  1. Super Meat Boy and Dark Souls are completely different types of challenges. While dying in Super Meat Boy really doesn't penalize you, dying in Dark Souls can throw you back for quite a while. It is extremely frustrating, but it also feels fair, except for some of the traps. Pyromancer is the "easy" class because it gives you a fireball spell early on. The game will briefly guide you through a tutorial dungeon at the beginning, but other than that, it's very directionless.

  4. Since there will be so many of you buying it on PC instead of 360, I pledge to keep my Arkham City talk spoiler-free until November 26. I feel like that should give everyone enough time to finish the game and form thoughts about it. It will also give me the chance to speak rationally about it instead of posting "OMG GOTY THIS GAME IS THE NECTAR OF THE GODZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ".
  5. http://youtu.be/SyAvqv_Pj_s I may not like Saint's Row, but I can't deny that this is one fine piece of marketing.
  6. If any of you start playing this game before my campus mail gets sorted out at around 7:30 PM tonight, you will become my greatest enemy.

  8. What movies do you all see as awesome in a can? That way, all of us can catch up on great movies we've never seen before. Also, only add movies that aren't on Da List yet.
  9. Yeah, I thought that part was also pretty funny, Chilton. Nice nod to the rumors about the man.
  10. I regularly have fantasies where I'm employing a tactic I saw in a game, or I'm the character, but it's always fantasy. Never really crosses into my understanding of reality.
  11. Hmm, that's odd. Also, does anyone know what the messages saying "Praise the sun!" mean? Am I supposed to perform an action there? Tried the "pray" taunt but that didn't do anything.
  12. The guy you free? I didn't notice him. Does he only help the one time? I fell off the roof the first time I challenged the gargoyle. Maybe I missed the opportunity. I started again today, this time as a Knight. I've got to the bonfire in the Burg and kept the Merchant alive this time. I'll see how I get on with this character. He's the guy you encounter right before the bridge with the dragon. I've only encountered him again in the fight with the gargoyle, but I heard something about him aiding you several times throughout the game.

Someone on Twitter linked it and said "So this is what it's like to have sex with a toilet..."

      ChiltonGaines

Haha! That toilet would be ridiculous. You know you're in the future when your toilet has a remote. That'd be a dirty remote, though; I wouldn't want to touch it. Heck, I've taken to flushing the toilet with either my foot or knee so as not to touch the plunger.

  15. Though tbh, what modern MMO developed today doesn't have that sort of pre-planning?
  16. These Project Zomboid developers are acting like children and buffoons. I am happy that I never gave them my $8, and I hope the the rest of you will also ignore them.

I gotta agree with FDS here. There's absolutely nothing about The Indie Stone that commands professionalism, and I really don't understand how a self-labeled amateur garage indie dev asking a fiver for their game inherently HAS to be "professional" about it. You only need to look at their past run-ins with problems to know this.

    3. deanb

      deanb

But why is it fine to lack any professionallism if your game funding comes from many £5 sources over a lump sum of £30K or so from a bank/publisher? As I said in my article their statement and actions hurt not only their studio but any other crowd funding indie.

Nintendo don't like indie developers. I can't help but think why.

  17. Redubbing a great movie and inserting terrible VO is quite possibly one of the best ideas I've ever seen.
  18. I see PopCap as the true casual kings, while Rovio is the one-hit wonder. PopCap has shown time and again that they're willing to innovate and work on all sorts of new games and projects. Rovio is only interested in taking Angry Birds and running it into the ground.
  19. With the Arkham City Online Pass, I expect to see non-Online Pass games, no matter the content, to be the exception rather than the norm.

    2. Strangelove

      Strangelove

Sony is going to start doing it. I think Resistance 3 might already have it, if not then Uncharted 3 is going to. Eventually everyone will start doing it. Except Nintendo since theyre online is ten years behind everyone else.

    3. Strangelove

      Strangelove

I suggest you get used to it, otherwise quit gaming cus youre going to be "boycotting" tons of great games coming out.

    4. P4: Gritty Reboot

      P4: Gritty Reboot

I will not get used to it, nor will I buy games that do it. Simple as that for me. There are plenty of good games that don't do it and I'll support those devs.

  20. Still can't believe that they're holding back single-player content in Online Pass format. Pretty soon, every game will require an Internet connection and a new copy.
  21. Skynet is fast approaching reality...
  22. Never had the game crash on me before, but I did have several frame rate issues in certain places, like when the dragon breathes its fire all over my body and I'm like "YAAAGH THIS FIRE IS SO HOOOOOOT" and I drop to the floor panting from all the heat and run into the hole before he heats me up to death.
