I always have it on 24hrs, usually has at least a few posts. Depends on your other settings I guess, you've not blocked out some sub-forums or got it showing as only "unread" or what not?

Oh I have movies, VR n software off by default.

Well this is easy : So to copy from last years and tweak a bit (like literally changing a couple of tenses and a few other bits n bobs): Steam ID: deanbmmv, UK General criteria: Something shortish I'd guess, which'll run counter to what I'll post below. Just aware I can struggle to end many longer games though I do heavily enjoy them. Something singular and straight forward, like I guess Dishonered would be cool. What are your favourite genres? Action/RPG/puzzle/Open-world stuff. What are your favourite games? Final Fantasy IX would be a biggy. I like puzzle game type things (I'm terrible for skinner box mobile games). Witcher 3 was pretty great. Deus Ex was neat. Stanley Parable was kinda unexpected neatness but I've played similar games and they've fallen short. Are you looking for any non-Steam gifts? Not hugely. I've a PS4 but it's region locked so I'd guess kinda balls. No Android gifting either which sucks cos there's a few stuff on there I'm interested. Will you take games not on your wishlist? I you think it'd be a good fit, there's like billions of games on Steam now and I do struggle to look through n see if there's anything I might find interesting. Any other information you think relevant? Here's my Darkadia since I might own games on other platforms/not-Steam. I do need to update it though, but it's not too far out http://darkadia.com/member/deanbmmv I probably need to update my Steam wishlist, as sort of before a bit of it is more for me in keeping tabs on games I've an interest in without having to "Follow" it all over my "Steambook" page. In fact looking over it I'm like "I don't know a bunch of these games". So yeah I'll pencil in some Wishlist polishing. I have on on my Darkadia too, though more on console stuff.

Can't embed cos I stuck it on Twitter but here's my Regalia https://twitter.com/deanbmmv/status/804403855807090688 My previous Regalia (n slick views). I kept the go faster stripe running along the top of course And here's that weird gil thing I mentioned and another picture for good measure (taken from behind the Chocobo ranch I believe). Also you can't climb the arches, they're neatly designed so the main ledge that'd let you get on them is just a smidge too high.

Awww yis. You know it's the best soundtrack cos it has two CDs to buy.

Do you have a thing pop up for hotels n petrol being "15 -> 30gil" I'm not sure what that's about. Oh it is worth noting that a full tank of gas doesn't get you too far in comparison with a modern car. But I guess modern car doesn't fly either.

So something fun: A few weeks ago (heck I guess might be over a month now) Bill Cinton remarked that "Jeremy Corbyn was the maddest guy in politics". Which national papers latched on to. You see, while he may have meant it in the "angriest" sense, sort of "I'm mad as hell and not gonna put up with this" way, it gets played over here in the "crazy/insane" sense.

@Mal: Dang that old Regalia. The new Regalia is great. I love my design atm, abusing the resizing options for the "race stripes" to give a two tone throughout. and japanese dub: In other news Square reckon it's sold 5 million on day one making it the fastest selling FF. Kinda amazing given the other wise shitty game sales this month (unless loads of people were waiting on this? I know I was). I'm now into Chapter 3 and the game has opened up a fair bit more, now into the Duscae region (which is the area from their first demo, except that was barely a thin slice of the finished area). Goddamn is it pretty. Especially the meteor in the centre, it glows with a sort of blue flame at night which looks great. I did the Deadeye mission too, the "boss battle" of the Duscae demo n the fog in it is probably the best fog I've ever seen. If I wasn't having to be all sneaky I'd have screenshotted the fuck out of it, such a great gradient on seeing his shadow, or just sort of his tail sticking out as you're trying to follow him to his lair. And hey means I now have Chocobos. Also got to Lestallum the first of the towns. Pretty cool place, obviously it's not sized like a proper town but it's got a nice layout that belies that with a market stall, shops, the swanky area with fountain n high end hotel (where you and your princely entourage crash), as well as the crappy alleyways with rubbish stacked up n pipes around. Such a change from FFXIII One minor issue I have is with the main story. At least two of them have dead dads (Gladios dad is the kings protector, same as Gladio is to Noctis), yet the only sorta mention Regis n there's not really much of an impact it's like "oh your dad is dead, the empire has taken your home city, go n grab the weapons of past kings". It feels a bit of an elephant in the room to not like have them chat at a camp or something. Also it's annoying you can't take on multiple hunts and just activate them as n when you want. Somewhat slows the pacing of doing missions since you've got to go to the guy, get hunt, go do hunt, come back, do another hunt etc. Be nice for the Regalia Quest list to include levels too, gotta go into the main menu n find it from there. Oh handy tips: - Push R3 when your stamina is at ~5% (you can enable the stamina bar in the menu which is handy for hanging off buildings too since you drop when it's low) - You can't eat meals at hostels/caravans so you won't get a boost for future battles (though you do get a multiplier for current XP gain in levelling up) - The frog mission is a bitch, I'd suggest just googling the solution for that - You only get a brief foray of manual driving in early game, so plough through to Chapter 3 if you want to manually drive. - Buying food items, reading books (they're lying around), doing hunts, unlocks new recipes for Ignis *clicks fingers* I think there's a couple. I'll add down the line.

