  1. So did we all buy the same keyboard or something? (minus Ethan, who seems to have instead gotten a G5 to match mine) It'd be the Sidewinder X4 for those curious. I really should maybe publish that review someday.
  2. First World Forum Problems: Opening the "What are you listening too?" thread on my phone or netbook.

  3. The M15X? That's likely got support from a few titles out there. Not exactly a niche n unused brand. It's like that Hydra thing has support in a fair few titles despite next to no one owning one. If the API is simple enough and/or the incentives good enough it's worth chucking in.
  4. Don't put photos you're going to embed in the "Photos" folder. That should really be renamed "Album" or "Gallery" to avoid confusion as that's what that folder is for. You should put items you're going to embed in the "Public" folder. I have a "Photos" folder in my Public folder.

http://www.teachwith.../index.php/faq/ "Steam for Schools". Looks to be using Portal 2 n the level editor for STEM subjects. I don't much see the use in classes myself, but the PR is good and it could get a foot in the door for Steam so good marketing idea on their part. I'm looking at the lesson plans and unless they've got a version of Portal 2 set-up with a load of extra tools n configurations I can't see how in it's current state Portal could be used to test stuff like mass versus friction when there's only the weighted sphere, cube n the robot to play with and no way to weigh them or measure anything.
  6. What keyboard brand is it?
  7. Yup. PC runs all sorts of inputs and all sorts of outputs. Given most console games can be made to look better on PC and you can use control scheme of choice it makes more sense to play "console games" on PC than on console a fair few times. Whereas the reverse is far from true.
  8. I'll see about making a feature request on the Invision site. They're working on next version so maybe see about getting the shorthand n https versions added in. If I knew how PHP worked I could maybe do the fix myself.
  9. Yeah I should maybe have added that info for folks not aware of the current goings on. edit: Sure the Vodafone thing was/is totally fucked up, but so is the tax avoidance on many of the super-rich. Even if through the various loopholes n shit it's "legitimate"
  10. Due to relocation this is my current set up. I could do with getting a desk cos that's not the best set up, though I'm unsure where I could put it. Do have the bonus of a PS2 now though, but at the loss of my second monitor.
  11. So Shameless Gaming Month MKII is soon to be upon us. Trjn has said he has some things up his sleeves n I'm trying to think of a couple (Though I'm having issue with PXOD stuff atm). Just to get folks maybe started out two good sites to set yourself up with are http://www.backloggery.com/ and http://darkadia.com. Both allow you to make public profiles, so folks can keep up with how you're going along. And via HotHeart http://howlongtobeat.com/, which is a neat site to plan your time on which games are worth putting the time in to beat and which are like Disgaea and take longer to beat than there are hours in July. My Darkadia is in my sig if you're wanting to follow along.
  12. Given the fairly strong modding scene for the original near 15-year old PC release, I think folks do. And given it's the PC version and it already was "HD" there's not much to change. Just needs maybe some of the mods hard baking in and to run on modern systems without needing tweaks.
  13. http://www.gog.com/e...i_pc_rerelease/ So FFVII is supposedly getting a PC (re)release. Cloud Saves (he shoots, he scores!!!) n achievements too. Given the initial PC release currently needs a host of mods n tweaks to run on modern systems I assume this is a reworking or re-port of that. I doubt it'll be the fabled HD remake.
  14. Heard joke once: Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Says media and national leaders out to get him. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world and that he made an error of judgement. Doctor says "Treatment is simple. Great comedian Jimmy Carr is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should pick you up." Man bursts into tears. Says "But Doctor... I am Jimmy Carr." Though Mr Cameron put his foot right in it with his "morally wrong" statement. That was an open invitation for media to have a nosey at Cameron n Tories tax affairs. Also I may have missed this but why specifically are media targeting Carr?
  15. Swiftkey updated today to version 3 n now I've gone from loving it to hating it and I dunno how to roll back an update (Can maybe unisntall then use the backup apk from my recent Cyanogenmod update?)

Doesn't look very nice, but it's at least still useable.

Ehhh. To a degree. Then issue with the language pack thing bust the predictions pretty bad (Still not great but better now I've done the language pack update) but the rearranging of the keyboard means I'm now hitting the space bar instead of punctuation keys. I've a small device, spacebar was fine as it was, don't need to be bigger.

Especially at the cost of cramping common punctuation into a single button you now need to hold down to activate instead of just tapping.

  16. It's the only thing I've bought in two weeks. Well I guess I did also re-purchase www.pressxordie.com the other day too.
  17. *says nothing*
  18. Yeah I'd like a tablet for comic book purposes. It's why the Note was starting to appeal to me. Not the best screensize but still larger than a phone and without the extra purchase a tablet would require.
  19. Me and my mum have being watching Taken. I only got as far as the bit in the burning cabin, so we're now in uncharted territory for me and my mum has forgotten the plot so it's fine viewing. The main grievance is that cos it's over the space of half a century there's a lot of jumps in times n thus change in actors so you're like "so that's the ginger kid then?". Dakota fanning is playing a 9 year old and she's the third actress for her character(if you count the baby, and the 3 year old version(Ellie Fanning) was only in for like 5 minutes). Most of the time for the adults they stick a bit of reverse "Just for Men" in the hair n call it job done as time progresses. It's nice to see how each generation copes with the same events happening to them. e.g the family line of abductees and Crawford men and Clarke women. It's 10 episodes at an hour long each so a nice bit of watching for a lump run. Bit Lost-like(though pre-Lost) in the whole "ooh, mysteries" thing, but cos it's 10 episodes long no disappointments. The Crawfords are my fave line, Keyes kind of a bit shitty until the end (they get abducted, all men have same frenzied reactions) and the Clarkes are..well kinda neat but mainly Allie n Tom.
  20. And probably never will? I have a bunch from the steam sales. I haven't even touched (downloaded) them... Nah I should, I wanted a new RTS other than EU3 (I can't get back into EU3), and I've found Crusader Kings II too complicated, so I was going to download Civ 4 or 5 but ended up finding 3 instead. Hate to break it to you but the Civ series ain't an RTS, they're TBSes. In fact aren't the Europa games too?
  21. It still is compared to most other PSone games. gets a nice bonus from coming out just as PS2 hit the market. That compared to FFVII is leaps n bounds ahead. Don't think you'll see a jump like that for any future gens.

    World Politics

As I commented on Twitter yesterday it's a bit of silly affairs than an Australian citizen is currently hiding out in the Ecuador Embassy in London, after an unsuccessful appeal in the UK to block extradition to Sweden, because he fears the US will nab him n execute him. Bit of a balls up all around that this situation could arise. And yeah there was an equal issue of affairs with the aspergers guy last year, how did that one turn out? Didn't Tories come into power n put a block on that in the end? US have some very nasty laws n some very nasty places if they think you've broken their "national security" or in these two cases, made an ass of them. Isn't that Bradley Manning dude now like locked up in isolation for ever n ever?
  23. Was this happening? It's something I'd be able to take part of since I can do Frozen Synapse on my netbook intermittently.
