **Education Maintenance Allowance. Was (I think it has been scrapped in recent years) a weekly bit of cash you'd get when attending college in £10, £20, n £30 amounts depending on parents financial situation. Used for things like getting lunch, the bus into college, and buying supplies n books n such. The Works helped stretch that a long way. edit: Now with picture.

      There's dozens of us!

  11. So I figured this for a potentially interesting topic. So I'm currently not playing TES Online. I guess I found it a bit lacking in the mid-game, it was more of a poor MMO than TES turned into an online game. Mainly there was much much less freedom to it than a TES game, heck even than some MMOs. It was structured very much "go to this area, do all the quests, then go to this area, do all the quests". I might have a crack it again down the line, might just have burnt out on it early on, I did play it quite a bit and now onto FFIX. And hey might be patches but I'd guess it's fairly patched at this point until an expansion pops out. So what are you currently not playing?
  12. Daniel Radcliffe is gonna have one hell of an interesting career.
  13. This is interesting, Paramounts map of world locations. Reminds me of the bit in Austin Powers where they're driving through "England" n Austin remarks: "You know what’s remarkable? That England looks in no way like Southern California!"
  14. It's in all the trailers that "something" happens to him. Figured the trailer content is safe area to discuss.
  15. So been thinking on what happens with War Machine I'm tempted to see about rewatching this Tuesday (half-price tickets on Tuesday).
  16. Yay, you guys finally get Civil War now we don't have to keep quite about what happens to Uncle Ben.

Uncle Ben was smashed by one of the falling helicarriers, that's why Spidey is on Iron Man's side.

  18. I've not long got the first airship of the game so yeah, got this playing in head cos it's da best.
  19. Probably what's going through most folks heads when I'm talking about self-driving cars.
  20. Since I can't entirely tell if joking: Within the UK I believe for non-permanent structures planning permission isn't required. Though I know one episode of Grand Designs the guy built a hay & clay house out in the forest for his charcoal making job that was like £20K or something n had some requirements on it being destroyed on his death, couldn't sell it on etc. In this case he's in Australia and I suspect there's similar rulings there, especially given the large amount of non-populated land and the fact a chunk of the populating still constructs these kinds of things (he does reference aborigines a few times). His initial hut will last only 2 years (though that's presented as a "it'll last up to two years which is kinda neat given the construction materials" sort of way). The clay constructions likely last a lot longer. edit: Oh n having watched them all I quite like how he shows his failures, he doesn't edit out all those fucked up sling attempts so it looks like he's really good with his freshly made sling. It's not a sort of "here's one I made earlier", he shows most of the steps. The lack of dialogue is quite soothing to it I guess as well, though makes it functionally less useful as an educational tool I guess but eh, can work out most of what's going on from what's shown.
  21. The more meatier expansion for Fallout 4. Seems it'll have a fair bit with Children of Atom. Also weird crazy synth. Maybe one of the...err..feck. The Z computer things, Henry Eden was one.
  22. There's a rumour that there's InFamous HD version coming to PS4 in August, which is fairly plausible. Something to look out for at E3. The twist on this is it includes a pre-order bonus for the beta of a Sucker Punch made Spider-Man game. Though given this is all based on a now deleted Amazon link, it's veering into the "fake" territory. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1214769
  23. Yeah, Cruz was crap and it's sorta good he's gone since he at least might have had voters n resonated with core republicans. But Trump is still pretty crazy. Be fun in a TV show maybe, but not for real laws n real people. I think those on the fence given the choice between Hilary or Trump are probably gonna go with Hilary. A global super power lead by a reality tv show host isn't going to inspire confidence on the global stage at the very least. Diplomacy requires he be invited out to all the global leader shindigs, but it's likely he'll be heavily sidelined, but I suspect your own people will make sure he's out the way of the "real" talks. This isn't going to happen with Trump Speaking as an outsider of course. Overall my only major concerns on US political system is that in the future it'd be nice to take my kids to disneyworld. I guess for the most part if it comes down to Clinton v Trump, the November elections will likely be some kind of IQ test. It's actually kinda funny, Clinton is a Democrat, but Trump is pretty much his own party, Republicans just lost their last candidate from the race. The "grand old party" might just have died of old age. At least on the Executive ring, pretty solid in the other two arms of power.
