  1. lolololol. I thought they said they were going to make it more RPG, not make a mode that just turned it into a corridor shooter. What's the damn point? So in interest, what's the other two modes? I get the feeling it'll be similar to the Deus Ex: Human Revolution difficulties. By that, I mean Give Me A Story (Story Mode, in this case) was the easiest difficulty and gave you the most time to soak in the story. You didn't have to stress out so much about combat, you could take things at your pace. RPG Mode might be the middle-ground, blending both, with Action Mode being purely shooting? It's just a hunch, and WAY too early to really tell.
  2. Remember when Gearbox helped that guy propose to his girlfriend by way of having Claptrap do it? A fan recently passed away from cancer, and so Gearbox had Claptrap record a eulogy for him. In addition, the fan will be placed into Borderlands 2 as a NPC.

  3. Skyward Sword keeps scoring perfect reviews.

Actually, I ordered mine from Amazon, and since it releases on a Sunday they don't offer release date delivery, so I'm going to get it like Day 3.

      BUT STILL!

meenies! :'( it's going to be so hard not to get the game spoiled for me.

  4. Wrex dressed as Tali for Halloween. Your argument is invalid.
  5. Oh you. Honestly, based upon some of the novels, Cerberus has been experimenting with Reaper technology for a very long time. They're aware of indoctrination and its effects, and I think it may be possible that they thought of themselves as "being above it" - essentially, they thought they had tamed it and SURPRISE, they hadn't. As I said before, we're all very curious to know why Cerberus turned on Shepard. It's also possible that TIM has gone the same path that Saren took, in that by attempting to bargain with the Reapers, he's attempting to save humanity (Saren obviously wasn't trying to save humanity, but it's the same thought-process. Save what you can). Given Cerberus' goals, it would be almost ideal to have every other race BUT humanity eliminated.
  6. It's been asked by lots of folks if we could know WHY TIM and Cerberus turn against you in ME3, but Bioware has been very hush-hush about everything, in an effort to keep most everything about the game a surprise for people. Casey Hudson tends to refer to it as the "element of discovery". Basically, we have to wait for the game to come out.
  7. For those of you worrying about whether or not you'll be able to play as your favorite race in coop: The only confirmed races that are playable in coop so far are humans, turians, asari, krogan, and drell. Given how popular Tali is within the community, it's highly likely that quarians will also be playable.
  8. Time to give this a bump. A Lovecraftian expansion is coming to Magicka, titled Magicka: The Stars are Left, with a Minecraft spoof featured as well. Like Magicka: Vietnam, only the host is required to own the expansion in order for everyone to play.
  9. Game Informer ran an article today on ME3 Co-op, titled "Five Reasons Why Multiplayer in Mass Effect 3 is a Good Idea". http://www.gameinformer.com/games/mass_effect_3/b/xbox360/archive/2011/10/27/five-reasons-why-multiplayer-in-mass-effect-3-is-a-good-idea.aspx I bolded what I think are the awesome parts. Basically, any characters you make for multiplayer will show up during your campaign as well, though it's likely a non-speaking role. It's still neat though.
  10. Game Informer threw up a review, gave it a 9.5/10. Which is disappointing for me, really, considering it feels like another Bad Company game. I know others will love it, but I was heavily disappointed that it felt like another Bad Company game when they kept saying it was the "true" successor to BF2. And it's still gonna sell millions based on name alone, which makes it even worse.
  11. Dungeon Defenders is amazingly good. Spent a whole fifteen minutes in the demo and I was hooked, bought the full game, and started playing with buddies. Definitely give it a look.

  12. ...a Half-Life 2 vid? Uhhh.
  13. Fresh from Blizzcon, it's another Diablo 3 trailer. Blizzard's CG studio still manages to impress me.
  14. Mass Effect 3 demo slated for January 2012, and will include both singleplayer and multiplayer sections.
  15. You listed 5 games for each system and concluded that the Gamecube had a stronger library? There's been this movement to romanticize the Gamecube's library over the Wii's, making it sound like "the good ol' days" or something. The Wii's library is easily as good as the Gamecube's, and in my opinion, better. It was an opinion, more or less. Do both systems have strong libraries? Of course they do. I simply feel GameCube had the better library of the two. Again, simply my opinion. You have every right to disagree with it. EDIT: Forgot Ikaruga for GameCube. How I loved that game.
  16. I think the biggest thing was that the GameCube had a pretty strong library - Luigi's Mansion, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Mario Sunshine, Windwaker, Metroid Prime, and several others. Then they came out with the Wii, and the best they've had so far that can compare is Super Mario Galaxy 1&2, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Twilight Princess, and Metroid Prime 3 (no, Other M doesn't get listed - because it was fucking terrible and ruined everything that made Samus who she is). I mean, it still seems like a strong line-up, sure. But to me, it just seems to sorta pale in comparison to what the GameCube had. That, and the GameCube's controller was so damn comfy. Seriously, I could game with that thing for HOURS.
  17. Missing Link DLC is out. It's gotten very good reviews so far, clocks in at over 5 hours long (which is pretty damn long for DLC content), and the best part? The boss fights don't suck. That's right, you can ACTUALLY fight the boss in Missing Link however you want.
  18. You thought you were good with redstone? Think again.
  19. Just start storing items in chests and take the bare minimum with you when you go out mining or whatever.
  20. Game Informer gave it a 10.
  21. Arkham City has gotten some killer reviews so far. Looks like another solid game.

  22. Unfortunately for me (and my GF), we both got our copies through Steam, so we can't return them. And trust me, we would if we could - the entire reason we both got it was so we could play together, and we can't even do that because the game crashes on her five minutes after we start co-op. That's one way to waste 100 bucks.
  23. Square has barely been ahead (less than 100 votes) for the past few hours.