So this was mentioned on Empire Podcast other day (though I think it was one of their backlog episodes). http://www.cinemorgue.com/ It's a site that catalogues the various on-screen deaths of actors. Has a wiki version, which I guess means able to edit it n such too http://cinemorgue.wikia.com/wiki/John_Hurt I like the opening line of both sites being "Let's not bicker and argue about who killed who..."

https://twitter.com/Steam_Spy/status/804072335997358084 So word is that 38% of all games on Steam were put on this year (though not always that they were games that came out this year, but that's a thin slither I'd wager). Which I guess would explain why it feels like a horrible mess to go through when doing wishlists or discovery queues n what not. Steam also recommends based on my "not interested" stuff that I should add: Action, Adventure, Singleplayer, Multiplayer, Indie. to my tag exclusion list. Which I guess would be a great way to massively slim down the store

So this is a thing. You do a survey of sorts, put in some games you like playing n it makes a profile for you. Here's mine: https://goo.gl/BEFjBz I'm "Low conflixt, relaxed, and grounded" And Cyberrats/MDKII https://apps.quanticfoundry.com/tabletop/59c045ac46c842a2a1949f48fc53b1d0/

Cos I follow em I've been seeing a bunch of their art work from this for a while. It's gonna be a pretty game regardless. Quite amazing to see the progress made from Sir, You Are Being Hunted to this.

For those that care the ASA ruling was not upheld https://www.asa.org.uk/Rulings/Adjudications/2016/11/Valve-Corporation/SHP_ADJ_351045.aspx#.WD6_B_mLRHZ Essentially since it's mainly targeted to what was shown on Steam page rather than things shown off at E3 or TV interviews n such it's a bit toothless in what can be done (for one while Hello Games is UK based, E3 n Colbert aren't). What's a bit concerning is that HG continued to push a bunch of their now provably false stuff in response to the ASA ruling. In fact there's a lot of "Hello Games provided footage" in the response, which is a big part of the issue folks have had with the game since the E3 stuff has been shown to be purposefully scripted rather than the randomly generated shit you play through with the released game. But I guess overall no one here cares since no one posted about the addition of base building in a game where you're encouraged to spend a few minutes on a planet gathering resources to warp further into the core, rather than stick around on one planet.

Based on the last couple weeks and the fact that he just shits out onto Twitter whatever is on his mind it'll be interesting to see how international pokemon gonna play out in the next 4 years.

Man my PC will be turning 3 in a month. I guess I should get it a cake.

It's the route moores law is being pushed into for commercial applications, since people want more portable non-mains devices. Most components years ago far surpassed what the average person needs to facebook, tweak a few photos n watch HD movies. I still prefer ATX. A thief is gonna struggle to take my PC.

So I'm ~5hrs in (hard to tell cos it counts time while paused). I'm in Chapter 2 now, so beyond the "Judgment Disc" demo from Japan, though yet to reach Duscae. The inclusion of Kingsglaive scenes in some parts is good, for example the opening with Regis seeing your crew off from Insomnia, but also a bit weirdly placed for the between Chapters showing the fall of Insomnia n death of Regis which was mostly just mixed up heavily edited cuts together with little context (I only knew what was happening cos of seeing the film). The loading screen after it does actually give a paragraph of text though, which I feel might have been better overlayed on the Kingsglaive footage. But ah well. There's currently a wee bug that seems to be impacting nearly everyone though by how much depends on if you've a dirt cheap shitty TV or not. It's not using the PS4 screen settings so it's a bit bigger than it should be and you've got to change your aspect ratio settings on TV to fit the edge of screen in. I imagine that'll be a quick fix though. Otherwise I'm having fun. Managed to have a fight against some birds which were only rumoured before now. Being able to warp around certainly makes fights against flying beasties fun. I imagine if I was skilled enough I'd be able to move through the flock without hitting the ground once. Getting a lot more out of it now it's in a language I understand (incidentally given the options I had on loading I think this is dual audio). There's also more hunts and side quests than the demo had for the area (though I think a bit of it might be missing the side quests from not understanding what was going on ). I'll add more thoughts later, off to pub.

So Excel posted about the PA system outside his house playing christmas music n Ethan became intrigued about their being public PA systems set up. Anywho after a bit of joking about likes of V for Vendetta n such pointed out that yeah some towns n cities do have PA systems, usually hooked up to CCTV cameras to tell folks to get off bikes in city centres, or pick up litter or what not. I'd pointed out town I last lived in had such a system set up, and hey in looking up an example video what was up the top but my old town. Ahh...Middlesborough, so long.

It made perfect sense, as it stood the game stamped to disc for a September release wouldn't have ran properly without a hefty patch, screwing over folks on slower net or limited net access. Instead the current patch is mainly just a few QoL tweaks such as a couple tweaks to menus n such, as well as adding in some Omen n Kingsglaive scenes for context. You can play the game fine without the patch.
