  1. It has until the babies father dies. Third in line won't matter until then And yeah heard on the nurse thing on the radio. Pretty shitty circumstances. There has to be something going on behind the scenes, I can't see someone being pranked being cause enough to commit suicide. The whole gay marriage thing is back in the news. Now saying Churhces won't have to do it if they don't want to. Which many have been very vocal that they don't want to. So I'm not getting at what they plan to do with this law. Just remove the restriction from Civil Partnership on religious ceremonies and the churches that wish to join 21st century can. and those that don't get to keep their precious word. What's great is the church saying their primary concern is for the good of society...their official stance being marriage is one man one woman. So yeah, according to the church if you're gay you're not part of society. So inclusive. No wonder they're dying.
  2. As already mentioned I'm on a 9600GT. Runs fine, I'm on low though, but looks and plays fine. No doubt if I had higher it'd look prettier.
  3. Yep thanks for that. Added it to the count the other day. Also thinking of starting a new race come new year (donators still stick), as long as it's not too fiddly to set up with Pay Pal (though it doesn't seem to have issue with the three at the moment). Any ideas? Something gaming related preferably.
  4. A gift from my mentor. I'm only a couple pages in, seems pretty broken down into simple steps along the way so I guess it's a book you blast through then pull out certain bits to re-read as n when. I've a feeling it won't be a fun book, it combines two things I dislike: self-help books and the concept of secret handshakes to get into work.
  5. Well future head of state n all. Also am I maybe in a slightly different timeline, cos wasn't all the "next in line regardless of gender" stuff done earlier this year/last year. Folks are talking about it as if it's a thing only just happening now due to the baby on the way. In semi-response to your other link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-20624857 Starbucks have finally become profitable after 14 years and opening 700 unprofitable stores across the nation where any other unprofitable company would have given up on their expansion. Funny that. Meanwhile UK company Costa Coffee has been turning a profit and paying taxes.
  6. The uploader of this video feels your country has reached it's Benedict Cumberbatch quota.
  7. BWAARRMMM Also that really didn't give much away at all did it
  8. The whole ball of wax is only one new to me. I reckon Whole Nine Yards would be if not for Matthew Perry and Bruce Willis.
  9. How much debt do you have?!
  10. There's stuff in place to make you go along with the story, something there wasn't much of, if any, in FC2. I will agree on the gunshop being weird. When the woman is saying to put the radio towers online to get in new gun stock I would have figured it'd expand the selection, not give you guns for free. So in that sense yeah the money is mostly meaningless excpet fo customisations and the signature weapons (Whcih you own't unlock if you don't care for the side missions). Have you treid getting to the bottom half? Cos yeah there's an artifical wall there. Jerkingly so given most every other game elment has "reasons" to be there. With this if you head across the ocean you get a 5 second warning, then it fades to black and you're pointing the other way. I'm guessing it'll unlock soon for me though since I'm about halfway through the main missions (nice it has the stat chart to measure that) and have this island totally cleared of enemy bases.
  11. To be fair requiring unique pelts for some of the final level pouches is fair enough. If you're struggling to hold 64 items and $6000 you might be going a bit overboard with your skinning and plant collection. They're like FF Ultimate weapons; neat to have, but you don't need them, and if you do want them then you'll have to earn them. Being unable to level up your tattoo(and are we now complaining about leveling systems having an in world reason to be?) Without certain missions completed is somewhat annoying, but you'll finf misdions won't require you to have those skills, like swimming faster, until after it is unlocked. For the most part they're frivolous perks (except health)

Looks great. The guy who seemed to be there purely to drop pop-culture references was utterly superfluous.

