  1. I never said the bell had changed name...
  2. FFX was late 2001 Edit: n I'm with FDS, ffxii had one of the better battle systems.
  3. http://www.theindychannel.com/news/31224633/detail.html Why are the TSA still around? There's a ton of horror stories about them, and as far as I'm to understand they've not stopped a single terrorist attempt, all the while costing millions of not billions in their operation (and probably even more in delays and other secondary expenses of their operation).
  4. Introduced my mum to another step in her online journey. Banking. We also discovered that Ikea use Natwest cos her purchase from other day only just came out now.

We use Barclays. Also funny you have it as "Ulster Bank hiccup" and we have it as "Natwest" when both are under RBS :P

I didn't know that! I still wouldn't feel comfortable using online banking, Natwest/Ulster Bank or not. Too much can go wrong.

Not really. Most stuff still needs you going into a branch. It's all pretty limited in what you can do. I mainly just use it to look at my balance.

  5. Surely having no national level curriculum can leave certain areas disadvantaged? I understand things like health care aren't a one size fits all solution, some regions may have more elderly care than paediatrics and so on, but all knowledge is equal. I'd be a tad upset if my child was to be taught one thing cos local education authority decided that's all they needed to know, but a friends kid a state over is being taught much more due to their LEAs policies. And also surely makes it a PITA for employees/employers finding out of state work if all the CVs have different examination results on them. If you're taking on a lab assistant then the prospective employee may have a grade B in science, but were they taught their acids from alkalis, or that H20 can be converted into a bunch of complex hydrocarbons? Sure in Biology you might touch upon cryptozoology, but not "Loch Ness is real" kind of sense.
  6. Yeah it taking off means it isn't in connection with the CPU and thus can't transfer the heat. Which is how the current heat sinks work, heat sink is attached to the CPU, heat from CPU goes into heatsink, the fan then blows cool air on/hot air away. Because this combines the duty of the fan and heatsink and also raises up from the CPU plate it means heat goes from the CPU, into a thin layer of air then supposedly into the heatsink-fan. Also most CPUs are on the side these days, this fan would only work in laptops (Where the CPU is horizontal) but it's freaking huge. Maybe it's mainly aimed for use in servers, but I'm to understand these days most of those are water cooled, and as no one works in them due to the heat issue, there's not really a bother with the noise output unlike a consumer PC in a home. A decent and quite CPU cooler can be had for like £15 with practically zero n highly efficient water cooling coming in around £50+. So they've got a pretty low spot to hit to be commercially viable. btw from the youtube snapshot I thought it might be one of those invisibility cloaks.

    Wii U

So half your list was third/second party titles then. And most of them are on the DS(coincidentally the one I own), but their seemingly flagship title for the Wii U is the Nintendoland, another in the Mii series of games that is once again a string of mini-games bundled together. New console it's usually nice to see a nice new big shot IP to go with it. They've raked in a ton of cash from Wii n DS sales (though are sliding a bit of late, to be expected EOL) just go crazy, throw some cash at a bright young team in their E&D studios n see what they come up with. What about a tycoon sim? Don't think they've got one of those. A non-Zelda RPG, A point n click adventure. Just make a stipulation not to dig through the Nintendo back lot n make a new game then throw in Mario or something. Mickey is a popular and highly recognisable character, Disney didn't stick him in most of their films.
  8. But how does a Trust end up £60million over budget? That's surely something that should have been noted of once it hit a few million. I assume administration will be much the same as if it was a regular company? In other news: This is now Elizabeth tower. Which complements the west tower which is "Victoria Tower". Oh and I'm kinda bummed that the response to the money shortages within local gov't due to the strain of elderly is "find more efficient ways to do things". That pretty much seems to be how the current gov't thinks the worlds works. Take away the source of money and people will magically find other ways of doing things.
  9. How does an an NHS Trust do anything but accrue debt? Anyone able to explain the difference between the usual NHS debt n the one at this place heading for insolvency.

