  1. Been watching the New Zealand Task Master which I thought I'd read was a good one. It's just not the same as the UK version which was more than proven with the return of the original this week which is already great after one episode while I'm only just warming to the NZ lot halfway though
  2. If you liked Norse Mythology, maybe Mythos by Stephen Fry about Greek gods?
  3. had a bit of a moment getting back into playing. ToTK, and finishing Detroit Beyond human. Started on Moonlighter and ran out of steam. Think I'm on the third dungeon. I don't think it's bad, just not my sort of thing - I don't look forward to getting back to it and don't lose time playing it. Think it might be because I want to get Assassin's Creed Valhalla but had thought I was saving it until I got a PS5 but still have no desire to pick one of them up. so feel in some sort of strange limbo with that one.
  4. i always look at that when it's on sale for switch but exactly what you described put me off, so glad I resisted. Sounds like I should keep my fingers crossed for a sequel.
  5. I finished Detroit Become Human after a very long hiatus around two thirds of the way through. I got the good ending, being pacifist and keeping everyone alive. I liked it more than I remember liking Heavy Rain, as it wasn't so unrelentingly grim. The messaging was a bit heavy handed and I found manoeuvring the characters about a bit clunky, so I'd see a prompt and struggle to get back into position to activate it but overall I enjoyed it and might give beyond 2 souls a look.
  6. I avoid conflict wherever possible, literally go through two fused items, so 4 weapons on one monster is really annoying. I just don't want to think about weapons that much. I don't like the combat in general anyway. I'm far enough through that I shouldn't have to worry if I'm not at full health if a single bokoblin comes by. and I know it's unrealistic when you're surrounded by a group of enemies in other games and they take it in turns to hit you, but the amount of times I've been fighting one monster and died being speared through the back by one that's off-screen is just unfair
  7. Caves. Everything is nondescript and murky, so you can't see half the passage entrances and even when you do, you've got so turned around trying to find it you can't tell if it's one you've been down before, then half of them don't even lead anywhere, or there are two or more that both lead to interesting places, but you don't know if one is just one room and then go onto the next one or going to lead further on so should you turn back and check the other one before you get too far? It just creates a feeling of frustration and missing out rather than a feeling of exploration. That's a problem I've had in many games, but specific for Zelda ToTK which they changed since he older ones is, I'm fine with a bomb-able wall, but one and done is enough. It's bordering on farce the amount of earth you've got to break in this game. three or four rows of walls for a single passage or such a thick block the size of an entire chamber you go through several weapons or spend ages charging up the "reusable" option. One I destroyed 90% of the rocks and cleared the passage but there was another passage hidden behind the few I had left. Also don't feel like it's clear when to use ascend to get to secret chambers so I end up using it at random when I'm stuck. Also ultrahand-able rocks used as scenery then suddenly one is needed to be moved to get further. It's weird because they've done so well to subtle prod you in the right direection for s many other parts of the game
  8. Really nice touch opening the delivery box to reveal the picture. Got me excited before I even saw the game. Chose the notebook which looks nice, but it also came with a luggage tag and coin which were free but still I'm less sure of the use of.
  9. So Wrexham is my local team, and while I am still not a football fan it is cool that Wrexham AFC just secured a promotion tonight. It's still rather odd to hear all the hullabaloo going on. The matches were really loud when you're in town which I've not heard for years so you can feel the excitement. Apparently we're a tourist destination for USA-ans now, which is just bonkers and there seems to be more hollywood stars here than London on a match night. Ryan Reynolds is apparently buying a house in the village I live in too so may run in to him (or his assistant more likely) when I pop into the local shop on the way home from work. Wonder how long it will all go on for.
  10. Like half the internet I was annoyed such an awful person was given the role that Martinet could have done, but that was before i saw the trailer. I was happy to give the trailer a chance and it starts off well but he spoils it. I wouldn't want him doing an impression of Martinet but he's just so joyless and lifeless. I don't think the internet is going to achieve a sonic-like change of direction so I will probably wait to see it on TV.
