She uses water with the vacuum? There are water vacuums (we had to use one when I lived at a pub, regular hoovers only manage so much) but seems weird to use it with a regular vacuum. I've seen a bunch of a the "can be an upright or a handheld" things kicking around of late, but for most part many just seem like a handheld with an extra long handle so usually gonna suck (Well..not suck enough) compared to a proper upright. I'm glad most of our place is wooden floors, got a microfibre broom thing which deals with most issues, and a steam mop for wet spills n such.

None of you noticed that those of us here that actually watch the shows all agree he's a pretty damn fine villain, and all of you who won't watch the show think he's a crap fan servicey villain. Anywho a cool fan servicey bit in recent rebels was the infiltrator droid totally being a blue Ralph McQuarrie C3-P0: Which is cool. (now I'd definitely say basing a lot of the characters and art style of Rebels on Ralph McQuarrie stuff is fan servicey, in a tasteful way).

Yeah power wise it's a high-end-ish Android tablet. At best on-par with the PS3 n 360. Essentially a Nividia Shield tablet running Nintendo software.

Due Date Pretty fun film, with some not so subtle "RDJ dealing with daddy issues" kinda thrown in. I feel there's a bit in the middle where RDJ warms up fully to Zach that I feel is a bit unearned but otherwise it's pretty fine film and since it's a comedy I can allow it that minor lapse. Oh yeah this happens

Midnight Special Seemed up my street, something I'd missed out at cinema. It's a pretty simple, and sort of old-fashioned sci-fi. Michael Shannon and Joel Edgertone trek the formers son across America to a sort of pre-ordained meeting place while a cult that used the kid as a kind of prophet and the FBI try and hunt them down. It's pretty neat how it unfolds the story, there's some exposition of sorts, but for the most part the story starts sort of in the action and you pick things up, mainly about the kid, as you go along. e.g the opening they're in a motel room and they've boarded up the window n duct taped the peep hole, you think "hey maybe that's to keep FBI from snooping" or what not. Nope, find out later why they do that. The kid is pretty decent, the action and flow of the film is pretty great. Ending is sort of..cliched of sorts. Like you can kind of work out the eventuality fairly early in. The kid is pretty great in it too, as far as kid actors go. Does well with the whole "8 year old who is wise beyond his years" type. Nothing super special, but decent solid flick.

@TME: You carry on lumping the shows in with the EU, which isn't canon. @GOH: I'd guess it was more down to the reshoots than the shows. There was nothing in the film version that felt off from his show version, especially given there's like a 20 year difference between the two. His main things brought over is he's one of the earliest and most militarised rebels having being a rebel during the clone wars, and he's kinda separate from humanity in having lost his sister to the CIS. Rebels did a better job in filling in the "what has he been up to since", but hey the films > the shows right.

Yeah the EU/Legends is a pretty defined thing and not just "anything that isn't a film", which yeah as Atomsk points out includes The Clone Wars. You can take it or leave it in watching the non-episode stuff but it's there and it's canon. Disney didn't spend several billion, scrub the entire pre-existing EU and set up a story group to keep all the plates spinning canon-wise for folks to be "well this isn't really Star Wars". In other news despite literally just doing the same for Cushing and a younger Fisher Disney have officially come out and said they've no plans to digitally recreate Carrie Fisher: http://www.starwars.com/news/a-statement-regarding-new-rumors And also Woody Harrelson confirmed as Han Solos mentor on the totally not fan servicey Young Han Solo film.

There's a bit with a background conversation discussing not firing rail weaponry willy nilly, then iirc later you find a planet that has a giant artificial canyon on it that's presumed to me from a massive rail gun that grazed it...and there's also that sorta-dead Reaper and nothing is ever really tied together as you'd expect.

Memento I know it's a critically acclaimed film n all, it just didn't entirely do it for me. A bit too artsy in its telling, Nolan got better at the nested narrative and unreliable narrator with Prestige. I think the ending doesn't quite pay-off the opening either. Also it's a film where you kind of have to watch it a second time to understand the narrative, compared to say a film where you can watch it again and rewarded with new things.

