  1. We have a date and a Skyward Sword vibe.
  2. https://imgur.com/3i12IhYhttps://imgur.com/3i12IhYhttps://imgur.com/3i12IhY It was free, so didn't technically buy it. I haven't had a Lego set since I was a child so I quite enjoyed it. I guess being mostly flat it's less like making a traditional Lego set but I wouldn't want one of those taking up space and this looks nice from across the room. May try make my own pattern in the future of a peacock inspired by an embroidery my Mum did many years ago that I love.
  3. I wonder if this will find such a place in the public consciousness as Hubble did.
  4. does anyone remember a video from a good few years back that looks like a child's puppet show but slowly got more disturbing. It was set in a kitchen and I think someone was outside, and there was a clock?

  5. because I'm an idiot. Though I guess to choose not to use food is slightly different than choosing to die? and I think that would be more accurate descriptin of what I do. I think I worry I'll use the good item and end up dying anyway so it's wasted. I have the same issue spending experience points. I worry about upgrading the wrong thing so wait ages and make the game harder as a result to no benefit. In Lucanor I think you can buy a save with coins but you don't get many of them and there's other stuff you need to buy so I'll need to look at the best tactics as I think it will actually make a differnce what I choose in the game rather than just my own indecisiveness causing me difficulties.
  6. Had a go at Count Lucanor. The movement was frustratingly slow but I thought I was going to enjoy myself. Then I lost 90% of my progress when I died which is not usual for the sort of games I play (where I'd usually choose to die than use a potion/food etc.). I decided to have a little break from it and look at the best way to go about that aspect but will come back to it as it seems like I'd like to get at least one of the endings for it.
  7. I've given up on it a few times for similar reasons. Tempted a few times to just go through it with a walkthrough but now you've mentioned a remake I think I'll keep my fingers crossed for that as I've never been tempted by one before.
  8. Second place is pretty unbelievable for us. Number one in the professinal jury vote. Ukraine getting almost the maximum points from the public vote was fairly inevitable but the tantalising prospect that we actually could have won has reinvigorated a lot of people's interest in Eurovision over here. Next year is going to be very interesting for a number of reasons. Ukraine entry's video is actually filmed on the front lines. One of the band members didn't perform as is still there fighting.
  9. I love the detail with the flat batons and the face curving above them, I know I'd smile every time looked at it.
  10. I have about half a dozen I love but never use. They awlays seemed to be dead by the time I got around to wearing them so I ended up always wearing this one as it's automatic: Had it for at least 20 years. Looking for photos online it seems they still sell it but mine has a wider, straight bracelet which I prefer. It's lasted better than the other swatch watches I've had but isn't so accurate anymore and needs winding if I don't wear it every day. The performance of my other ones has put me off getting more swatches though. Might buy a battey for one or two watches, wear them regularly until the battery goes then replace a different watch. Suppose it's stupid to save a watch for best as it never gets used that way.
  11. I was listening to an American podcast. They were reading synonyms for something and got to "whinge" and none had heard the word. They are all people I would expect to have a wide vocabulary. It's a commonplace word over hear and would be very surprised if an adult didn't know it. Is it not common over in the USA or is it just an anomaly they'd not heard the word?
  12. the rumble makes such a high pitched whine I turned mine off. Think I remember an issue with the controllers always putting full power vibrations? I updated the controller firmware but still but never experienced the HD aspect and was not worth the annoyance.
  13. What's the replayability of a game like that, would much be different? I'm really torn on giving Obra Dinn a go, I think it needs better recollection of details than I have and I'm not going to be making notes.
  14. I'm surprised it would be that soon. I know it would be at least 5 here.
  15. Was Crysis any good at the time? The only thing I remember was that people had difficulty running it.
  16. Reminds me I want to play the first one, but am trying to get through my disks first and I have that digitally. I finished Ni No Kuni II. I enjoyed it well enough but am not tempted by the post game content, not least because it does the think I dislike of returning you to before defeating the final boss so I don't feel like I've completed the game and there's no extra story just completionist stuff, which is not me. It's tempted me to look out for some more light hearted RPGs.
  17. It was really odd how few ripples the annexation caused, basically no blowback whatsoever as far as I remember.
  18. Like the bottom left with the vase on - only one stack per series so its a neat pile and not all series. It is more informal but I like the look though they're not actually saving space there with the short stack. I'd not thought about extra shelves; do they have a damages corner near the tills? They do in all UK IKEA and they're always full of shelves. If not you may get lucky trying to find a local person selling a used bookcase. It's usually the frame that gets damaged and the shelves are fine.
  19. would you stack any of your series that are longer than tall on top of one another to save space or do you think it would look messy like that?
  20. I'm playing Ni No Kuni II. Don't remember the first one well enough to know if there are any links between the two but I'm enjoying it so far. Lofty looks like a baby Lisa Simpson so isn't a patch on Drippy but at least he's still Welsh. Wondering if it will get to a point where RPG tactics are required for the fighting because I'm just button mashing at the moment like an action game so will probably be screwed if that point does arrive. With the kingdom running, combat and top down army battles there seems to be a lot going on. Plus there are three distinct art styles, the main studio ghibli style, then a realistic overworld map with chibi characters on it's like half a dozen teams created the game without talking to each other until the last minute and had to just mash it all together.
  21. it was on my iplayer list and only 20 days left so I'd better get on that
  22. Was Eternal Darkness actually any good or was it just an interesting idea that didn't realise its full potential? I remember not completing it but that doesn't really speak to the quality of the game or my enjoyment of it. Glad to see Starfox Adventures getting a bit of love; that was a favourite of mine. I don't think that was the general consensus though. I think it was disappointment in it as a Starfox game rather than the game itself? I wonder is Nintendo shoots itself in the foot sometimes by wedging its games into existing franchises.
  23. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. I enjoyed it and didn't miss Nathan Drake. In fact I think I preferred the game without him. I liked the length of it too at just under 10 hours. I got very fed up with the shooting in the previous games but there was a lot less of it in this one and they mostly were over quickly. I still think they could make a similar game, without any fighting at all. It may be one of the things that's put me off gaming a bit recently that I'm just a bit sick of the fact that so many games are based around violence.
