  1. http://www.itworld.com/business/140626/legacy-1800s-leaves-tokyo-facing-blackouts I guess this may give them a chance to fix this issue.

  3. Started playing this last night (White with a Snivy) and my oh my has it improved and streamlined considerably over it's older games. I'm loving the tiered exp gain. It might mess up later down the line when I'm using lvl 50's to boost lvl 5's but at the start it's absolutely blasting my pokemon levels up,. Which in turn does mean tougher early battles. Wasn't really expecting lvl 7's just out my home town Love they give you a second starter to balance out the type disadvantage. Shame there's a lot of wi-fi features that I'd miss out on. Definitely picking this up in summer. (which version is recommended btw, White I know get's White Forest with more pokemon, but does Black City have anything to balance that out?)

  5. I'd say FFXII, but that's changing. It was largely hated on upon launch (personally I really liked it) but I think it's only when the child of their hatred was spawned; FFXIII, that folks realised how nice FFXII actually was. Though Crysis is pretty good choice too. It is true that pretty much all of the game is overlooked in favour of continually going on about it's looks. Which has meant that the sequel has no standards to live up to other than to maintain decent graphics. If folks harped on more about the multiplayer we might of still had vehicles this time around, and maps in MP might be a tad more open ended.
  6. Watched Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels the other day. I'd say it's more fun and less real I'd say than Snatch. But Snatch is much much more polished and refined. Also Lock Stock is much more british.
  7. Yeah that's kinda why I didn't reply directly, I'd read the article before replying. :/

  9. Yeah I've got a nice Parker whimsy flims mark n scribbler. That's pretty much good enough for me. Also @WTF: I'd never assume off an avatar the gender of the person on the net. As someone with Zatanna as their avatar I'd thought you'd know best
  10. I don't think the 360 one started off any better. I've not tried either though. And I'd only do a write-up if I were 100% sure the problems were on their end. I can say with confidence (and you can go back n read this thread) that as someone who's played the PC MP demo, the 360 MP demo and the singleplayer PC demo Crytek were nice enough to release, that yeah the MP demo's were pretty fucked for the other two. 360 version runs like shit in both lag (though that got better) and native frame rate (that might get better in final release). And the PC version had a ton of issues with the server browser making it nigh impossible to join a decent match. (yeah this bit is more directed as excaliburps)
  11. So I'm unsure if any of you heard but the past day or so has been a buzz with the news that Valve basically have decided they're not gonna use advertising agencies for Portal 2 as they find them pretty useless. So they're doing the ad's themselves. Well about an hour or so ago the first one came out:

      What game is this?

Witcher. Abigail is the witch in chapter I. At first the beast/barghast would kill her in the fight, then if I saved her through that the villagers pop up in some pseudo cutscene and she's killed while the reverend talks to you. Turns out she just pops right back to life afterwards.

      Hot Heart

Ah, right. Couldn't remember her name. That's an odd one.

  13. I was thinking the "rooty-tooty point and shooty" might of made a few folks question it.
  14. Same here. Wasn't going to pipe up till an American started questioning it.
  15. http://www.webupd8.org/2011/03/gtk-32-will-let-you-run-any-application.html If I used Linux this would be pretty damn interesting to me (but I don't) Though Gimp and Pidgin on Windows run in GTK (afaik, might have changed) so this could be possible with that, though if it needs bash, then that'd be a no.

  18. http://store.steampowered.com/news/5141/ It's on sale at 33% off until Monday, and there's a free weekend running, got an event up on Kites. So yeah, I strongly suggest folks download this and hop on board.
  19. Just a minor note on this, but the committee who vote on the VG BAFTAs and the guys who vote on the normal BAFTAs aren't the same. http://www.bafta.org...ttee,98,BA.html http://www.bafta.org/awards/video-games/video-games-eligibility-judging,541,BA.html Most of them are part of the VG industry, so I have a feeling the same system and standards that apply for the regular BAFTAs don't cross over much. edit: http://www.bafta.org/awards/video-games/video-games-awards-categories,539,BA.html
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vtn5dm9uYi8 Looks very old-school Spielberg. (guess the producer)
  21. Ah, yeah sorry Ethan, that should be "on". Fireworks go off though. err... yeah there's that.
  22. Well I've done my write-up http://pressxordie.com/2011/03/16/british-academy-video-game-awards-2011/ It nearly didn't go published (hence me dumping the list a few posts up, but then I found a feed of the end)
  23. Well if something is "going off" I'd guess that's like the milk, eggs, cheese, meat starting to smell up the fridge.