  11. I never even thought of rip possibility. Just need to decide if I'll pre-order from Nintendo as they often have nice bonuses (love the tee shirt I got with BoTW). Or wait to see if they have a Switch 2 in a couple of years with this upgraded for it cos I won't want to play it twice.
  12. We have a date and a Skyward Sword vibe.
  13. https://imgur.com/3i12IhYhttps://imgur.com/3i12IhYhttps://imgur.com/3i12IhY It was free, so didn't technically buy it. I haven't had a Lego set since I was a child so I quite enjoyed it. I guess being mostly flat it's less like making a traditional Lego set but I wouldn't want one of those taking up space and this looks nice from across the room. May try make my own pattern in the future of a peacock inspired by an embroidery my Mum did many years ago that I love.
  14. I wonder if this will find such a place in the public consciousness as Hubble did.
  15. does anyone remember a video from a good few years back that looks like a child's puppet show but slowly got more disturbing. It was set in a kitchen and I think someone was outside, and there was a clock?

  16. because I'm an idiot. Though I guess to choose not to use food is slightly different than choosing to die? and I think that would be more accurate descriptin of what I do. I think I worry I'll use the good item and end up dying anyway so it's wasted. I have the same issue spending experience points. I worry about upgrading the wrong thing so wait ages and make the game harder as a result to no benefit. In Lucanor I think you can buy a save with coins but you don't get many of them and there's other stuff you need to buy so I'll need to look at the best tactics as I think it will actually make a differnce what I choose in the game rather than just my own indecisiveness causing me difficulties.
  17. Had a go at Count Lucanor. The movement was frustratingly slow but I thought I was going to enjoy myself. Then I lost 90% of my progress when I died which is not usual for the sort of games I play (where I'd usually choose to die than use a potion/food etc.). I decided to have a little break from it and look at the best way to go about that aspect but will come back to it as it seems like I'd like to get at least one of the endings for it.
  18. I've given up on it a few times for similar reasons. Tempted a few times to just go through it with a walkthrough but now you've mentioned a remake I think I'll keep my fingers crossed for that as I've never been tempted by one before.
  19. Second place is pretty unbelievable for us. Number one in the professinal jury vote. Ukraine getting almost the maximum points from the public vote was fairly inevitable but the tantalising prospect that we actually could have won has reinvigorated a lot of people's interest in Eurovision over here. Next year is going to be very interesting for a number of reasons. Ukraine entry's video is actually filmed on the front lines. One of the band members didn't perform as is still there fighting.
  20. I love the detail with the flat batons and the face curving above them, I know I'd smile every time looked at it.
  21. I have about half a dozen I love but never use. They awlays seemed to be dead by the time I got around to wearing them so I ended up always wearing this one as it's automatic: Had it for at least 20 years. Looking for photos online it seems they still sell it but mine has a wider, straight bracelet which I prefer. It's lasted better than the other swatch watches I've had but isn't so accurate anymore and needs winding if I don't wear it every day. The performance of my other ones has put me off getting more swatches though. Might buy a battey for one or two watches, wear them regularly until the battery goes then replace a different watch. Suppose it's stupid to save a watch for best as it never gets used that way.
  22. I was listening to an American podcast. They were reading synonyms for something and got to "whinge" and none had heard the word. They are all people I would expect to have a wide vocabulary. It's a commonplace word over hear and would be very surprised if an adult didn't know it. Is it not common over in the USA or is it just an anomaly they'd not heard the word?
  23. the rumble makes such a high pitched whine I turned mine off. Think I remember an issue with the controllers always putting full power vibrations? I updated the controller firmware but still but never experienced the HD aspect and was not worth the annoyance.
  24. What's the replayability of a game like that, would much be different? I'm really torn on giving Obra Dinn a go, I think it needs better recollection of details than I have and I'm not going to be making notes.
