  1. Anyone ever upgraded the SD card in their Switch? I vaguely remember something about having to go online when you load up a game to check it's linked to your account but I can't remember if it's changing console or SD cards
  2. That's interesting, it's slightly better value in the UK then, ours are standard: £17.99 ($24.75) (dearer than USA's $19.99) Expansion: £34.99 ($48.13) (cheaper than USA's $49.99)
  3. I think it's enough to get me back playing but not to keep me playing, probably. Happy Home Designer was previously a standalone game so integrating it as DLC seems like a good move, just makes me not sure how to feel about the price - dear for DLC, cheap for a new game but not sure how much I'd actually play it.
  4. I've not convinced myself to get the original online service yet, so nearly twice the price for N64 and megadrive games certainly seems a bit off.
  5. I don't understand how Brown could be naïve enough not to see Blair as the self-serving reptile he so obviously was. Unless he was just happy to see Blair treat the country like that and thought he'd be safe which I don't think paints him in any more a flattering light. Depressing to think that would still seem like one of the better options for PM from the last few decades.
  6. I feel the same - I want to be more excited but I've been disappointed with the updates so far. I'll see what's changed but don't think I'm going to get back into it in a big way
  7. Not heard of that and it looks right up my street. I think I might struggle with the price tag but I'll definitely keep an eye out for a sale. You might like A Short Hike if you've not already played it.
  8. sorry if this is an insensitive question, but does this affect how safe you feel going about your day to day life? I know just the level of political mess we're in in the UK can be emotionally draining sometimes so I can't imagine with things like that going on. How close does it feel to you?
  9. The updates were mostly just the events that were included with the previous games so nothing to get excited about. I stopped playing a while ago - I've not even completed the the catalogue, which is a first for me. I'm really disappointed with it, Nintendo haven't tried to move the game on at all since the gamecube. Basic things like still not having a separate pocket for tools, only being able to access item storage in your house making crafting and decorating outside a nightmare, having to have bells in your pocket to buy shop items and pay loans etc. instead of having a debit card (there's an ATM and smart phone so it would make sense in game). typing letters and terraforming is such an exercise in frustration. I just feels like none of the testing was done by people who actually play the game so there's none of the joy and relaxation you want to experience when playing it.
  10. These are some ball pen sketches I made as I'm working toward a picture of Snuffkin and Moomintroll sitting around a camp fire in a woodland clearing with the Groke looking on from among the trees. Or the Groke looking at the lamp with Moomintroll and Snuffkin hiding in the trees. I've not decided yet. I've never made a complete picture, only sketches and doodles but I feel like I could get to a place where I'd be happy with these. I'd need to practice drawing in ink and possibly watercolour - the original Moomin illustrations were just ink, but I think a dark scene would be less heavy with watercolour shading and a bit less challenging for an inexperience person.
  11. Pikuniku, it was a short and enjoyable "quirky platformer", which the world is hardly short of but I would recommend it as it doesn't outstay its welcome.
  12. Is it a full game, or an add-on to Spiderman? AER Memories of Old. Looks like it's not going to be a long game which is a blessing as it's only just good enough to keep my interest. But if you want a gimpy Skyward Sword get on it.
  13. Just a word of warning about powerline adaptors: we have a separate ring for upstairs and downstairs so they could not be used to improve reception upstairs for us, so just make sure the sockets you plan to use are actually connected.
  14. Song Of Achilles. It was the story of Achilles through the eyes of his partner, Patroclus. Not sure how closely it kept to the original story, but it didn't get bogged down in too much unnecessary detail, as I've read some genre novels try too hard to wedge all their research in and end up a bit dry in parts. It's got me wanting to read more into Greek mythology. Also made me want to try and sniff out a bit more quality gay literature - there's a lot a trashy erotica out there (I may have read a book about gay werewolves at one point, oops) and rom coms. I'll read some more Alan Hollinghurst and try Christopher Isherwood, but after that I'm not sure where else there is to turn. I'm having a go at The Shining at the moment though - I've read a few Stephen King books and they're a bit hit and miss with me. Not sure it's grabbing me at the moment but will give it a bit more of a chance.
  15. Not been doing a lot of reading lately but someone at work lent me some books and there's nothing like a bit of peer pressure to get you to pick up the pace. I read all three in just over a week when it would normally take me a month per book easily. I don't think I could keep up that pace but I think a week for one book would keep the momentum up and be a good compromise between it feeling like a chore and spreading it too thin to get immersed in it. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. I enjoyed it - not sure if I didn't get enough from it as I struggle not to trip over my own thoughts if I walk among them too long. No Country For Old Men. I think I was confusing this with true grit before I started it. I found the writing style off putting, the lack of punctuation makes it difficult to read (e.g. knowing who's talking) and the "He opened the fridge door and took out the milk and took the lid off the milk and took a sip and put the milk back and closed the fridge door " style just seemed like a high schooler trying to get their word count up. I'm assuming these are stylistic choices not bad writing but I do not understand the reason in relation to the story - if anyone could enlighten me I'd love to "get it". Fight Club. Still trying to decide how much of it was real. Not Sure I'll come to a firm opinion. They were right on the edge of books I'd choose to read so it was nice to be lent them to give them a go. Mostly I'm hoping to take from it a renewed desire to read.
  16. I know when you place things that open (fridges, wardrobes etc.) out on the island they give you access to your clothes when you interact with them. Is there anything that acts the same with your general storage so you don't have to go back to your house to get stored crafting material, general items etc.? It's hard to google
  17. Nice surprise to see that is still happening.
  18. Is their any hint that Age of Calamity was instead of BoTW 2?
  19. Need to replace my 17" laptop. Do 13" screens feel cramped?

