http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20415689 Church of England voted against having female bishops. Still fine with a female head though. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20405915 Andy Coulson and Rebekah Brooks have been formally charged in the phone hacking case. David Cameron says: LOL.

So is this only sent to people that have used a 360 in past year or so then, or paid for gold, or what? Oh and

Well if your'e intending to make plenty of use out of your PS3 then I guess PS+ is worth investing in, especially as it's the whole "Your instant game collection" thing (though that might be a SCEE tagline). I'll throw in a suggestion for the PS Move too (it works with quite a few of the games mentioned already too). Buzz is neat, though that might be the UK side of me speaking (we like games like that), mainly depends on how often you've got company over. Motorstorm is fun too, though I've not played the latest one. Oh there's GT5 too which hasn't been mentioned (but I'm more a fan of arcade style racers, hence me having Pacific Rift and only the GT5 Prologue which came with my PS3). There's a shit ton of JRPGs too, though I don't think they're your style (I'm doing White Knight Chronicles at the moment). Also I've not played it myself but folks seem to be praising Tokyo Jungle quite a bit. Oh and Lair, one of the PS3s most critically acclaimed games for it's innovative use of the Sixaxis controller.

Yeah that's a mystery for the ages. Computer courses have a huge problem with getting women involved, though gaming being in the creative side can pull in from those areas too. If you could work out how to get women interested in computer courses you would become a very rich person. Though once again there's likely a chicken and egg thing, if women feel left out of gaming, what would encourage them to take up a carer in making them?

http://www.gog.com/pick_5_pay_10 GOG have a 5 games for $10 deal going on. A decent selection (it's from their indie selection rather than old games selection).

Crack in the 2020 base + it being in his time line means he can't go back to go pick em up. It is perfectly reasonable to assume that Silurian is from another base, they were a dominate species, they're all around the earth.
-
Silurians, Victorians and Sontarans don't have time travel though. (It's also worth noting that group of Silurians was more than likely destroyed unexisted given there was a crack in their base)

He made a lot of points, including devils advocate/straw man examples too so unsure on which points you're disagreeing with. It seemed to be pretty much both against the white-knighters, and the "privileged". And I'm not a huge fan of white knighters either. I agree, as the video seems to be leaning towards, that women should be able to speak up just fine on their own and feeling the need to white knight them is just as sexist. And I like to generally stay away from discussions of straight white male privilege. But should be okay here so I will say I do agree on the topic that men are just as unrealistically portrayed, but it's just unrealistic, not really highly sexualised like women in games can be. The video did kinda go off a bit at that section though. I will say: corset, yes in style of the time. With top of the tits hanging out, not really. It's 1912, still the time of modesty. Having stuff like an achievement for looking at in-game tits is pretty shitty and can't be spun any way that looks good or even reasonable. And DoA generally has always been "that game with tits", and it's a fact the developers don't really bother hiding (quite the opposite). It's not something I'd say is a huge issue with gaming, but you only need a few examples to make everyone else look bad. It's not so much that more women need to be put in games, or as protagonists. They just need to not be put in with a main aim being sexual objects but as actual characters. Elana Fisher manages to hold up just fine without having to get her jubblies out. I would say there's certainly a growing awareness of it and challenge to the current norms. The big events of past few years being the banning of boothbabes from PAX and EG Expo(sorta). I don't think it's something that will go away, women as sex objects is still a huge selling points to a lot of things, not just games. But you'll certainly see stuff like "stare at tits, get achievements" fade away fast.

https://www.humblebundle.com/double-fine Double Fine Amnesia Bundle. Vote for four game concept ideas you'd like to see made into full prototypes over 2-3 weeks, and also get the prototype to Costume Quest and Happy Song right now. btw the Android Bundle 4 is still going (3 days left) and I can recommend it for Walking Mars alone. Most of these work on phones too this time. (Normally with the Android bundles you're looking at games that require, or work best on, tablets.)

http://imgur.com/a/CT8ZX So this is what Skyrim can look like if you pump a ton (roughly 100+) of mods into it. I've a feeling it's mainly a "make screenshots" game now though. http://www.asot.es/2...kyrim-mods.html Apparently this'll get you most of the way there without the need for messing about with roughly 300 mods: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11

They didn't get him that far, it was clear from the start it wasn't for him. Just with the recent stuff going on I think he felt it worthwhile just exploring how far down the rabbit hole it goes. And got more than he bargained for in the pre-wrote article. Also these guys don't seem like random shitty SEO company. http://www.mecglobal.com/our-work/case-studies/sony-computer-entertainment-america-playstation/ Yeah MCV has just been terrible today, especially taking to Twitter like it has done. I'm a bit like Mike Rose in the whole "the doubt is there", and before now it'd just seemed like silliness and mostly focused on the somewhat naive Wainwright, but now she's gone and this stuff is not only continuing but amplified so much worse makes you realise it's the whole MVC network. Whcih kinda sucks cos MCV is a sister publication of Develop and I like Develop. Huh, hadn't heard about Wainwright. I had seen her posts still going up in MCV the days following. I guess they held off until it was quiet enough to just take her out back.

