Only just seen this, but yeah it's very rare for companies to actually outright buy cameras unless it's a big film production and they can do some fancy Hollywood accounting to write it off in some way and send it to another production on the end (and when you're film costs $100million, then $100,000 isn't much). So vast majority are renting their cameras, which makes the most sense (and means you can grab it local to where you're shooting, instead of shipping gear everywhere). Though does clue in on how much the LinusTechTips channel must be making if a RED 8K, which is more aimed at filming Avengers:Infinity War, is seen as a reasonable expense to invest in compared to a more affordable Sony or Canon.

My general availability is: Most the time, GMT. I've the odd appointment now n then. This July I've also got the weekend of 15th n 22nd for siblings birthdays. (though I am free on 21st but I'll be having my mum n sister over...though not to host, they're just using this place for its beds that night so I can be anti-social). For ref: 8PM EDT is 1AM GMT/BST. As for TTS I've not played that much (and certainly not online) so bit of bearing with me on the functionality of stuff. I've officially got Zombicide (which I've played IRL). I've also grabbed a few things off the workshop, mainly stuff I've played IRL. No idea if this link'll work mind. Do agree with some of the more social things(slightly less so on Secret Hitler being a "social game" mind). I'd suggest Discord for voice chat?

Once again I think I've only played like one game from this year with the rest being stuff from last year. So for me it's Horizon: Zero Dawn. By default, but it's a good default. Very solid and enjoyable game, I liked the world they've created and the lore surrounding it. Visually it's stunning. And the updates from fan feedback are pretty cool to see in action too.

Half my siblings have birthdays this month so I can do this weekend or the last weekend of July. I'm possibly down for "too late at night", given I've not really got anywhere to be in mornings.

I've picked up Zombicide for TTS. I kinda prefer co-op games (also I've played it several times so kinda familiar with it compared to likes of Xia, which I've only done once though remember rather enjoying it)

Pretty much a kind of honour system. It kind of surprised me to see official "ports" to Tabletop sim, and they're pretty dang reasonably priced in the grand scheme of things. I'm still totally down for grabbing Xia or Zombicide if anyone would want a go. Also I bought Ticket to Ride on Android. Which I believe means it's the American version which I have not played.

And here is their Baby Driver spoiler special (so don't listen unless you've seen the film or care not one lick for spoilers) First hour is Edgar Wright, and the rest is the Empire staff chatting about the film. So some insight into what went into the film, what changed, difficulties*, anecdotes etc. And Edgar Wright laughing at his own jokes from the film he wrote, directed and produced * e.g directing a car chase in america as a British director and Americans know nothing about the parts of cars and road layouts.

Over here they play at the Royal Variety Performance Anywho come to state: Some of us found out that in the US MMS (picture messaging) is part of the data plan, and over here it's usually separate from plans (even on pay monthly it's a premium service). Which would probably do nothing to explain any variety (if there is one) in the ubiquity of FB mesenger/whatsapp/etc. between the two nations. But yeah in the UK SMS is very much a one-on-one text affair for the most part. Once upon a time in the cameraphone years some people might send the odd picture message but that's about it and group texts is very much a thing you put up with from your iPhone friends/colleagues that don't know any better.

There's one he did about Three Flavours Cornetto with Empire too, alongside Simon Pegg. Covers both the inception of the film along with a bit of a look into his kind of mindset on creating a film and directing it and such. Such as creating a film using a flipchart to plan it. Oh also covers a bit of Spaced because it is a bit of a fundamental part of Cornetto Trilogy and Wright n Peggs relationship.

Was there ever a debate? Since my younger sis has my PS3 I've lent her my copy of FFIX. Impressed on her that it's older than her and if she breaks the discs or what not I will remove an arm n so on. But yeah I'll see if she plays it. Also typing this I've remember I was meant to pass along a spare HDMI cable. Ah well.

Xia is another "only host needs DLC" i'd be up for grabbing(ive gotten fair bit in trading cards this sale) . Though it's a 1-3hr game . Or Zombicide which is 60+ but given I imagine placing of zombies is removed thats 30 mins saved. I would suggest Cosmic Encounter too which I noticed GOH also has. I'm up for stuff this weekend afaik.

Sweet. And yeah he's a fun dude and really into Baby Driver too.
