Actually if it's a sale of a license to a business that's now not using them, then it matters. If you're a developer that is being lured to WinRT and the Windows Store then you'll be wanting to know how many computers you'll be selling your app to. If several million are licenses that won't see use for two years then there's less allure.

PXOD Secret Santa 2012 -- Targets Assigned!

If we were to have just gift cards might as well expand it to PSN cards n MS points. It kinda dulls it a bit (also works unfarly towards non-US folks too since £10 is a fair bit more than $10 and vice versa). -

Does App Store even have gifting? And is that something that can be done without installing iTunes on the giftees end? As for double posts: Somewhat forwned upon, there is an edit button so if you've got extra to add within a few minutes that is prefered. -

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20543936 And now the Leveson Report. A lot of it is still being chewed through, so not quite sure on the overall outcome and what affects it's going to have. I guess it may be a case of wait and see.

I want never gets. I would like to be able to visit the stars, but that's not going to happen in my lifetime. A new computer and ticket to US would be the more realistic one I guess.

Dishonred was also helped by a pretty big marketing campaign, along with the whole "From the makers of Skyrim, and the artist of HL2" thing, while going up against a bunch of sequels and buffeted by the winds of nostaligia that blow from yonder Kickstarter of late (it's a pretty Theif-ey vibed game). Steam sale won't have hurt either.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-20515918 hahah, to tackle the drinking problem It's two fold; - Artifically give pubs an level playing field over drinks brought from supermarkets. - Fuck over the poor. (cos a minimum price won't affect premium drinks will it) Also it would to lead to people "panic buying" vast quantities of cheap booze in the lead up, thus meaning people are going to have stores of alchol at home which will for a short while make drinking issues worse not any better. Also it assumes that most alcoholics and problem drinkers are the poor, who would be put off by an increase in alcohol price, and not say proffesioanls in high stress jobs where the bottle is a friend and their salaries help buy expensive friends.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/25/technology/nintendos-wii-u-takes-aim-at-a-changed-video-game-world.html?pagewanted=all&_r=2& A good peice on industry response to the Wii U. Bushnell, of Atari, is "baffled", though doesn't go much more into it than that. Which is annyoing as he'sa guy who has had it oh so well, then go oh so wrong. So of all the folks to understand Nintendos potnetially tenous position on the top he's it. Bach, of MS, reckons iPhone Mario would be good (Which I agree with as I've mentioend many times)

http://www.destructo...s--239407.phtml So ignoring the fact that dishonored was on sale "on Steam, where Dishonored was listed as the #1 selling title over the holiday weekend." They've said it's selling better than expected and it's likely they've a new franshice. So expect to see more Dishonored..probably during next-gen I would guess. It's to be expected. Bethesda don't setlle on making individual games. Can't wait for Xmas to pick this up

http://blogs.windows.com/windows/b/bloggingwindows/archive/2012/11/27/windows-8-40-million-licenses-sold.aspx It's shifted 40 million licenses in a month. http://www.theverge.com/2012/11/21/3674706/windows-8-activation-key-pirates Oh and they've fucked up and the Media Centre add-on will unlock the full OS.

Well as noted you would hope that most of them will have back-ups, but yeah it's a huge fuck-up and one would hope GSM will do more than just provide an update. It can be pretty pricey software.

http://gamemakerblog.com/2012/11/26/skull-crossbones-vandalize-studio-games/ Game Maker Studio guys put in a anti-piracy method which put a skull and crossbones motif over all the image files...of legitimate users. Now thankfully most of these guys will have back-up files on hand, but for those that don't (and do I guess) the GMS guys have now fucked them over in an attempt to get at illegitimate users (who are now fully aware of what the current version will do). Makes it hard to sympathise with anti-piracy tactics when it fucks up like this.

http://www.raspberrypi.org/archives/2565 So there's now "Minecraft Pi", a version of Minecraft Pocket ported across to the Raspberry Pi and built to support several coding languages. Oh and it'll be free.