That was set in 2020 though, not Victorian times. That's not the only group of silurians under the planet.

LewieP, head guy of SavyGamer a UK site for posting deals on games n such posted an email conversation he had with a marketing firm representing Nintendo http://i.imgur.com/YLvEQ.png (It's kinda big so not gonna embed it) Makes you wonder eh. Oh and there's stuff stirring up with regards to the previous "doritogate" stuff in that MCV have posted a round-up of positive reviews for Hitman (an SE published game, same company one of their writers listed as being employed by in the previous shitstorm), with them listing EG as being "grumpy" for their 7/10 and an outlier, when as many have pointed out plenty of outlets have given it pretty bad review scores. http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/critics-delighted-with-agent-47-s-return-in-hitman-absolution/0106621 It has had a fair few updates and tweaks since. Oh n led to this: http://independently-speaking.com/2012/11/19/the-doubt-is-there/

Nope it's 404 for me too now. I'm gonna guess they've since canned the offer.

Yup, usually sold on the shelves right next to the PSN cards.

Woops. Just realised I've slightly misread what you wrote. But yeah, I'd say it's much simpler to play on a dedicated portable system in bed, especially if all you want is mario, than to be booting up a full blown console system and streaming the game into bed.

Looper I just didn't feel like it did much. The "closing the loop" bit with Seth was about the only special part of the whole "time travel" side of things. The TK stuff felt kinda randomly lumped on. The film made a point of just not really explaining these elements of itself. Just cuaslly mentioning "of TK exists" and yet it becomes a somewhat important part of hte plot later on, and with time travel Bruce Willis getting angry at the concept of even having to explain time travel. Also Levitts face was just waaayy too distracting throughout, neat they put the effort in to make him look like a younger version of Willis, but it just doesn't work too well. Especially as there's more to it than just make-up, and there didn't seem to be much effort in making them seem similar people, just similar looks. Also the film maker did not care for kids at all, but that doesn't really weigh in the good/bad scale of things.

You didn't game in bed before now?

Any further plans for DOTA 2 tonight? Anyone else wish to join us in either a closed match (3vs3ish) or 5 PXOD versus world?

So it's a 1.1GB day one patch that by most accounts takes an hour plus to download (unless you're Geoff Kieghley/Jason Schrier then it's 5GBs cos being super-journalist they can't check a routers dl/ul). And by some accounts because it's patching the system as it downloads, this means it's bricking some devices already. Yes it makes sense that turning the console off during a f/w upgrade would fuck shit it up, it doesn't make sense to have an hour long patching process. It costs minors $0.50 to set up an online account. Lucrative. (also likely means if they're setting up an account alongside mummy and daddy then mummy n daddy say sod that and just not make it a minor account). As pointed out it does mean if mummy and daddy aren't there then a charge will appear on the parents card, but I don't know how it is in the US but over here they make a charge, usually £1, then put it right back on your account once the card has come out verified, and that appears on the statement. $0.50*100million amounts to quite a lot of extra income for Nintendo they shouldn't really need. The Wii console backwards computability is provided by a VM, which is suspected to be a way around not getting hacked by Wii games. And that's not Wii games BC, it's Wii console BC. The VM is used to play your VC games from your Wii too. Zombie U is getting postive reviews, despite one super duper negative 4/10 review from GameSpot. http://www.eurogamer...8-zombiu-review http://www.computera...meback-review/# In actual console news the main issues seem to be taken with the gamepad, in that it's 3hrs of battery (as was known, but not until now put into practice) and the screen is resistive tech instead of the now more common and shinier capacitive tech. And nearly every review decries the use of black glossy plastic (and the general build quality too, but we know from Wiimotes you can still whack someone full pelt in the face and the wiimote survives, so the feel isn't all there is to the built quality) Oh and here's a bunch of reviews: http://www.joystiq.c...nintendo-wii-u/ http://www.engadget....o-wii-u-review/ http://www.theverge....do-wii-u-review http://www.techradar...1084120/review/ http://arstechnica.c...-screen-gaming/ (The load times thing in this one is pretty different to others, but given he has Wii U versions of Batman n ME3 why not use those as comparisons?) General gist is it's a Wii, in HD, with Nintendo's firm grasp of online connectivity. Games don't look any better than your current system, so it pretty much all falls down to the Nintendo games as usual. Of note is that due to the fact the patch for half the Wii U's features only went live along with the launch a lot of the reviews do miss out mentioning those functions, so in some cases it's worth holding off a bit or checking to see if reviews get updated.

Where the fuck am I giving you that impression? People should maybe actually read what I'm typing instead of auto-engage a stupid mode of "Dean is complaining/argumentative".
