Metalcaveman picked this up for me what with the sale n all. Playing Demons Souls kinda works a bit against you with Dark Souls cos you expect to be killed by the boss at the end of the tutorial. Not so here, you kill the boss at the end of the tutorial. Also no central area as best I can work out, which is gonna be fun trying to buy/sell/store stuff. Anywho, all good fun. Even if it's probably fucking with article plans for Monday (Oh I'm playing a Pyromancer btw. Seemed close enough to the Royal with starting out with some magic, but still being decent enough at weapons)

Well a quick google search brings up a bunch of female criminals. of which only a few are accomplices, so yeah it is pretty sexist I guess. How would a video game female not be on-par with a video game male? Someone will have to fill me in on this spot, but I've a feeling femsheep doesn't go "owee" after trying to melee a Brute. It's a video game, the male protagonists of GTA (including the "closer to reality" GTAIV) already survive being catapulted several dozen yards out of a car. Talking of cars, I'm pretty sure they can drive just as well, and steal just as well and shoot guns just as well. The only limitations put upon a female character would be those purposefully put in by Rockstar. @W&S: No one is bending your arm behind oyur back keeping you in this "argument".

It's basically a news app, but it draws from a vast range of sources, so rather than having a feed from a specific site, you have feeds based on specific topics (Though in some topics it can end up with irrelevant stuff) And you can even sort it by mood too, though that's bit less useful. Save on subscribing and trawling through a ton of feeds, gives a good "general impression". Gonna try out their gamer focused version too.

Sure if you've got a game like say....Uncharted where you've only got one PC, so no complaints if you're PC is a dude*. But in a game that presents choice to the player, then being just dudes is a certainly something that can be criticised. No matter how much you were to proclaim that only men can be crime figures, like the infamous Bobbie and Clyde. (Cos of course womens prisons are made just so there's some nice empty buildings here n there). And no they've not said they were even going to be doing three characters So there was no assumptions to be made there would be a nice equal spread of player choice. But now folks know that there's three PCs, folks are wondering about the lack of variety presented for players. *Though this is probably a bad example as he's emulating Lara Croft and has two female sidekicks.

Total Recall Non-Arnie Edition. It's actually pretty good, held it's own. Still the same core of the plot with the Total Recall thing (Though losing some of it's touch because you know that part of the story so there's not much suspense there*), but now it's on Earth with the Unifted Federation of Britain and The Colony instead of on Mars like the Arnie version so the flesh to the skeleton that is Rekall/implanted memory, is new fresh n sparkling. The effects n such all look pretty good, general style of the film isn't very original mind (standard dystopian future with high population n cramped buildings, Minority Report cars, etc). *Though there's one bit that's from the first film but plays out ever so slightly differently which I thought was neat. Certainly the most obvious nod (beyond Rekall) to the Arnie film.

The destruction of the source code is a bit extreme. Especially given many folks now are kinda looking at games and going "oh wow, we don't have any way to remake these older games because they're in obsolete formats/lost/whatever" and here's a judge purposefully ordering it's destruction. I understand the reasoning but I'd have preferred handing it over to Epic if anything.

Sure their own story to tell, but it's still a missed opportunity. And being "a boy's club" doesn't mean they can't have women as a protag. In fact that'd make it more compelling a story to tell. Police don't tend to stop a chase just because you went into your house, this is hardly a game rooted to reality.

Being on a single shard is pretty neat. afaik the only other MMO to do that atm is EVE. Certainly makes playing with international folks much easier. Kinda lame it's a game with classes though, I'd have thought they'd have done well without those, have you mould your character through levelling up choices like it is now. Also having huge battles is pretty neat idea, but didn't WAR do that and kinda suck?

Yeah they're very fast. And lots of them too. I've only read the Survival Guide mind, and he seems to mainly concentrate on the slow zombie type.

See I've only heard of that as a US thing. Especially with the gay = immoral sexual perversion = paedophile line of thinking No one has questioned Savilles sexuality with all the allegations going around, in fact I can't think of it being the case in any paedophilia news, nor has anyone suggested gay folks, of which we have many out in the open, being paedophiles either. It's not even mentioned and I'd say most folks 'know' that Savilles victims are likely young(well old now) girls. About the only time gay + paedophile tends to crop up is with priests, and even then I don't think it's even raised they'd be gay, almost treat/presented as 'paedosexual' if such a thing existed. I guess maybe old people may have the opinion, but I doubt they'd be the ones leading a charge along twitter n such on a witch hunt of gay paedophiles. As I said, I've only seen gay = paedophile within US media.
