Finished Chrono Trigger DS yesterday. What a gem. It seems everything just went right for that game. Great memorable characters, epic story, perfect battle system, interesting and unique world to explore and the sidequests are brilliant.

Everyone buy this!....well maybe. Its a dungeon roguelike with skills you pick at the start. Got all the roguelike ingredients. its got turn based movement, permanent death (well you can actually turn that off when starting...but c'mon where's the fun in that!) and randomization thrown in for good measure! Its genuinely funny, and the tutorial is short and breezy and fills you in on the basics. enemies are pretty rude. Its got an amazing thing that other roguelikes don't have though. It actually looks nice. I mean it has visuals that don't want to make you scratch out your eyes with hot coals. LOOK. Music is good although the tutorial music is annoying, after that though its all gravy. Gravy and mash potatoes to your ears. You will die a lot. And its got a very user friendly interface, complete with a DOOM style avatar of the player at the bottom of the screen. Haven't played that much so BACK TO DREDMOR. The only problem I've got with the game is, despite having Steam achievements.....you can't use the Steam overlay when playing it. This is madness. Presume they'll patch that.

Yup I bought those two earlier today myself. I liked the XBLiG demos but didn't want to pay allards at the time and forgot about it. £1.79 was quite reasonable really. Never got indie games channel in Ireland, so bought them on Steam right away! Love the old style box art they made for them!

I'd agree with that. Doesn't look like Nintendo's interested in modest sales on anything anymore. That's not true. They've released dozens upon dozens of niche games on Wii and DS in Europe and the US, just recently they released Solatorobo: Red The Hunter and that game will hardly crack 100,000 in Europe and the USA. The JRPG's not coming out on Wii are just a bad business decision there's no 'oh they won't sell enough' behind it.

Managed to catch it for myself while it was still at 2.50. That sucks they raised the price to the same price its been at during the whole summer sale

Last few days on Steam. My mind's telling me no. BUT MY BODY, MY BODY'S TELLING ME YESSSS! S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl Swords and Soldiers HD Nation Red (This btw is fantastic! GET IT NOW!) Beat Hazard complete Eversion AI War: Fleet Command (got all the DLC too, bought one of them with the summer ticket! That's fucking awesome!!) Mount & Blade (And Warband. Annnnd With Fire And Sword) Torchlight THE SAVINGS. Torchlight was €2. 2 FUCKING EURO.

CHEAP? It felt like a million dollars. GET OUT.

I've always found Nintendo controllers since the SNES to be very comfortable in the hand. You don't have to get used to them they just sit in your hands nicely. Fave is the Gamecube controller, although the C-stick and D-pad weren't perfect. Love the classic controller. You just put it in your hand and it feels just so snug! Dualshock 3 is okay (its the L2/R2 triggers that let it down), 360's is pretty good but the D-pad sucks ass. N64 pad wooooo!!...although the analogue stick fucking wearing out sucked means you'd have to push it really hard.

For me, its like I think a lot of console gamers don't realise just how influential the PC is and has been over the years of the gaming industry. Portal 2 wouldn't be getting any fanmade levels or free DLC if it was a console exclusive. These days PC gamers criticize games that intentionally limit the experience of gaming on a PC for no reason, or even worse give us a WORSE experience than their console counterparts. I think somewhere deep down the console gamers who go on about PC elitists are actually mad in some cases when PC gamers get the better experience. Look at all the poo slinged around because of superior 360 multiplatform titles by PS3 fanboys.

I guess its just to get more raging comments against the moron....ARGH! I suppose so. But just reading it, I mean any sane minded gamer who gamed during the previous gen know's that some of the biggest games were NOT JRPG's or platformers. HURTS MY BRAIN!
