So the topic for any hot pieces of kit either out or upcoming. From whole systems to beastly GPUs to nice peripherals to top it all off. Oh yeah it's a 10in tablet/laptop so about size of a iPad/large net top. It works as a tablet so it does all the touch screen things. My only worry is it's rocking Android, which is half there n half not for tablets/nettops. Essentially it's a tablet PC with a slide out keyboard. The Tablet version of the Moto Droid. Well Russia have been doing tons of test on isolation n stuff.. Being cooped up for many many months all alone. Of course Mars colonisation would be many decades. But best to start small. (acorns oaks n all that) Actually talking of Russia, you know theres a large chance that it won't be NASA who do this whole thing right? Bear in mind the latest bits of news on NASA have been funding cuts, them finding bacteria in California, them naming n shaming 2012 as worse science in a film, and the shuttles stopping and having to piggy back on Russia Soyuz rockets to get to ISS. Russia have the studies on colonisation Mars trips, they have the working space program, they're kinda short on cash but I'm sure if they ask China might not be too unwilling to pony up, and there's shit loads of commercial potential for private investment. The patents alone would be worth potentially tens of billions. If not trillions. The propulsion technology required to get stuff shipped off fast enough to make it worthwhile would no doubt filter down to the military. The tech to build enclosed self sustained enclosure would/could allow stronger structures on earth, the ability to grow a wide variety of food on any environment on earth. Long term we'd no doubt look in to terra-forming technology which would and could allow us to do wonders for 3rd world countries and the amazon rainforest. You'd be required to make a self-sustained 'town', that would run on nothing but the materials we have on earth. If we can do that on Mars, we can do it pretty much anywhere. Once things are more settled in the uber-rich will be able to use the now much cheaper space flights to go on exotic holidays to Mars. Thats got to be worth a bob or two. "Climb the Olympus Mons; Stand atop the highest peak in the solar system", "Romantic breaks away; No children for miles around". Mars, in case the red hue never gave things away, is pretty Iron rich. Iron is worth quite a bit (and should they set up smelting facilities would allow to actually create more structures on the surface) So that's a bonus. Other mineable materials include Mar's 1.6% Argon content in the air. (ours is .9%) People may say that going to MArs will cost alot. No shit. But you've got to spend money to make money. Come on US is spending shit loads on a war in the middle east for what? A few decades of oil? How very short term. Think big. Think grand. The stars the limit.

I guess you missed Ethans comment that we can also use controllers too. And my desk at the moment is pretty huge. My dads is a small thing in the corner. It's all up to taste. My current desk is actually more of a table, it's about 2.5 feet deep n 4 feet wide. Pretty big. And also to taste is my current monitor size. Which is also the TV I play consoles on. Sofas are good for party games n the like, but single player gaming end up fidgeting too much. Also TV's are too small.

Yeah I froze in the transition over to the london level, was gonna quit, but then it just unfroze. Had issues with booting the game up first time too, but hopefully it won't be an issue in future.

If you feel you're too close then.... move back? Most chairs have wheels too. Awesome invention. As for chairs, for me I feel that being in an upright position just helps me with gaming as much as it helps me with work. If you feel better by sprawling across the couch then that's up to you.

Same here. Pretty fun. Kinda weird the cheaper Bullpup was a better gun than the AK-47. I think next time I'll not upgrade n wait to get the more expensive one. Also the lag wasn't too bad (I've had some horrible matches on L4D with US folks, pretty much only weapon I can use is katana cos guns fire too slow) I'll be up for it again, though unsure how often I'll be waking up at 6am to participate

What's eye strain got to do with a couch? Surrounds sound is equally easy to set up between the two as well. In fact cos PC gaming is primarily single player it can be set up perfectly for PC use, no need to try n balance it between a room of folks sitting about. As for a decent chair, you're upright n focused on the game. You're in..the zone.

Well not really. For one no one's suggested it, but secondly, that's a nice advantage of the PC platform. If you start including silly 'stipulations' like that it's just gonna start a whole load of bollocks Faiblesse doesn't have a nice chair.

Be great theory n all except just like the English the Americans don't all speak with one accent. We actually got different ones in the UK done by Mitchell n Webb which isn't the best idea cos not everyone's keen on either of them. Though of the two Webb is the more disliked. hehe. Give it about 3-4months. (But don't set your alarm for then..) It's gonna end up the same as Windows n Mac. Ones cheaper n more versatile, allowing for all range of budgets n manufacturers, n the others an Apple. Several manufacturers vs one it's kind of inevitable that it's going top push past iPhone. As for Macs: I fucking hate the assumption that cos you're doing a digital creative profession that you obviously should be using macs. No they are shitty computers, I don't want to use them. I'd like to work not fucking stare at a beach ball all day when you open anything more computationally demanding than Safari. Thankfully this year all but a couple of stalwart tutors kinda got the message so now we're mostly on some nice n shiny Windows 7 machines that can actually do shit.
