  1. Man, LA Noire is just chock-full of "Holy shit!" moments. They come from both actions, locations, and the superb acting.

I'm on the first disc, and I think it's too boring for me. "Press X to win". One of the games for non-gamers.

  2. Yeah, the story is pretty intense. Not to spoil anything, but you can expect a strong story arc carrying through a set of cases. Also, it's not nearly as easy for me. And did you know you can turn off most of the assists, if you find collecting evidence and the like to be a piece of cake?
  3. So how is it so far?
  4. I'm really enjoying myself so far. The comparison to Phoenix Wright is very apt.
  5. Steam has announced that deals are now daily. Every day. Open your wallets...

Waiting on Eschalon. FFS, Steam. Just ONE Eschalon sale! CMON!

Agreed Pirandello. I'm not sure they could have picked a game I want less.

Yeah I'm not likely to ever pay for an Operation Flashpoint title.

  6. You can play it entirely in Black and White? Awesome. I'll be doing that.
  7. Does it really matter how many times he mentions Team Bondi? If he liked the game, he liked the game, and that's what a review should tell you.
  8. Giant Bomb reviews LA Noire. 5 stars! http://www.giantbomb.com/la-noire/61-21500/reviews/ I AM SO EXCITED
  9. Oh well. The review will be back up tomorrow.
  10. I am going to the midnight launch tonight. In their continuing effort to make us feel like 5-year-olds, GameStop told me that they're making their store look like a crime scene.
  11. You getting that Foo Fighters pack? "Rope" is pretty awesome to play.
  12. WHAAAT? The same people made that? Okay, I'm done seeing anything slightly religous with Paul Bettany in it.
  13. Priest. Oh, good Lord, was that a bad movie. How do you kill vampires, Paul Bettany? There's Point A, and then there's Point B, and your job is to get from Point A to Point B. Thanks a lot, Paul, I'll remember that when I'm getting my face gnawed the fuck off from your bullshit advice! He opens the bible during a fight. Guess what passage he decides to read? Just guess. It's easy, I promise. Time's up! "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil..." Way to go for the obscure, Screen Gems! The main city is such a blatant rip-off of Blade Runner that it isn't even funny. The dialog hits new levels of stupid every five minutes. And Karl Urban as a vampire cowboy never failed to throw me into fits of laughter.
  14. Ordered my brothers m11x today. I hope it works well for him. He loves playing Killing Floor on my laptop.

It will. Speaking as one of this forum's many M11x owners... this thing is a beast and a half.

  15. We ordered it for him today. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to convince them for the i7, but we did get the i5 with 6 gigs of RAM. I hope my brother enjoys his new laptop. He likes playing Killing Floor on mine, so he has good taste.
  16. I use a computer to play all the crazy indie games, RPGs, RTSes and any Valve game, but I use a console for practically everything else.
  17. Just skip the frustration part and trade it in now.
  18. Everything Must Go. An excellent movie, with a great performance by Will Ferrell and the rest of the supporting cast.
  19. Where did all the beef between PC and console gamers come from? Also, I find it hilarious that they use "PC Gaming Master Race", a term Yahtzee came up with to deride them, as their rallying cry.

Yeah PC Gaming master race is very tongue in cheek usage. And the divide is likely from the point when franchises that used to be PC only/focused shifted to consoles and the PC versions became crappy ports. Which means simple things like proper kb/m support is something that becomes article worthy on RPS.

We need a proper thread for this. Someone make it in the general gaming forum.

      Re-reading Duke's status, I read "beef" as "queef". >.>

  20. Some clown tried to justify the problems with the console versions by saying "It's PC's time to shine" and "Serves you right for relying on 6 year old hardware!" Yeah, serves us right for buying a $60 game and expecting the fucking thing to work on the platform it was designed for.
  21. One of the more interesting bits of the review said that while it isn't as open-ended as GTA or RDR, it is a very, very meaty game. We, we, we so excited.
