Not really. If Wal-Mart don't do AO then that's likely all it'll remain at. Board members will likely be a bit pissed if Wal-mart decides to drop M-rated games which are some of the biggest selling games out there. Whereas banning stuff like Indigo Prophecy ain't exactly that much of a dent in sales. Nor do I think Wal-mart are as big a market for games that even should they stop stocking M-rated titles that developers would stop making them.

You can't sell it iirc. The stores get fined (well the employees) for like £20K or something like that. I'm with Thursday, the list of banned material is pretty slim and I think one banned game never ended up being made anyway. It's why a lot of the Schwarzenegger versus ESA stuff seemed a bit silly over reaction from some folks with the doomsaying of "no one will make the games cos Wal-mart will never stock games higher than a U rating".

People that think the people that hate say...ubisofts UbiDRM are same folks that lap up Diablo 3 when it's likely they're on unconnected venn diagrams. There's something like several hundred million gamers, it's not some huge hivemind some seem to want to make it out to be. I will point out I don't think that it was Biowares choice to knock out DA2 so quickly, especially since DA:O took like 9 years or something. Nor do I think it was Biowares choice to turn a bunch of MMO n RTS studios into Bioware studios. The watermarks may be obnoxious but they do serve a purpose two fold: -ingenious marketing tool (Steam vaguely has the feature, see CS:GO, wait for others to make use of it) - You know the fuck the game is. (which is a terrible problem people have when posting screenshots on social sites) Though yeah, mainly annoying.

I guess it makes it somewhat obvious who it is (relationship wise), but yeah pretty weaksauce on the VA for not attempting anything different, n screw director for not asking for anything different. Thing is they did it fine with Team Avatar MKII in last episode.

I want to set my wee one up on Fable III (no means to paly my copy of Fable II atm) and put a hunch into work, which is it's kinda "My first ARPG" which is where it'll grind a lot with us lot since we're used to games aimed at more experienced and older gamers. Considering most trash put out as "kids games" Fable is pretty high calibre.

Playing Valkyria Chronicles, it takes a while to give you full command a bit. And there's an awful lot of cutscenes, they look pretty so I don't mind too much. Oh apart from having to manually advance the "episodes" every couple of minutes, but at least it makes saving painless. Personally I'd prefer a long continuous cutscene until a battle, give a chance to then save, level up, grind, etc, then move on to the battle when you're ready. Some units feel a bit useless which is annoying. Also isn't there meant to be an element of fantasy or does that come in later?

Create your world, story, mechanic and ask yourself constantly:does this plot point/problem/etc need solving/moving forward with the use of a gun/violence. I kinda figured the CNN thing was fairly well known (in fact wasn't it posted on here too?), was all over the place a bit. The original article, written by a guy on the show floor, did refer to Wii U as a new console. The editor at CNN then "corrected" that to a new controller(before correcting it back). Which is what it's coming off as, as mentioned before Nintendo have made little effort in clarifying explicitly that the Wii U is a completely new console, generation, hardware etc from the Wii. They really should have spent some more time on the box powering it all, but they're not wanting to talk price or specs so I guess "here's the on button...and it presses in like so" is about all they could talk about it. Given the DS - DS Lite - DSI - DS XL, and 360 S n PS3 Slim changes people see about, it's not surprising that the Wii U console randomly shown on some press shots looks like a smoothed Wii. Wii Slim Nintendoland looks like a pack-in. Except they're apparently going to try n sell it on it's own. Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, and Wii Fit, the main games staring Miis are all pack-ins. These aren't games people went out their way to buy, they bought the hardware that came with it. A new Mario game doesn't really spell out "new console" either. Are people open to the idea of shelling out a few hundred on a new Mario game? The continued use of the name "Friend Codes" does seem to imply that Friend Codes are still going to be present though. Even if they are expanding it a bit and taking the plastic caps off the plug sockets a little bit. I'd feel that with a launch due in the next few months I'd have wanted a pretty fleshed out online system, it sounds like despite several years of R&D they still don't know what or how to do it.