lmao, was I you? I STRUGGLED between deciding if I wanted a traditional drawing tablet (with screen), 2-in-1 or a tablet (I settled with this) for drawing for a loooong time. I kicked off 2-in-1s due to me already having a laptop so it would be kind of silly essentially have another. You'll have access to full tried and true programs like Clip Studio which you can straight up buy (on mobile some of the better ones are still WIP and are subscription based) so you got that going. Be sure to check how good the drawing experience is on your choices. I dunno how they would feel but as for sizes...

My Tab S7+ is 12.4" screen so a 13" will be plenty of space to draw. To be fair, an iPad Pro 11" is good amount of space (8.5"x11" paper, duh) too but more real estate is nice to a point. Note, I use cases that has a handle on the back for both tablets.

16" would be way too big/heavy to say draw in bed and I doubt a case is even available for a 2-in-1 that has a handle. So a 16" is probably desk based drawing and maybe a bit on the lap. So basically treat it like a Wacom tablet that's hooked up to a desktop. You might need to treat them all like that though but I'm not sure since I haven't tried those 2-in-1s.

With that said, back to size, I'm not sure how well/bad a 14-15" screen will work since I don't have them in front of me to gauge them. I recommend looking it up.

In another, "will I ever learn?" moment,  while I was dithering, the laptop I was looking at has gone up by £150, so that's not ideal.

Yeah, I think there's some chip shortage on atm. A friend was asking if I could look into gaming laptop for him (since he'ss decided he's not going to bother with PS5 just yet) and they struck me as generally kinda pricier than they used to be (also shocked 4GB RAM is still allowed to be sold?)

  20. I'm finally playing some of the smaller games I kept (keep?) buying on Switch instead of just loading up Animal Crossing and not actually doing anything in it (though I have finally tried to terraform my island a bit, but I'm just not good at that sort of thing). Donut County. I did enjoy the game but the puzzle elements were very light to say the least and it was almost cliche level "indie game" - talking raccoon levels of whimsy and mumbly indecision. yono and the celestial elephants. It was an OK Zelda clone. The tone was odd as it seems aimed at children but the writing seemed pitched way older. It was isometric in a way which caused some unnecessary difficulties. I was happy to play it but would struggle to recommend it.
  21. I don't currently have PS+ to do that. If I buy a PS5 in a year or two I'll only have that months games to start off and will have missed the previous 2 years. I think with the xbox game pass, it's more like a PRIME/netflix where you have access to the whole library of included games (subject to some coming in and out of the pass)? I just know a few people that specifically got the series X because of the pass, and not really anyone being positive about plus, it just seems a bit archaic
  22. Do they still have the annoying issue that you have to "buy" the free game in the month it's on offer?
  23. Due to a combination of price, size, availability and my general lack of desire to game at the moment, I think I'm safe holding out for the PRO or however they work it this generation. May finally play through a bit of my backlog, instead of my usual tactic of selling consoles and giving games away. Have they made any changes to PS Plus? Heard a few people saying how great MS game pass is and that PS Plus is looking a bit sad in comparison
  24. I'll always be a press x-er in my heart.
