  1. http://www2.warnerbros.com/spacejam/movie/jam.htm The Space Jam promotional website, untouched for over 14 years. In comparison here's a modern movie website: http://disney.go.com/tron/
  2. My profile page is now jamming it up to 14yrs of web history http://www2.warnerbros.com/spacejam/movie/jam.htm

  3. A girl, the 2 Japanese would of been impressive a hundred years back, not so much now, ooh American nerd scary, and an Indian, which despite their vast numbers even we 'beat'.
  4. Well he's Canadian, I doubt he put up much of a fight.
  5. Ah yes not filled in on this thread: From 2010: Supreme Commander 2 Mass Effect 2 Medal of Honour Alien Swarm From before 2010: Bioshock Mirrors Edge Half-life 2 and episodes Prototype Borderlands Killzone 2 Modern Warfare 2 Sam & Max ep 1-4
  6. Eurgh. Fucking lag. I wish they'd hurry up and set up dedicated servers for this thing. I know it's beta n all, but I'm not gonna sit around about a month and just assume that once the launch button hits they'll magically add dedi's there n then. They should be in place pre-launch or I'd have no guarantee they'll ever get put in place. This is the same shit I had with Lead n Gold and it really kind puts you off investing in these smaller £10 MP only games. Yeah most other MP games cost a fair bit more, but at least they have Dedi's up n running. Not like there's a cost to the developer (though yeah there will be in the beta until like everyone else can set em up)
  7. http://mailer1.game.co.uk/servlet/website/ResponseForm?nHtLEVTUTPrXB_uLP5LHkEKLHgI-ttOFohmtHpsDJhDNr I just got this. It's like "hey, you're a gamer...that means you must want fitness games!" I much prefer amazons target approach of "You browse blu-rays alot, heres some recent bluirays" or "you've looked at games, heres some games".
  8. I do hate that it's not until you hotlink an image that it'll warn you if they don't want you to do that. It'd be nice if it came up blank on the google image search.
  9. This is the closest they'll have And it's not very mascot like.
  10. Well technically I'd of been the first impression of steam members. It certainly wasn't bill, he wasn't involved till a while later. But are folks really wanting to bring up old pathetic arguments on here too?
  11. Exactly. Just with the problem that Sony don't whore him out as much as Mario is. Sackboy is a bit over 2 years old. By that point in his life Mario had already starred in like 10 games. Sackboy needs more games, genres, cameos and should be on every street corner every night wearing fish tights. GAME should have a big stand with "15 years of Playstation" and a smiling sackboy on the forefront. He has the potential to be a mascot, but not the marketing. Also I'll throw this out here as it shows kinda quite well the varied 'mascots' they've acquired: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=61035
  12. Meh. Kratos is kinda one dimensional (then again...) He's not appealing, that'd be the one. MArio n sonic are loveable. Drake n MC you'd drink a few beers with. Kratos...not so much. Sackboy I think they'd aimed to. But they'd of had to have made MNR as LBP:Racers and made those sackboy teddies n put em everywhere. Lara Croft is certainly one of PS1's mascots.
  13. I guess what Sindo is trying to say is that Playstation doesn't have itself tied to any particular character. And therefore isn't tied down to producing those games starring that character and thus can flex itself a bit on the sort of 1st party titles it makes. Whereas Nintendo will always have Mario, and yeah it works out very well for them. But means everything else is on a lower plane. And Microsoft have Masterchief and well..... He's dead and the studio who made him work for Activision. Sony are quite into their 3rd n 2nd party work too, so I think for them having a mascot to push above all others would be detrimental to the relationships with other studios. (see Nintendo ) I'd say Naughty Dog are the Playstation Mascot makers. Crash for PS1, Jax n Daxter for PS2(...maybe) and Nate Drake on PS3. Crash was very 90's, all bright colours n such. A platformer in 3D showing off the jump that 5th gen provided. I think it was kinda heavily marketed then as the Sony alternative to Mario n Sonic. Jak not so much I guess. PS2 I wouldn't be so sure to say on a mascot. PS3 NAte n the uncharted games line up very well. It's a semi realistic looking game, which is what they wanted to showcase with 7th gen. No silly bright colours n stylised looks, this was the power to make photorealistic places n people. It was a more fleshed out character, showing the mature audience they were aiming for. Movie like storyline for the blu-ray stuff. So yeah I'd say SCE has no mascot like Nintendo n MS have. But the individual consoles kinda do. And at the moment Nate Drake and the Uncharted series are their flagship.
  14. I have a bottle of wine I dunno if it's worth cracking open...
  15. HAPPY NEW YEAR Should old acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind ? Should old acquaintance be forgot, and days of old lang syne ? You know the chorus
  16. Another good one, though we've found the Thru thing is untrue and it's just short hand.
  17. So this was an old thread that got a fair bit of use. While the base language for UK n US may be the same, hundreds of years apart have lead to some changes in the words we use, the meanings some words have and the phrases and such that we use. Obviously main difference is the lack of U in the US words. A good starting point that was linked in last time is here: http://www.bg-map.com/us-uk.html Here's a nice fun one too. So got any words that you've maybe picked up on watching Doctor Who, Top Gear, Office etc you don't have a clue about, or vice versa with CSI, holly wood, Office etc just yell up.
  18. I doubt you require the other skills of gaming making to write for them. Amy Hennig doesn't strike me as the programming/modelling type.
  19. It's maybe not one of the greatest, but it has Tim Curry, Oh Snap, Sulu, J. Jonah Jameson and Albert Einstein in it.

    Steam

3 was kinda crappy compared to older ones. Had a good start though.... Sup Com 2 is smaller than the previous game, but shiny n stuff. I enjoyed it, but not played much online. Mostly a LAN game for me.
  21. This. I'm supposed to be trying to be a writer, but I spend most of my time playing video games or frittering it away on the internet. Must... better... self... Well it's research isn't it. Into how not to write. In fact you could play a game, then write a better story line for it.
  22. MegaMix Chicken Burger. It's something a local takeaway does. A regular chicken fillet thing with two strips of their spicy chicken on top coated with lettuce n mayo with some of the best fries on the side.
