  1. I usually only get that in hub areas, seems more or less like the game loading things. It's the only time I seem to get any disruptions in FPS.
  2. As for the actual game itself, they weren't kidding when they said ammo was harder to find - that only seems to apply to weapons you want to use or actually have, though. I tried to be non-lethal on my first mission, and ran out of tranq darts - and yet, I couldn't stop tripping over revolver and combat rifle ammo.
  3. Yes, Chaos is in there too. As for the armor customization, that's multiplayer only - something that Relic has been quite good at. According to the videos, there's apparently 1.8 billion combinations in the army painter, and you can individually customize each piece of the armor. Right boot, left boot, right pauldron, left pauldron, etc. EDIT: I'll let Total Biscuit demonstrate it.
  4. I played it on the PC, and it handled just fine for me. You can always tweak keybinds if needed. That's what kept getting me. Most games these days just have you hide behind cover to get health back, and I was sorta stuck in that mindset. Then I kept wondering why my health wasn't coming back as I hid behind cover. There's only one way to get health back in this game, and that's with executions. You gotta keep fighting if you want a shot at healing.
  5. I recorded some gameplay footage from the demo so other folks can see what it's like. The jump pack is on display here, as are a small portion of the weapons (bolter pistol, bolter, stalker bolter, vengeance launcher, and the good ole' chain sword and power axe). It's still in the process of uploading to youtube, but I'll post it once it's done. Due to the time limit on youtube, the footage of the campaign mission will be split into two parts. Jump pack demonstration is a single video.
  6. I wish I was this talented. Didn't help that they actually got Ellen McClain to help either.

I was about to post this in the Portal thread. Amazing.

Damn. There needs to be a reaction video for that.

  7. I did a search and couldn't find a topic about this game yet, so apologies if it was already made. I'm seriously in awe at what Relic can pull off with the WH40K license. The Dawn of War series has been great, sure - but the Space Marine demo? I'm so pumped for the full game now. The demo is seriously the most fun I've had in gaming in a while. I mean, you're actually ENCOURAGED to stay in combat to get health back. Seeking out cover is a bad thing. And switching between melee and ranged fighting is seamless. So the demo was fun enough just by itself, but throw in co-op and 8v8 multiplayer, as well as the beloved Army Painter from the DoW series? This game is gonna be great.
  8. Been playing Lord of the Rings Online with the GF - it's surprisingly well-polished for a F2P MMO, but after I found out Turbine was involved, I wasn't too surprised. Not complaining about that though. Definitely playing Human Revolution once it comes out, though. I've got it preloaded and everything.
  9. Third-person shooters with regenerating health, featuring dark and gritty environments. Actually, how about just the regenerating health. I despise that feature.
  10. It feels good. Similar to BFBC2, but better. And here's new trailer. Yeah, we didn't get to play with jets in the alpha. Or helicopters. Or tanks. Just APCs and a very small map. Maybe the gameplay will be a bit different on larger maps/with more players, but those small maps are just... ick. Not very fun.
  11. Saw this topic over on the Escapist forums, and it was fun to see what everyone picked. There's just a few rules to go with this: 1. Any game that has ever existed is up for grabs. No matter how obscure it is, you can pick it for a sequel if you want. 2. You do NOT get to pick the dev team. I'll start off by saying that I'd love a sequel to Battlefield 2142. Near-perfect balancing of the classes, all the weapons and tools had their own unique uses (but weren't completely useless either), and most of all - Titan Mode. I'd love to be able to play Titan Mode again.
  12. I cared about it, because I thought it might be more like Battlefield 2/2142, rather than Bad Company. Nope, it's another Bad Company game. EDIT: 2142 is, in my opinion, the closest we'll ever get to a "perfect" Battlefield game. The classes were all fairly well-balanced, every vehicle had strengths and weaknesses, and all the tools had their own unique uses. Some weren't as good as others, but they weren't worthless either. Titan Mode was some of the most fun I've ever had in an online game, and none of the gametypes in Bad Company 2 were able to hold a candle to it. If they ever make a sequel to 2142 and they don't completely screw it up, it'll be a day 1 buy for me.
  13. Just to help fill everyone's Tali quota, they apparently found the "cutest bug ever" while working on ME3. All it does is make Tali hiccup. They still can't figure out how to fix it.

... That sounds like made up bullshit to be honest.

  14. If the Alpha gameplay is any indication of the final product, this is just Bad Company 2.5, except with all the good things taken out and some really weird shit put into the game instead.
  15. looooooooool It was already highly unlikely that I would get BF3 (especially after seeing what was in the alpha). After seeing that? No thanks.
  16. This video is amazing.

Best part of it is, Notch has actually sat down and had talks before with the guy leading Skyrim development, and both were really big fans of the others work. This is just Bethesda legal going after something, and Notch himself has stated that he isn't too worried about it and that the claims don't have much substance to them.
  18. There were some, but for the most part, you were right. It was mostly hacks and such.
  19. That just seems like an odd thing for them to do, considering what Diablo and Diablo 2 were like. Hell, they've even opened up StarCraft 2 to modding. I think mods might initially be prohibited (just to keep some players from getting a massive edge over others, and using resulting edge to control the auction houses), but I seriously can't see them keeping mods banned forever. Fans were angry enough over SC2s lack of LAN support. Tossing out mod support isn't going to help them any.
  20. As a note, Bioware is apparently taking feedback from all sources (twitter included), even if they don't necessarily reply to you directly. So if you watch a demo and something irks you, just tweet Casey Hudson.
  21. That just seems stupid. If people don't like Origin, they're not gonna wait for it to come out on Steam - they're just gonna get retail copies instead.
  22. That just seems bizarre. Why remove games from Steam/make them Origin only, only to release them on Steam a few months later?
  23. You can download the unfinished bits in the video description.
  24. As of right now, you can't circumvent it (and it's an absolute clusterfuck as to how to launch it). You click the game in Origin, and on most other platforms, it would just launch right away, right? Wrong. On Origin, clicking BF3 instead takes you to the Battlelog, which is basically a stat tracking website. From there, you then click to join multiplayer, and once it finds an open game, THEN you can launch BF3. That better not make it into the full game, because that's a horrendous way to launch a game.
  25. The only requirement I remember from the email was that you had a Veteran account, I.E. you've played 1942/2142/BF2 at some point.
