  1. The next Arkham game will be about the Joker. Again. God damn it, Rocksteady, move on!

I'd love to see them do another super hero.

We do need an (Arnold) Freeze game

Wait what? I thought that wasn't possible, story-wise and Mark Hamill wise...

  2. LOL. Sounds like you're on Season 2, AKA the season where the show got fucking stupid.
  3. http://www.poynter.org/latest-news/top-stories/179555/journatic-staffer-takes-this-american-life-inside-outsourced-journalism/ You may not have heard of Journatic before, but you should learn about them now...
  4. "Access to unprecedented information, the knowledge of all of humanity's history, and 1 in 5 books sold in the US is Fifty Shades of Grey. We're doomed as a species. We deserve everything. There is no hope. Just E.L. James, The Apprentice, and fried mayonnaise. Happy Monday."

My mum hasn't read it (she's not a book fan anyway n prefers biographies. Gok Wan atm) but was laughing her head off at this https://twitter.com/50ShadesOfShit. It is selling rather unusually. Oh n this morning had two people on disputing it's BDSM, safe or not n all that.

I really don't understand the hate. It's like people who attack "genre fiction" for being genre fiction.

It's a poorly written erotic book(most are) that happened to sell unusually well.

Next to Aristotle's The Categories Charles Dickens' serials looked like shit.

It's just the usual screaming at a wall. There are so many good books out there and it makes me sad to think that many peoples' first and possibly last reading experience will be something that is of an objectively lower quality.

  5. So why you in this thread? Because this was where they were discussing the film. People did the same thing when we were discussing Prometheus. http://forum.pressxo..._160#entry86861 OK, you got me, I'll leave my hate for the bad movies thread next time.
  6. Holy shit good? or Holy Shit bad? I'm interested in the game, but the actual promo trailer makes me less interested. I've heard things going both ways too. Holy shit good.
  7. It's $25 right now on Amazon. The download activates on Steam.
  8. Apparently I'm now being used in marketing material for the church that I worked at two years ago. Does anyone know the best way to ask them to take it down?

  10. I really disliked The Amazing Spider-Man. Felt like it was the dumbest movie I've seen all year, and I've seen some dumb shit.
  11. I slept through Walk Hard, so I can't tell whether it's a good movie or not, other than John C Riley seemed to be a good singer.
  12. Six, when you get in, hit me up on Steam.

  13. Apparently the TV I use as a monitor goes up to 1080i, not 1080p. DirectX11 doesn't play nice with interlaced displays, so it only lets me go up to 1260x820 or something like that.
  14. ShootMania is a very fun game. Anyone else in the beta? Looking for some people to duel...

  15. Heh, yeah, I suppose I only thought about the actual preparation part as quick.
  16. Shooter's sandwich. http://lafoodie.com/post/11842947663/the-shooters-sandwich Ingredients can be whatever, but the gist is this; you go to the bakery and buy a large sourdough roll. Open that up and hollow it like a bowl. Fill that bowl with cooked meat, onions, whatever. Then balance heavy things on it for 4-6 hours until it's completely flat.
  17. That sounds cool! You take the open ended stealth gameplay of Thief and combine it with the tracking/trapping gameplay from Golden Sun: The Lost Age. Every cat will have it's own mannerisms and patterns that the player will need to learn and manipulate to try and actually capture the cat. Cats are a very good subject for this too - they're fast and stealthy and can jump really impressive gaps. A game about cat burglery would be awesome! If the player managed to put together a perfect stealth run, the reward would be nabbing the cat without it ever waking up. That seems like a good reward for skillful play built right into the premise of the game. You just improved my idea by x1000
  18. An open-world cat burglar game. Each house is unique, ranging in security from simply wedging the door open with a credit card to full-on James Bond shit. There are reactions to your thefts which cause security clamp downs throughout the town or city. Numerous ways to break in, grab the loot, and escape. Partners, bribes, equipment, all that taken into consideration. The one thing holding it back? The budget is too fucking huge to try anything like that.
  19. I didn't even know they were in a Twilight film; I just know that people go on rants for how much they hate Muse. Sticking to stereotype. I think that pedantry bit was aimed at me. I happen to be a huge Muse fan. Don't see how anyone can consider that a guilty pleasure though. The Twilight thing is a bit repellent, but apparently they inspired the Meyer woman (from the Muse wiki: "-- And, finally, thank you to the talented musicians who inspire me, particularly the band Muse - there are emotions, scenes, and plot threads in this novel that were born from Muse songs and would not exist without their genius. --" The Meyer Woman) and, Muse's bassist did basically say that they sold their souls to get some exposure in America. So it wasn't anything personal, it was just business. You ask any professional musician if they would be ok with their song appearing on the soundtrack to a guaranteed blockbuster film and I reckon they'd say "Sure!". Otherwise, they are (in my experience) widely regarded as technically talented musicians, who tend to experiment with a lot of different sounds with varying success, and are one of (if not the) best live acts in the world ever. Oh yeah, I saw them open for U2 and thought they were awesome there; if the sound in the stadium wasn't fucking shot, it would have been even more memorable.

  21. If guilty pleasures include "so-bad-it's-good" movies that you watch ironically, my list would be a mile long, but for the moment, I'll just stick with guilty pleasures. Enter The Matrix. The latter two Matrix films. Call Me Maybe. Airheads. Muse. Sickeningly violent movies (I love them and think many of them like Antichrist and I Saw The Devil are amazing films, but I'm a little hesitant to admit that to a lot of people). Visiting various Gawker sites when I'm really deprived of news from other sources. Various girly pop songs. Dubstep. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (the film). How I Met Your Mother (the earlier stuff, even I can't stand the newer seasons).
  22. Yeah, my views have changed substantially since I started this thread. It's a little crazy looking back on it.
