  1. We've rescued a Romanian girl who is currently nameless which is getting a bit frustrating but nothing seems to stick. She's a nervous little girl but changed so much in just the week we've had her. A long way to go as she's 4 and never lived in a home and not been treated great so doesn't understand how to live in a home or how to interact with humans that want her around. edit: She's called Ada. When we told the lady who runs the rescue she said that was the name of her first rescue dog from Croatia which is why she decided to set up her own charity to rescue the Romanian dogs so that was nice and helped us feel it's the right name.
  2. are carnivorous plants a viable solution to keeping down flying critters to a manageable level?
  3. you can use the self timer if you don't have a remote. Most cameras have a short option like 2 seconds for the very reason of reducing camera shake, rather than thinking you can dash into a photo that quickly and so you don't have to annoyingly wait 12 seconds for each photo.
  4. I haven't played this game in a while so don't remember exactly but If you press left on the d-pad and click on the mission you can restart the checkpoint/quit it.
  5. Brave Yourself games has made a Zelda game with Crypt of the Necrodancer gameplay. Good to see Nintendo opening up their franchises like this.
  6. I didn't realise there was a dragon quest builders 2. Still need to play the first one I've had sat about since it launched on PS4. Yono just appeared when I went to reply so I guess I didn't post about buying that. THere was a big Sale on the eShop so I bought a few point and clicks and this which is a Zelda-lite sort of thing as far as I can tell.
  7. So I'm not currently playing yet, but which games do you all recommend on Rare Replay before I sell my XO?
  8. I finished the Assissin's Creed Chronicles Trilogy. China was OK, India improved on it in several areas and I preferred the styling of it. Russia was really frustrating. So many timed events where you had to be absolutely perfect and the controls were not good enough for that, so many times I'd try to jump off a ladder and automatically catch back on to it and that one mistake was enough to fail the section I'd even have to repeat some sections half a dozen times or more with literally no errors but still not be fast enough - it had to stop playing a few times because it got so annoying. The other problem was while playing through the first two games I got the first bonus on each level every time and sometimes the second bonus, but on Russia I did not get a single bonus, so had to complete the whole game with one bar of health. Since it was the last in the series it soured the experience a bit.
  9. Yeah, I don't know how much I believe what I wrote, so much as that is the level of restraint I aspire to. One thing for certain is that I have finally learnt my lesson with xBox so unless they do something completely bonkers that will not be sat under my TV next gen. Certainly a streaming subscription box does not appeal.
  10. I'm going to try and wait for the "slim", unless we hear rumours about a pro, as that approaches.
  11. If that translates to £500 I will definitely not be buying it. If that price included the VR headset then I would seriously consider it. I really think I will finally be more sensible with my purchasing decisions this next generation though.
  12. You don't really see the individual strands of hair on a furry animal so the first one is most successful as being pale it more just hints at the texture and you're not so drawn to the individual hairs.
  13. Optimised SSD technology sounds awesome if it even comes close to that Spiderman demo - you'll be whizzing through those menus like a demon, Mal. I love the idea of 3D audio but anything I've tried has been fairly underwhelming so I hope they do genuinely make some strides in that area.
  14. Definitely in order. It's not like 4 is just out and you want to play it along with other people. Plus I think people have implied the earlier ones don't hold up that well so going back would be hard. I'd just blast through them on easy so you're mostly playing for the story and experience not the challenge.
  15. I want to get into more Welsh music, both modern and traditional/folk music. As a side note I have been the the location this video was filmed a few times, it's a lovely area.
  16. I'd invest in the holder if it came with a NintendoLand style minigame collection and future support was just limited to games "enhanced with VR experiences" like they're adding to Mario Odyssey (and as an example for a future game, Animal Crossing just play like normal, but maybe going to the museum or decorating your house or some even celebrations like the fireworks on New Year's Eve could be in VR etc.) As far as I can work out the whole of breath of the wild will be playable in VR (though it's not super clear) and that would be torturous , holding the entire console and controls up to your face for more than 5 minute bursts and as you say couldn't look great and I'm super surprised the console can cope with rendering it, even at what would end up being SD resolution.
  17. I think we knew or at least suspected VR was coming to Switch even before the console was launched due to comments from Nintendo, so what do you all think of this take on it? It looks like fun and probably the best use of Labo so far but I won't be getting it. I would like if they would bring out a padded and strapped headset that clicked the switch in on its rails and had built in motion sensing then you could use a joycon in each hand and would be a good basic setup for maybe £50 with some software?
  18. I'm now FriendlyGroke across the 3 console gaming platforms I use, which is nice.
  19. wow that's pretty generous. not the sort of thing I used to see when I had prime, just recoloured skins and such. Still miffed about Nintendo's paid online though. Not touched splatoon 2 since they introduced it
  20. Why's Angela Lansbury announcing Bill and Ted 3?
  21. I'd love to know what's going on now we've had that new vote. They've voted no to the deal we have and now no to a no deal brexit, so what does that leave? As far as I can guess it will be tinkering with this deal which no one actually thinks is good and returning it to the vote and repeat this process until enough MPs get sick of it and it eventually passes even though no one is actually any more keen on it.
  22. Pokemon Sword and Shield were accurate rumours. It's a British-style region called Galar. As I'm currently playing Polemon Lets Go and not particularly enjoying it not sure how excited I am for this yet. First video is just the game footage and new starters. Second video has some men chatting and not giving much extra away.
