I know you're being sarcastic, but doesn't shit like this just show how hard it is to label games these days? Games are very rarely one genre anymore. I mean fuck, just look at Mass Effect, it got slightly less RPG in the sequel and people went bat shit crazy and started labeling it a TPS. It was always a TPS. It was always a RPG. Oh yeah I totally agree. Its getting harder to define games these days. When certain elements are pushed more into the background or foreground, it blurs the lines even more. I think its a good thing though. Certainly makes things seem more complex and deep in the games that include so many different elements. Of course too much and run the risk of watering down all the elements of the game OR your left with Dwarf Fortress

Skyrim IS an FPS! You shoot stuff! and it has a first person perspective! Its a platformer too! Cause you jump on things! Its also a JRPG cause in Skyrim you'll randomly battle enemies who appear in front of you. Its also a RTS game cause its a real time game where you plan your strategy in battles. Its also a racer.

Been thinking about this, I think the reason Ubisoft are doing this on PC is because the retail version requires you to be online all the time (retarded Ubisoft DRM™) wheras a demo version wouldn't. Feh, who'd buy the game on PC anyway

You know, I could be wrong but aren't scrolls something that exist out of the Elder Scrolls games? And if so, doesn't that mean that any one can use the word "scrolls" to name their game?

yeah, unless they specifically have a trademark on the word "scrolls" (which could be hard) then they don't have much. There's also enough difference between the two in game style, the name, and that most people, including Bethesda, call em "Morrowind" "Oblivion" "Skyrim".

Whilst I believe games would be better priced according to quality or demand, at the end of the day price cuts come so soon these days that to us the consumers anyway there's no problem in waiting a few weeks after launch for a better price. Whether publishers feel the same way is up in the air, but for example Shadows of the Damned. Launched at a standard €50 price point, and its down to €30 on zavvi. Not too bad. In fact this is why a DD future on consoles is insanity right now because its such a good deal for us to buy from shops

Aside from the small amount of games available digitally on consoles (putting aside the awful, AWFUL pricing of DD on consoles but I digress) there's always those games that were rare enough back in 2006, but now they are virtually impossible to find except on ebay or for 50 quid on amazon. Even now something like Nier is rare enough, yet if Square Enix put it on he DD store there would be no problem. Its the games and series that are in plentiful supply that seem to get DD on consoles like Assassins Creed and Infamous

same here so far. Gamestop still has it at a mindblowing €270, with preowned 3DS's at €230. HMV have had it far lower at €215. Looking forward to how low it drops in HMV after the price cut

Soooo. Items in the auction house are bought and sold for real-life money, with Blizzard taking a cut of the earnings. Items will be level locked apparently. There will be a seperate auction house using in game gold as well. Don't know how to feel all about this. I suppose its a way to combat people selling gear and shit over the net via ebay and other methods. Still, it just reeks of "how can we wring as much money as possible out of our product with the most minimum effort"

Whats the problem with that? Every console has DLC, so now 3DS has it. No big deal. the Wii had the option to use it but barely used it. Whats wrong with the the 3DS having it? You'd be complaining if it didn't have DLC if it didn't have it

Yeah I have that first version. It was fine at the time, but they intentionally made the actual screen darker so with the bright light it would appear 'normal'. Unfortunately after playing GBA on the DS which is super bright, I can't go back to the SP

I know why the PS3 was sold at such a high price but at least with the 3DS first time buyers are being getting all that cool free shit. I'm not saying Nintendo aren't worrying about this I'm just saying its good to see a price drop like this. At the end of the day the consumers win!

No other company has had such a huge dip so close to launch. As rocky and others have pointed out if they can do this it means it's been running at close to $80 profit per unit at least. That's to abysmal. HOLY FUCK THAT WAS AWESOME! Yeah but look at the PS3's price drops? Sony dropped it by $100 7 months later. Also worth pointing out its abysmal but its not like any of you bought it! Also none of us know the exact profit Nintendo were making. I dis I'm happy about it, because reality bore out my predictions. But, seriously, if you want a 3DS it's good news. My caveat would be that if you're a "serious" gamer, Ninty may not be catering to you as much going forward on the 3DS. I suspect they may be targeting kids with bigger games and for adults they'll be focusing on cheaply-developed casual downloadable titles in an attempt to Ape iPhone games. I disagree there, I don't think they are aiming for the downloadable casual market at all, no real evidence of that yet. I want one because there's a few games I want, aimed at kids or not, and the games coming in the future look decent too

Skimmed the thread some good arguements here! I think swearing in regular conversation places anger and emphasis on something like "Try harder!" "I'm fucking trying my hardest here" which kind of puts an end to the conversation. Or sometimes it doesn't change the sentences impact at all "How you feeling?" "Fucking tired." which would be pretty much the same as "pretty tired." Certain swears have had their shock value stripped though. Fuck and all its variants are pretty tame these days, same with shit. Cunt. That's still got its shock factor.oh man, that's a good one!

Well its the best score the game has got. Seems like a good reason to give that to it, over the 2nd highest review which is 88%.
