  1. Ads are starting to appear in my notification bar. That does it; in a month and few days, once I'm up for an upgrade, I am DONE with Android. DONE. Going to iPhone.

Android apps have far more freedom & access to the system's capabilities than iOS's apps do. The downside of this is that if you assign permission to an app that's acting as a "trojan" for ads/notifications on your phone, it can annoy a bit more than the self-contained iOS apps.

Yeah, you installed something bad. It's not the OS.

Well, I was gonna make a comment, but it seems everyone else has already covered it...

Would be funnier if the game wasn't selling pretty well, you know =P

  4. Binary Domain. At first I was kind of "eh" on it, but I really had a good time. I'd heartily recommend it to anyone that enjoys third-person shooters.
  5. http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/03/29/mass-effect-3-ending-hinted-at-by-mass-effect-1-after-all/ Huh. Even as a stern defender of the ending, I had no idea they had planted bits of it all the way back to Mass Effect 1.
  6. I feel like Peter Molydeux and What Would Molydeux are proof positive that Peter Molyneux has had a profound impact on the industry. His games may have never hit the lofty goals he set, but he's always been such a delightful, inspiring individual.

I think he's a brilliant idea man, just maybe not the best producer. I've said before the producer should get him in a room to brainstorm everything up front, then cut him off and go make the game he dreamt up realistically.

His major failing is just that you can't make the most miraculously revolutionary game ever in a couple years with a limited budget...

Arguably he has had the time and budgets for some of these games but like you said he's not the best producer.

  7. I feel like the main problem with AC today is that most of the additional mechanics are treated so lightly that they become burdens more than anything else. Your notoriety goes up, so you have to pay the officials. But you're just rolling in money all the time, so it's never anything you have to be mindful of; it's just another checkbox, just another burden to rid yourself of before you go back to killing. In many ways, AC even feels like a "casual" action game; unless you're gunning for full synchronization, you're allowed to be incredibly sloppy yet still pass every mission.
  8. I also doubt it was racially motivated, but I DO think he should be reprimanded. We all make mistakes, but they still have consequences.
  9. There will be M + K support for Assassin's Creed III PC, but the game designers have gone ahead and said that they strongly recommend you procure a controller to play.
  10. As for the Treyvon Martin suspensions; entirely based on being tardy. He has no history of violence or anything of the sort. And regardless of who struck first, the fact that a fucking Neighborhood Watch person was allowed a gun speaks more about our insane gun laws than anything else. Civilians shouldn't have firearms, but more to the point, the shooter was clearly an unstable, suspicious person. As soon as the police saw the nature of his frequent calls, they should've been able to just strip his license from him and take his gun away.
  11. http://harkavagrant.com/trespass.png Hark a Vagrant is usually rather humorous, but this one is rather mournful and beautiful.

  12. I don't feel too strongly about the issue one way or the other, but for what it's worth, I really agree with Chuck Jordan and Dave Grossman. Same. Both of them put it better than I ever could.

  14. Yeah, after talking a bit with Ethan on Steam, I realized that I need to calm down. Sorry. I kind of get bull-headed when I get angry.
  15. All right, maybe troglodytes is too strong. But I feel that the test audience comparison is bad, because that never happened to an absolutely finished product. Also, changing the ending could potentially make the industry take a turn for the worse.
  16. Fuck everything about today. That's all I have to say about it for now. If they do end up changing the ending, I will say much, much more, and will possibly go on a 24 hour rampage of fierce anger and absolute hatred. Oh yeah, I will say one thing; I've never felt so ashamed to share the same label as the troglodytes that were involved with this.
  17. You know you're a huge liberal when Rachael Maddow keeps popping up on Twitter's "Who to Follow" box.

My wife's cousin is a paraplegic. Hopefully some day this sort of tech will be as mainstream as wheelchairs.

I saw a thing about a guy developing an exo-suit thing for just your legs for paraplegics. It's called They Shall Walk.

  18. http://escort-missio...kes-me-furious/ To reiterate my position; it's fine to be unhappy about the ending. But screw off if you're trying to pressure BioWare into changing it. You're threatening the very industry we all hold near and dear when you pull absolute bullshit like this. It's an attack on creative expression, and if BioWare caves and makes the ending "work" for their "fans", then we are truly fucked. And this http://www.destructoid.com/why-mass-effect-3-haters-need-to-calm-down-223966.phtml
  19. Jason Russell, the founder of Invisible Children and creator of that stupid KONY 2012 video, just got caught masturbating in public and vandalizing cars. Let's make HIM famous.

And people donated to him too? His cause was plastered all over reddit and Facebook.

Thousands of people got suckered into donating to this guy. I feel no shame and give no quarter to my fallacious peers who supported this cause.

    3. MasterDex

      MasterDex

Perhaps fallacious isn't the right word. I know people myself who fell for the scam. Let's just write them all off as uninformed folks with a heart...

If you really want to change something, donate to Doctors Without Borders or something. It annoys me to hell and back when I see people who blindly donate to some guy with a Vimeo video about oppressed kids rather than the real professionals who get down and dirty with the helping.

  20. What? Now they're calling Tested Jamie and Adam: Tested and Will and Norm are nowhere to be found on the front of the page! I'm not sure if I like these changes, thought it was going to focus on Will and Norm as much as Jamie and Adam...
