  1. May want to get a different host for that. edit: He ironically says as the forum goes down.
  2. hehe Oh lord http://gamerant.com/mass-effect-3-different-every-player-dyce-124489/
  3. Yeah Ethan, we had the reveal on it being PC-PS3 cross platform play.
  4. Eh? What's your point? Google Translate provides this: "Ha ha, your final checkout prices are simple to work out because a single tax means that all items can be taxed on the "shelves" rather than at the checkout based upon whatever tax laws are in place within the particular square mile location you're in at the time"
  5. I don't have it as an alternative to going to the cinema or what not, but I will sometimes take the wee ones into HMV to play on their tablets while my mum is in more boring shops. Also I'm with Thursday, when I'm shopping I tend to know what I want, which is why I tend to make a beeline right for specific segments. Not really keen on folks "can I help you with anything". I know where you are, when I came into the store and saw what I wanted I also passed my gaze by you stood by the stand in the middle. Had I wanted your help with anything instead of specifically wanting a PS3 controller/android phone/mens t-shirts/whatever, then I'd have gone to you instead of the shelves with PS3/android/tshirts on.
  6. You checked the site? Origin is iffy in that some of the deals are on the client and some are on the site. And some are if you're in one country and some deals if you're in another. It shows up as sale on my end, and it's an alright price but not an alright time.
  7. So you know the episode where he hides as a human, and he has a recording of instructions to give to Martha. Well she fast forwards it. They needed content to fast forward through:
  8. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Devs need to look at what this guy is doing: https://www.facebook...acksonNZ/videos Already an hours worth of "making of" and it's not even out to be put on the disc yet. It shows the passion in the project, and even explains the technical stuff (like the whole 3-D 48fps 5K stuff)
  9. I've a feeling their viewpoints may be shaped by their online infrastructure(i.e: lack of), but I guess we'll see in the future as Nintendo Network takes off on the Wii U if they stick to their "complete experience" stuff.
  10. I've got Portal 2 on both PS3 and PC. Though I think my sister has my PS3 copy atm.
  11. Enslaved-ish. Not massively drawn me in right away mind, coding took priority a bit. Gonna see about beating it before Friday. Looks a bit Bulletstorm-ey but melee. I'm not sure I'm into the melee stuff, maybe not my cup of tea. The escort stuff isn't too bad though, at least she has useful abilities. Still doing Bioshock 2 now n then on PC. Up next for RPGs (After FFXIII-2 and ME3 this month) is Alpha Protocol so I can uninstall it (I got it when Currys/Dixons opened their digital distribution store and I've a feeling I won't be able to re-install it once it's gone, so if I can beat it and uninstall it I can wipe my OS without fear.) As for Portal 2, I ended up with Want You Gone on my playlist yesterday and I do kinda want to do Portal 2 again.
  12. Bioware have responded with regards to the DLC http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2012/03/12/bioware-and-ea-respond-to-dlc-controversy/ Thing is they could just come out with these things all well in advance (not helped by the Prothean DLC been a footnote on the CE advertisements) and not have to wait until folks dig apart the game and go "hey look, this guy is actually in the game" before responding. Bleurgh give it a couple years, well out of the "we need to sell this game" period, and I bet we'll see a few "yeah ME3 was a mistake" type comments. A richly interwoven narrative does not introduce technical limitations to the Unreal Engine. There's also still the contradiction in "We made this during certification" and "we include the character in the game cos we can't put him in through DLC". You did one or the other, and since the dude is clearly in the game they clearly didn't wait until after the game was done to work on the DLC. Oh thoughts on the ending I've had for a few days but carry on forgetting to put up: I think it's a case of fucking themselves over with carrying over so many choices throughout the games. Probably ended up with a few hundred choices over the trilogy leading a potential few million variations. In the end it's simpler to go "fuck it, give everyone the same three endings". Up next for me is Alpha Protocol as my RPG cycle, I hear that actually does well with it's ending variations.
  13. The one where his neck isn't attached to his face? That really pulled me out of the game when in the hospital scenes. Not only was it not attached properly but the torso was so low res n low poly. As for the alternative ending I have heard whispers, but nothing concrete, that the orignal ending by the lead writer dude was dropped, and traces of a final battle with Harbinger are in the games code. But I've yet to see anything solid on it. That alternative makes more sense in that it does offer an option of the Reapers "winning", which I felt was off in the current ending. No matter what, the reapers "lose", seemed weird.
  14. Yes we have motorized carts. We rarely, if ever, have folks bagging our stuff. Bags are plastic, some small fruit vendors might do paper bags but it's not too common. We do have "Bags for Life" (as in pay liek £1 for a bag, and as it get's fucked up with age take it back an and they'll replace it for free). For places like Tesco with loyalty points they also offer "Green points" for when you have your own bags. Never had people take the shopping to the car,
  15. http://edition.cnn.com/2012/03/11/tech/web/online-comments-sxsw/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 So this was on Slashdot, an interview with Nick Denton (head of Gawker) talking about commenting on his sites. Can't imagine why Sounds fun.
  16. There was a great documentary I watched years ago about how supermarkets are planned and laid out, how they track people coming in to know how many tills they'll need to open in half an hours time, why the have the fruit n veg first, how they stack the shelves to push certain items over others, etc. Amazing stuff. Manipulative as hell, but a marvel to see.
  17. I feel the outcomes would be something along the lines of:
  18. TIL that the equity firm that sold Bioware-Pandemic was co-founded by John Riccoteillio, current EA CEO. He left EA in 04'. In '05 Elevation Partners bought Bioware-Pandemic, and in 07, same year Ricotiellio went back to EA, sold B-P to EA.

