  1. So I got the Fanatical Bundle thing, mainly for Technomancer and Signal from Tolva. Also saw a deal on Amazon for Overwatch n since I had some credit I now own that too.
  2. He's an interesting fella and interesting career to follow. He's in the position where he's not great enough at any one thing to be a clear run for an Oscar, but good enough at multitudes and important in many films that people essentially just want a "Andy Serkis Oscar" even if they pretend it's not essentially just for him.
  3. He has a production company that focuses around digital characters, they're actually working on Mowgli too. He's got quite a wealth of experience in heavy effects driven films from both in-front and behind the camera making him one of the industry leading experts. "Mainly an actor" is quite the underselling of his skill base.
  4. Andy Serkis' much delayed (by virtues of not clashing with the Disney live action version) of Jungle Book For having Andys involvement the CGI looks kinda quite ropey.
  5. I think I've posted this guys stuff a couple times before. It's great to watch so I know in a pinch I can make a knife out of tuna or something to continue the british tradition of mass stabbings.
  6. Deadpool 2 It lacks the novelty of the first but does some new stuff due to not having to set up an origin. Some great quips and lines, probably a bit weaker than the first by virtue of kind of falling into some of the regular tropes in big explosions and such. Though it does have fun while doing it. I am totally down with the current trend of faked trailer clips though. Also I'm betting they're bummed they didn't get time allowance to put in some "I don't feel so good" joke. (though maybe they do have a few too...recent/topical jokes that I think will fall apart in years to come).
  7. This is pretty dang cool. And kind of weird that it's something that's taken an age to appear.
  8. Create a character element sort of makes sense from the Arcade/co-op elements.
  9. Batman Ninja I'll agree on it being the weaker of the current DC cartoon crop but not terrible my any stretch. Its main flaw is that it's a pretty cool premise but doesn't really execute it well at all. It's like a weird mish mash of styles from ukiyo-e mixed in with more kind of absurd anime giant robot battles to some house of flying daggers type emulations. It really would have been much better if it just stuck to one instead of trying a mish-mash of styles. The main styling reminds me a lot of Street Fighter, with the 3D models in a painterly fashion and that's fair enough. Storywise it's fair enough, would never work in a more traditional batman run I think. If you're into batman give it a watch, if you're into anime...probably skip it.
  10. Seems to be getting a chunk of hype given the whole "it's Shane Black again" element. Does seem to be continuing on from the original rather than being a reboot or what not.
  11. So there's a PS4 compatible PSP emulator in some of the remastered games. This is great for hackers in running PSP games on PS4 https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/05/hackers-find-official-usable-psp-emulator-hidden-in-ps4s-parappa/
  12. Been playing Mafia III of late. On one hand I liking quite a lot about it. It feels quite relaxed, and I kind of like the "documentary" style given to it is something neat and different. It has a really great style to it. On a gameplay aspect I find weapons have too few bullets and it's weird he seemingly only ever gets bullets for guns he's currently equipped with (which at this point is just two guns, no idea if that'll expand in time). So if like mid fight I figure I'll be better suited with a shotgun and pick up a shotgun it'll have like 4 shells in it. There's also no Fast Travel. It's not the worlds largest map, but at times I'd quite like to be able to head to certain hubs a bit easier. There's also shops on the map and I'm quite a few hours in and I'd like to feel out of the tutorial phase of the game but I've no idea what the purpose of the shops are. I don't seem to have an inventory of loot I can trade into pawn shops and there seems to be no way to buy the shops a la Fable/Saint's Row. So I don't know their purpose.
  13. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-43933056 A UK child has died, and I'd figured would be enough to put it into the UK politics thread. But this child has been used as a tool by various US political pundits as proof that socialised medicine is bad, that guns are needed, etc. The highest profile I've seen so far has been Ted Cruz and he's happy to hitch his trailer to anything. I'm to understand that shitheel Farage was also happy to have a slot on Fox to talk about Palins old "Death Panels" shtick despite himself knowing it to be an obvious lie. And no doubt there will be another case soon to come around that these same groups will jump on board, and just throw the parents of Alfie under a bus along with all the doctors and nurses who've been battling for months medically and legally for the rights of this kid. I guess it also continues with this "enough of experts" thing, where people would dismiss the prognosis of qualified doctors over that of the parents.
  14. I'm not sure I'd say your section in the "spoiler" bit is a spoiler but here goes Now with the final part, I am having to figure if I'd be able to go see this for round two with my dad n co. My step-mum has concerns on the length for me 10year old bro, but I'm more concerned on that fact that without the grown up brain to understand out-of-film implications of financials, contracts, film techniques etc he'll leave it with nightmares for years to come. As you said, it's not 'gory', but I'd say for a kid that doesn't process it as special effects and actors there's bits that might not go down so well.
  15. Avengers: Infinity War Absolutely agree it's not a standalone film, but I'd hope that at this point a decade in people have twigged the MCU isn't an entirely standalone fare, and this one was very heavily about the culmination of the preceding films. I'd say given how well it handles a large ensemble cast across half a dozen locales, and is a relatively long film without feeling it it stands up pretty damn well. It balances well (heh) the usual and expected MCU glibness and wit with the sombre gravity of the situation and scale of the challenge the teams face. Pretty quotable film too. Also apart from MCU thread gotten a channel on Discord too for more real time chat.
  16. I wish I had 10million followers to lose. But at least I don't support Trump.

Is this about Kanye? I'm surprised people still care about him. Does everyone listen to mid-tempo indie rock now??

It'd be funny if the right started acting like the left when it came to brain dead celebrities.

  17. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.playstation.mimirsvision No idea if this is an app that'd appeal to folk. It might only work on a few phones as it runs off ARCore. Doesn't seem to be a "companion app" in the sense of the PIPboy n Destiny apps have like direct connection with your game for extra controls and more of a fancy wiki.
  18. So who gonna kick bucket? My guess is: (I feel wants to be in spoiler just cos?) Also Ant Man 2 will be post-Infinity War but also Phase 3. Seems to be an Ant-Man thing. Not sure on any reason why it is.
  19. Counterpart Just wrapped up the first series of this. I quite enjoyed it, despite the fact that 'intrigue' isn't my usual go to genre. Cast is absolutely cracking. Definetly ramps up towards the end, though mainly it has some weird kind of pacing issues, like there's certain plot threads that needed to come together at certain points so some are dragged out to keep on hold and some are sped up. I dunno, hard to explain without going deep into spoilers. I guess something I've liked is it's ultimately quite a sci-fi show, a core part is parallel earth, but it's more of a cold war spy thriller. And up until the final episode there's not much in the way of weird tech (and even then all it really is is a conference camera I guess). Oh except the hand scanner/cleaner things on the other earth. Unfortunately can't properly watch it over here in UK, but in US you can watch it on every Nemesis favourite TV channel. So if you're wanting a 10-episode show to have a crack on it's a good one to start on.
  20. I've not properly watched Black Mirror but it seems that this is following a couple of them with a crime twist. Also you should watch Gattaca if you haven't.