  11. So at a shareholders meeting Wada stated that there will be no FFVII remake until the original is topped. So where was the 2000 remake of FFVII? http://andriasang.com/con1ny/wada_on_ffvii_remake/
  12. How does curriculum work in the US? Is it just whatever the school sets, or state by state, county by county, or is there a National Curriculum, just feel free to not pay attention to it? How the hell does the myth of the Loch Ness monster get taught as a science subject? A genetics class looking at centaurs, chimera and griffins.
  13. I don't understand how it's different to current fan designs. Also it's still noisy too, in fact at least current fans are a low hum n not a high pitched whine. edit: Herp Derp. It's putting the heat sink on the motor, not a fan. It's th exact same design as a heat sink so threw me off a bit when he's going on how amazing the design is n the fins and I'm like "well that's what we've had for years..."
  14. Why do you do this? WWWHHHHHYYYYY
  15. When it throws in Flow n Flower it's more of a "ThatGameCompany Collectors Edition" than a Journey one, though I guess Journey is the game on folks lips of late. Good that it does come with the other two though cos if $15 for a 2hr game was hard to swallow $30 won't have been any better There's also a trial out at some point cos I grabbed it other day. Yet to play though.

    Scrolls

Yeah not at all what I was expecting their 'card game' to be. I can see their card carousel getting annoying to use fast. Only so many of your cards in your deck listed at once, not gonna be fun to have to memorize your deck order each match.

    Wii U

Sorry when I was saying Nintendo had come up with 2 new franchises a decade I meant..Nintendo had come up with two new frnachises in a decade. I'm only on a dinky netbook so I couldn't check em all but most of the games you listed aren't Nintendo made titles. I'll give you Nintendogs though, guess I forgot on that one. (I'd already mentioned Pikmin n Wii/Miis), Sure it makes for an impressive list but when talking about Microsoft franchises no one lists off Mass Effect.
  18. Well there is Japan to consider. And while FFI n FFIV have been released a bajillion times, that's only about 4-6 times each, not once a month recurring charge for nearly 10 years.

    Scrolls

Updated the site http://scrolls.com/ And put out a gameplay trailer.
  20. http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/25/far-cry-3-delayed-to-dec-4-in-us-nov-29-in-europe-elsewhere/ Delayed until end of November for PAL n early December for NA. Cutting it pretty close to Xmas. Might as well delay it an extra 6+ weeks n call it a 2013 job by that point.
  21. Most profitable FF game announced. It is.....*drum roll* Final Fantasy XI!! They didn't put a price on it mind.

    Wii U

Well I'm not much care for All-Stars but there's still other stuff there. Other franchises. But with Nintendo I think maybe many fans want to see what they can put their magic too, some new titles n characters to add to the roost. Old faces are nice to see, but ..they're old. Problem with continually dusting off old franchises for a new outing decade after decade is if the franchise/character didn't appeal the first time it's unlikely to work the...18th time. Bring something new out, if only to build up the Smash Bros roster. Their last new franchise was over 6 years ago with the "Wii/Mii" range. And before that...best I can tell Pikmin in '01. Two franchises a decade, that's...terrible. That's why there's a "That's it?" reaction to the Nintendo conference. You've got WiiFit U, Nintendoland with the aginig Miis, another Pikmin and a Mario game...but you get lots and lots of gold coins. Then you've got Ubisoft show off Watch_dogs n everyone is like "woooh!!". Nintendo had a new console n still got a lacklustre reception. Putting the word "New" in the title..eg "New Super Mario Bros" doesn't make it new. "We called it Mario Kart 7 cos it's the seventh Mario Kart". They have a creative problem. Game developers block. I'd like to see them snap out of it cos Nintendo are clearly able to make some pretty neat franchises, and I (and I imagine many others) would like to care but Mario has somewhat limited appeal the 58th time he's trotted out on stage with a bit of febreeze sprayed on and Chuck Testa brought in as a "just in case".