Before B-P, they also tried to buy Eidos too. It's not a conventional fit, but I do think SE works well with them.

    2. Waldorf and Statler

      Waldorf and Statler

It's not conventional at all, but it's cool because SE has no idea how to make a western game so as far as I know they let Eidos do their thing. Unlike EA.

    3. Faiblesse Des Sens

      Faiblesse Des Sens

^Yeah. At first I didn't think it was going to work out, but once Eidos settled in they started pumping out decent games.

  19. AARGH. Swapped over to a HDMI cable for my TV Monitor and my ClearType has fucked up and all text is a pain to read.

Nope. I'll just watch Blu-rays on my PS3 I guess.

  20. GAME/Gamestation are selling 320GB PS3s with a copy of AC:Revelations for £99 a pop. You'll have to go in store n be quick though, going fast.
  21. http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/game-stock-plummets-below-1p/092603 GAME stock is now worth 98.8% less than it used to be. Incidentally 98% less than original price is their trade in policy too...
  22. http://arstechnica.c...-repentance.ars Somewhat agree with this. It was quite in line with some of my thinkings the other day. You know those scenes in cartoons where the hungry character glances across at Tweety/road runner n sees a walking talking roast chicken? It does kinda feel like many publishers look across n see (Kinda crappy the comments didn't read to see they're not actual religious preachers n are lambasting them as such) As for fighting games with characters locked on the disc; didn't they always do that. Just you played the game to unlock them, not opened your wallet.
  23. Incredible. Surely Obama wants everyone to have the opportunity or the choice to go to college? He's not gonna run around stuffing rednecks into hessian sacks and dumping them in college campuses (campi?) to have liberals force book-learnin' on them. Actually what Obama said (not going to be bothered to find the video) was that he wants every American to commit to at least one year of higher education, whether that's a four year university, a community college, trade school or an apprenticeship (he actually mentioned all of those things). See that sounds much more likely. And fairly sensible. I guess it's harder to bitch about those liberal hippy plumbers.
  24. Yeah, ours you can turn on a six pence, but the locked rear wheels on an american trolley require a bit more room.