  12. Kate Middleton is preggers. And in hospital with morning sickenss :/ It turns out Disney was right all along. Some day...
  13. He's not meaning social engineering on your end, but on Steams end. You could have been someone else attempting to gain access to your account with your enquirers to Steam about resetting a password. As happened with Mat Hanon getting all his Apple stuff wiped (in case you didn't get FDS's reference). This is the same reason my Jobs Advisor couldn't confirm my appointment over email. Why bother convincing you to accidentally give up your info when they can get the service itself to do so.
  14. http://primacinema.com/ - And in the room hidden by the secret passageway I'd have one of these.
  15. I do remember Fuchi mentioning it at the time. Don't remember the part on oepning tickets twice. FDS is right, if the account was hijacked that's where you should have gone for first. (But yes on the other hand Steam can be kinda bad, though more a case of just being slow than anything)
  16. As I mentioned on twitter yesterday: 9600GT. You're a fair bit ahead of me than that
  17. I told everyone this. I told everyone this repeatedly, and nobody listened. It's been clear from hands-on's/ previews for years that this game had the same open-world bones as FarCry 2. But everyone based their opinions on the attention-grabby scripted-bit trailers. I should probably amend this and point out that the reason at the time it seemed to be just relegated to the start of the game is because you start off with a fair few 'missions' until you end up in the open area with the whole "go to next mission or explore island" thing. Quite a few of the missions are scripted stuff. But there's quite a few bases that you're open to take out in whatever manner pleases you (I prefer to kill them with my favourite weapon of all: tigers. Or dogs)
  18. Yeah , that won't lead to disappointment at all And the cover does contradict what I know of the product, though a large part of what I know of the product comes from previous titles which by the developers accounts the new game mainly has in relation to it is the name and developer and a general feel. It's hardly like a keeping the same name and developer, and same mostly everything, and having a shooter-orientated cover hasn't actually meant the game itself is now more shooter-orientated before now. I'm someone who has frequently said I "try before I buy", how much stock do you think I put in gaming marketing? I'm still hopeful of Infinite, quite looking forward to it. Doesn't mean I can't voice concern over what a shitty cover can imply. Where exactly does your line of distaste end so I can make sure not to overstep it next time?
  19. I can understand the issues folks have with it, it's the first that's both non-DRM free, and also the first that's not multi-platform. Which both are the main reason for HIB in the first place and there will certainly be a fair few people, especially those high paying Mac n Linux guys, who might be a bit upset. Especially as there's already not very much of a shit given by the HIB organisers to make sure the ports to Mac n Linux work on those games that offer them. I'd say as long as this is a one-off, or at least a one-off for a long time, then I'm sure folks will be fine with it. THQ are pretty fucked at the moment (which does bring the third point of every game in the bundle having a sequel or loads of DLC for it, which aren't PWYW) Here's David Rosen, one of the original founders of HIB, but not invovled anymore, thoughts on the matter; http://forums.wolfire.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=17110&p=182338#p182338
  20. I would imagine the shipping makes it much more costly.
  21. Cyber do what I did n fill up wishlist in a browser. Sign in, go to steam store page and add "?cc=us" to the URL. Puts you on the US site.
  22. The phrase "don't judge a book by it's cover" starts and ends life as a phrase, no one actually uses it as a philosophy. There would be no need for covers if people didn't use them to judge. The cover is therefore generally tweaked to suit the content inside. Such as the "boring" Skyrim cover in the style of an olde bound and embossed book. Not caring much about the cover is much like turning up wearing a shell suit with grass stains all over it. Not a great impression of what is potentially inside. You dispell this negative impression by generally putting in just an iota extra effort beforehand.

I love how all these films are taking that route. Bond, Iron Man and now Star Trek.

    2. Vecha

      Vecha

      Is that for real? Seems...odd.

  23. Comparison to COD don't really help matters, considering that's part of the point folks are making. "Everything else is shit" is a terrible reason to have something else that could be oh so much better look shit too. They also point out Elizabeth is missing too, which..errm..well...not a great look to be going with of late. And beyond the bit of zepplin in the top corner no Columbia either. It's kinda telling in the quality of the cover when Bioshock 2, a game considered to be a fiar bit of a sub-par sequel, only had issues with the cover becuase people reckoned the Big Daddy looked like Bomberman. The cover is meant to be the window into what the game is about, and in this case it looks like genric as fuck FPS, or a studio that hasn't given much of a shit about the cover which starts to make you wonder what other parts they didn't give too much of a shit about. And those aren't really thoughts that they should be inspiring about now. Bioshock is the anti-generic FPS, the cover is something that should reflect that rather than embracing the tropes it's generally against.