Remembered there's another dude whos got even less of him left than like any other Star Wars dude: But nooo robot legs are a huge stretch for the series. Anywho: You're not the only one mentioning EU, even though as mentioned EU became Legends years ago and none of that counts and Disney/Lucasfilm in their place have been quite picky on what is and isn't canon. And in things only being in the shows for fan service how come none of you have brought up this dude either: Who up until last year was only in the EU/Legends and not canon but now is because he's in that show none of you watch. And he was a bit of a fan favourite in the EU worlds, so his returning/bringing into the fold of the Disney Canon is pretty fan servicey. But it's only cheaper if you're going to buy both things separately. If you get it to replace either your Wii U or your 3DS (or both) then you're fucked on both fronts cos it's either gonna be a bit sub-par on the party games front since you'll need to remortgage to get enough controllers to go around (Wii U at least used your pre-existing Wii controllers), and you're highly unlikely to see a mainline Pokemon game on there (heck I don't think the Wii U had any spin-off games on it did it. Certainly not the downright obvious Snap 2). It somehow fails to replace either in any meaningful way. And I'm to understand they haven't spoken at all about the OS so no clue if it'll do even "basic" things like Netflix & youtube, or anything about Virtual Console, or what they're going to do to properly fix the Nintendo friend stuff so it's even vaguely comparable to Live or PSN. I'm not really hopeful on the latter since their recently released mobile game still uses friend codes rather than any other standard friending platform on mobile.

But as it stands with the new stuff given Disney have a much tighter grip on it (and more star systems slip out their grasp) and only a handful of things non-Episodes (including this thing called "Rogue One" that came out last week...where's that come on the spectrum given it has Saw Gerrera of Clone Wars in it, which given the IRL chronology can't be an afterthought to the movie given the show ended before Rogue One was even scripted?) currently exist in canon because of it. I'd say it's fine to be dismissive of the EU canon-icty given there was like multiple levels of canon and it was a mess spanning over 30 years of produced material covering several thousand years of Star Wars history, but the new canon is pretty tight given Disney decided to give a shit. Wether you delve into any of it is up to you, but kinda crap to totally dismisses a bunch of shows you've never even bothered watching.

So realised that if you only ever play this as a home console, which is what Nintendo push it as despite all other looks and design considerations to the contrary, you're paying over the odds for a console that has an unusable screen, an unrequired battery, and an unnecessary mechanical complication of a docking port. It'd be like if the PS4 was £100 more cos inside there was a UPS and a screen soldered into the motherboard. You'd have to totally have plans to be taking this out on like your daily commute or whatever to justify it. But like..if say you're a family (which is always the major target audience of Nintendo) most I know these days the kids all have their own tablets loaded up with films n silly games n such and for a fraction of the price of the Switch. (two Kindle Fire Kids will set you back £199.98, or 4 of the bog standard Kindle Fires for the same price). And they don't have to pay extra to be able to use VOIP with their friends (which is something I'd missed before but god that's just so hilariously Nintendo that you need a smartphone and a Nintendo MP subscription to use VOIP on the Switch).

Clone Wars and Rebels aren't EU though.

I don't think investors were keen either, dropped 6%. Paid online is my most "WTF" of it, since Nintendo has a history of absolutely appalling online at the best of times. I think Splatoon was the only one to really gain much online interaction. They've no heavyweights like COD or BF to help them out. And yeah the "free NES game for a month" thing is a bit of a "might as well not have bothered". They're NES games, they're like 30 years old and easily playable on a huge variety of devices, Nintendo might as well actually improve on the free game offerings of "Games with Gold" n PS+ by ...I dunno having free access to the NES library. Probably would have been a bit more appealing. Price is also a bit rich considering the Shield is £170, and one £5 MHL cable later that works on your TV. But hey, you can play Skyrim as an early title for a 2017 console. I guess one of the bonus things about Nintendo is their consoles are so easily emulated that don't really have to wait on them to go the way of Sega.

Toys wise they can still sell toys regardless of being in any modern Star Wars media. The Disney Infinity version is his Phantom Menace self, despite 13 years between Menance and Infinity but only 1 year between Mauls return in The Clone Wars and Infinity. I'd say he has a chunk going for him given he survived for years powered by hatred of Obi Wan, managed to become the leader of Mandalore, and kill Obi Wans sort-of-love. But yes, he does have a pretty fancy lightsaber though

Maul is physically bodily alive. I listed the light side guys as examples of the "near immortality" achieved through light side use of the force compared to the dark side.
